  • It's a problem for F2P games, in that you either need to grind a lot or invest IRL money for a powerful character. Unlike in, say World of Warcraft, where you just need to kill the raid boss once a week, you have to grind the boss, then grind the RP. Or pay money. Gear resets have never been a massive outcry there for this…
  • Usually level cap raises come with Gear Resets, making everything you had obsolete. However, level cap raises ALSO usually come with additional content from which we can aquire more and better gear from. Aquiring the gear from the same content we've already been running is . . . extremely dissapointing.
  • While in principle I like the idea of endgame content being hard, the reality is that most players will just demand higher and higher gear requirements for people they group with. Same thing happened in WoW; it's where Gearscore started, as an addon to track the gear of who you grouped with. I guess it's more incentive to…
  • 1) Allow players to queue via role. A Tank-specced GWF should be able to queue as Tank, a Temptation Warlock should be able to queue as healer etc. 2) If you will continue to have large scale raids, the grouping and queueing system needs to be adjusted to accommodate. Not being able to form your own groups for raids will…
  • World of Warcraft did it each time the level cap went up. It's called a Gear Reset for a reason, you get reset back to being a weakling again and have to re-go the gear grind.
  • One thing I learned about MMOs is that The Devs Buffeth, and The Devs Nerfeth Away. If you always go after what is strongest now, you will forever be switching characters, as what was strong before could be nerfed the next day. I'll probably be sticking to my GF, unless the Paladin looks really fun to play (not OP, fun.)…
  • I can confirm, you need to be facing the center of the red circle, NOT the dragon. It's much faster having one person spend 3 seconds to revive someone than to have someone take 20 seconds to run back.
  • 3. Tank Luckily, with enemies hitting harder and harder, GF as tanks are becoming more necessary.
  • The problem is that the actual fight requires some degree of orginization, skill, and gear. If they don't want to be a hardcore raiding MMO, then putting a hard raid in is counterintuive. If they didn't have raids, or made raids easy enough to be PuG-ed, I would be fine. But since they did put in a difficult raid in they…
  • Personally, I would prefer the ability to join a Guild and do Guild runs (with a high probability of success) instead of rolling the dice on PuGs. I don't have the same amoutn of free time as before, and I would prefer that it be well spent.
  • Sure you can block it. You have to be facing the center of the red circle and not the dragon head though.
  • Well, you're in luck. One of the best sets for Devoted Clerics is the Tier 1 High Prophet set. It's set bonus is worth more than the gearscore. It's good, and it's dirt cheap.
  • Not always. For the middle cleric sometimes several packs will spawn at once, sometimes there is dragons breath incoming so people are busy dodging, and sometimes there just aren't many people defending. The Leigon Devils will charge the cleric pretty quickly, so I just Enforced Threat, then run around marking the rest…
  • I've actually been in the top 10 as a GF almost every time, even a few second and first place finishers . . . and I have no idea how I'm getting those points. Perhaps it counts all my revives, or it heavily rewards grabbing aggro in the Cleric phase. The times I get #1 or #2 were the time where I was defending the middle…
  • At wills: Crushing Surge, Threatning Rush Encounters: Into the Fray, Lunging Strike, Enforced Threat Dailies: Indomitable Strength, Fighter's Recovery. During Cleric phase, should be using Enforced Threat, Threatning Rush, and Lunging Strike to grab as many enemies as possible, tank with Aggrivating Strike, and use…
  • 1) Alternative ways of advancement. There should be three ways to aquire rewards in the game; Skill, Time, and Money. Create hard dungeons/skirmishes that allow people to collect boons/rewards faster, leave the daily grind for the more casual players, and (since this IS F2P) have a zen unlock option. That should please…
  • Feedback (PvE perspective): Players will want to use the Divine encounters, since they have no cooldown and build empowerment. However, in order to do so they'll need to use At Wills to build divinity. This brings us to the strange situation where normal non-empowered Encounters are much less attractive than before. The…
  • Oh right, PvP. Those values will definitely have to be adjusted seperately. Not necessarily. We can adjust how much each leeches independently of how much damage it does. That's what the coefficient does, it makes certain attacks leech less per hit. Giving each attack a different number will make balancing easier. You can…
  • I think we're talking about two seperate issues here. How much health is leeched by DPS classes can be adjusted via balance changes, but that only works if it doesn't scale with every offensive stat. Otherwise, there's just way too big a diffrence between low and high geared players. If you want to leech a lot of health,…
  • They've been converted into feats. Cleansing Fire means as long as you're attacking (which you should be to build divinity) you'll have a free AOE heal, Shield of the Divine and Test of Faith will just heal people by themselves. Also, with how quickly divinity now builds, soothing light looks a lot more viable. Bear Your…
  • I'm pretty sure that was the original intent, but that just led to Tanks/Clerics being left out altogether. The introduction of dedicated heailng trees for Warlocks and Cleric and the introduction of one-shot content with very hard hitting enemies makes me think that they're trying to bring Tanks and Healers back. The more…
  • It's not how Diablo 3 works. Each ability has a "proc rate" which affects how various procs and things like Life Steal works. An AOE spell like blizzard has an insanely low (something like 3-6%) proc rate, so you only gain 3-6% of the life on hit, and something that procs 10% of the time will only proc 0.3-0.6% of the…
  • I like Mark, but I do wish it was a bit faster than it is now. While it's good for pulling, it's also needed to tag an enemy that's wandering towards someone he shouldn't be, and in the middle of combat the delay can make it annoying to pull off. I wouldn't mind having KV/ITF on tab as long as I can get another way to…
  • It seems like they moved a lot of the Cleric's healing from the base abilities to the feats. In particular, Shield of the Divine gives you heals for free, Cleansing Fire gives all your damaging powers a chance to heal, and Test of Faith gives you free heals when you take damage. This should give us some more flexibility on…
  • Question: If you imagine the Guardian Fighter as a class that tanks, we will need to have content where tanking is necessary. The biggest buff to Guardian Fighters was the enemies in the new skirmish/dungeon hitting very hard, thereby requiring an actual tank to take the damage. Do you expect that this will continue in…
  • If you're talking about his fire cone, I just move. It gives me more threat building uptime and saves stamina. For his fireball throw cast, you can just wait until after he throws the fireball to shield. The most annoying part is when everyone is in melee. Then he'll just stand around awkwardly before doing the hand blast,…
  • I'm not sure why people are complaining about a lack of AP. Just blocking a hand blast fills up 30-40% of your AP. Two of them, plus some misc damage you took with KV up, means you can hit Fighter's Recovery almost every other handblast. Fill up your HP, rinse, repeat.
  • 1) A special key you can get that vastly increases the drop rate from one chest. You can only use the key once per day. This will allow people who don't farm the same skirmish/dungeon to get good loot, while making sure the . . . very dedicated won't be able to farm everything in a week, then complain about lack of…
  • If there isn't a DC, I run KV to keep the group alive. Usually the rest of the group enters full DPS mode and I can hide behind my shield long enough for the enemies to die. It is rough sometimes if the group loves standing in red, but overall it's made the run a lot smother.
  • I think a big part is that many people would be satisfied with two of the three weapons, making it more likely they get something they can use on the first try.
