  • It's not required to group but the de-emphasis on grouping that has been happening in MMOs in the past five years is exactly what is hurting MMOs. Game communities used to be much more friendly and helpful; now people just want to run in and get their rewards. It is bad enough that the random groupis barely talk to each…
  • Blocking the vote-kick from boss fights and the loot roll immediately after needs to be implemented ASAP.
  • If the solo instances didn't award the same gear as group instances, instead offered nothing higher than blues, I may be okay with it. Besides, there's always the Foundry for people who refuse to group. D&D has always been about grouping, although I know the trend the past few years is for people to play games that are…
  • D&D is at it's core a roleplaying game. You can always pretend that your companions are unavailable at a given time leaving you either alone or with one you don't normally use.
  • It's not quite that easy to just monitor the ip or mac address for anyone logging into the game. Your idea of a bot to combat the "bots" also isn't good, because if you post the code of course the spammers will be using it as well. The only way to get rid of gold sellers is to change people's attitudes about buying gold.…
  • When I played SWTOR one of the first instances that they added after launch was one in which many parts of it were dark. You were able to pick up a light source which functioned like a flashlight for those sections. Mobs would come out from the darkness, you would hear them before seeing them and you had to move around a…
  • All I saw at the vendor was that you could get 220 lights for one star, not the other way around. Was I looking in the wrong place?
  • Do skirmishes. The queue times are really short and they're pretty easy, at least in my short (level 32) experience so far! You're essentially soloing because very few people talk in them.
  • If you mail it to just @<your user name> it will sit in your mailbox available for any of your characters on that account till one actually grabs the items. I find it easier to just do it like that instead of trying to type out my character names when mailing stuff to myself.
  • Thanks, that helps clear things up a lot!
  • Yep, it's a video game thos we all chose to play. We chose to play it because it's D&D. If you want to play a game where you can switch your class/race/gender at any time why not play a game that has that as part of the game rules instead of trying to change the rules for the game you are playing?
  • I'm against this in all MMORPGs. This takes away from the entire spirit of a RPG in that we make choices that matter for our characters.
  • Ok, thanks for the info! Time to put the brain into action and figure out how to make that work for me.
  • I can't see the Mulhorand gear being a problem. I only started playing a this past weekend and I was able to get three pieces of it off the AH for my now 26 cleric for about 30,000 AD. And that was only today I decided to buy the gear. I looked for expiring auctions with low bids. Maybe a system needs to be put into place…
  • The problem is that there are always new people who DON'T know how to "play their class right" because they are still figuring out their class. People can hit max level in MMOs without mastering the intricacies of their class. That's where we have to help out, by offering tips and suggestions in a friendly non…
  • I don't know if there's any real etiquette guides to MMOs out there, but I could be wrong. I always play following the basic philosophy of "be excellent to each other". If I see someone fighting a group of mobs I won't help out unless they appear to be in real trouble, with their health low. Some people hate when they get…
  • I'd like to see paladin brought in. They could change things up a bit by making one paragon be a tank build and the other paragon being a healer build. This would help the tank/healer shortage, but it's also exactly like another MMO that's out there. Then again, I guess druid would be doing about the same thing.
  • I haven't read through the whole thread so forgive me if this has been brought up. In Champions Online, when I was playing regularly, there was one particular instance for the shard that was the unofficial RP instance. There was also a really good website and forum for RPers that helped people connect.
