I was under the impression that the sword indicated combat advantage, not orange text. I played around with this mostly on the GWF I leveled by moving in and out of flanking positioning. As to race selection, keep in mind the relative strength of the human racial; namely, the 3 additional heroic feat points, which will be…
The Old Mage Stinkbeard The Great Oversorcerer Old Sage Doombringer of Mystra I know you asked for three....but there are more, and I figured I'd keep my bases covered!
If it's a pack of standard/weak/minion mobs, then yes, GWFs can easily one or two shot them. One encounter power accomplishes this: Not So Fast. Its AoE damage was quite amazing. Sometimes the mobs might have a sliver of health after that, so simply use Punishing Charge...or just use Punishing Charge in the first place.…
The GWF class ability, Determination, works the same way. It cannot be canceled when it's activated. Part of playing either of these classes is knowing when to activate these class abilities.
The point of Gloaming Strike is its ability to refresh the stealth meter, not its damage. When used properly, it's an amazing skill, as long as there are little adds to last hit with it. For DPS, use either Sly Flourish or Duelist's Flurry.
It takes time before the GWF comes into its own, but at higher levels it does very good damage, especially at levels 45-50 when you pick up key feats at the end of the Destroyer tree. Its mid-level damage might need a boost, but the class is all about proper positioning of its AoE skills. With it, large packs dwindle quite…
Stealth duration does not need to be increased in the slightest. If anything, it should be decreased. I'd rather see more than three useful encounter powers for PvE content (those three powers being Lashing Blade, Shadow Strike, and Bait & Switch).
The GWF is incredibly powerful, and likely the best DPSer at end game. They scale incredibly well, and do not bloom until you get the at-will Sure Strike at level 15 at the very earliest. Once you hit level 50 and have the end Destroyer paragon talent, you're a wrecking ball on both single target and groups. Just be…
It is very lackluster. Just replace the skill with another aoe skill. Proceed to faceroll through everything, since this class is literally a bowling ball. We'll see how it scales at later levels, but up through 15 it just wrecks face.
Tiefling, then Half-Orc. Only thing Dwarf grants is a +2 Str bonus...which means very little. Crit elevation from Half-Orc and +5% bonus below half HP from tiefling will both play a far bigger role in the end game.
While no serious number crunching has yet been done in regards to theorycrafting for this game, I would imagine the stat bonuses will be of secondary importance to each races' other racial abilities. Two races stand out in this regard: half-orc and tiefling. Half-orcs possess a racial that grants 5% increased critical…
It has nothing to do with "hate". The class is there, it just isn't going to be implemented by launch unless they change their plans. It will be added in the future--probably not too far after launch.
