I voted DC but I'd like to also give an honorable mention to GF. They're about equal but GF is a little more useful because it has some semblance of self-sustainability. DC is unable to take care of itself at all :| and the heal over time BS that Cryptic gave us instead of the standard core spellbook is utter garbage.
since you're leaving you should totally tell us all the the evil things about the cryptic developers :3 like who ate the last cookie in the cookie jar >:3
-points to guild wars... the first one- Guild Wars 1 had a ton of mechanics I'd love to see Cryptic rip off so hard that they actually take chunks of the game with it. But more importantly than that it had all the basics of a perfect MMORPG (though only the basics, it never really fleshed it all out). Strong storyline and…
Turbine is very clear on why it doesn't do more for PvP though, it doesn't make them as much money as PvE. Cryptic makes its money from lockboxes, mounts, and the Astral Diamond trade. Considering that not a day goes by that you don't get a message about "someone" getting a lockbox treasure (and they probably had to open a…
Nope, nothing. I'm at the point where I hope most of this update gets thrown out the window after someone says "You know... nobody asked for 85% of what we're shoving in. Let's flog whatever we weren't asked for and go get to work on some new maps for domination so that people will stop being bored of the same scene. We…
They're afraid it will split up the PvP community so they'll never make something that will actually "increase" the PvP community? Uh-huh... I'm going to stop here because my cynical side needs to be re-chained with adamantine to refrain from making certain comments. Do they really not think things through to this degree?
I think the main problem is the developers fail to realize a very important fact. Versatility in MMOs is caused by imbalanced classes. In other words, almost every time they add something in for "balance" they restrict versatility (look over each update made in the name of balance and you'll start to understand what I…
Well Neverwinter has always lacked real versatility which is one of the things that's pushing me away from it. There are a limited number of builds that work... and the rest will end with either your PvP party or Dungeon party kicking or leaving you behind. It's you're fault though, you tried to be different and not use…
I'll only accept that after a huge foundry update giving us access to timers, levers, and dynamic traps and NPCs. I could make so many PvE/PvP combo maps with logic puzzles and other stuff (and if I had access to basic scripting and storage variables and random number generators I could make the logic puzzles change on a…
I made a point in another thread that Cryptic may not make new game types or any of the stuff you're desperately hoping for in this update. They created Tenacity and Healing Depression and are balancing them solely for one PvP mode. It wouldn't make sense for them to do that if they were making more PvP modes later, they'd…
Preferably when they fix the half a million existing problems with current classes so they don't have bugs, glitches, or balance issues. I'd rather have a nice, polished silver slate ready before they draw more carvings, otherwise it takes twice as long to carve on the silver. Analogy swing aaand miss.
It's just a checkup. Though in hindsight I probably should've ticked the options allowing players to edit their choices. That way cryptic could just check this poll to see when they've done enough work on PvP. Obviously not yet though considering (if this poll is a representative sample) their update would face a rejection…
I agree with your suggestion to an extent but I don't agree with your reasoning behind the suggestion. I don't think there's anything wrong with desirable classes and builds (or flavor of the month classes and builds), but I do feel there's something wrong when they're created by developer patches (aka Cryptic's idea of…
Well sometimes I do feel like the game is a drill sergeant shouting "you maggot! Pick those flowers if you're a real man! You know what, actually stand back I'll do it. Good work maggot!" at me. Then it's ridiculously hard in other areas. I can't figure out if they want to be Peggle or Dark Souls.
Question, does anyone have something positive to say about this event now that it's being going on for a while? The only positive comments I'm seeing in this thread are from the first couple of days or more recently regarding the joy at getting the gear. Ever since then the only positive comments I'm seeing are rebuttals…
I have the following problems with your review: 1. Listing control wizards 3rd on the DPS chart I was topping Damage charts at level 60 with blue gear and I've yet to be bested by anyone but another CW. A friend of mine has a vorpral + eye of the storm and nobody's gotten close to him. 2. Lack of mention regarding game…
Kinda surprised they haven't done this before. It requires minimal effort on their part (just rework the levels on a few already existing areas). So definitely yes. It's a surefire +1 against gameplay stagnation at level 60.
I expect a free respect after this update hits the regular game. Maelstrom's only real benefit is its ability to stun enemies that otherwise can't be CC'ed (the area is weak, the damage isn't anything compared to ice knife, and overall it's not that good of a skill without that one simple benefit). Here's hoping you fix…
Like I said, it was come up with on the spot. If I wanted to I could probably balance out the entire concept so that it's fair to everyone. That aside it wouldn't be too difficult to put a little variable into the arena that multiplied cleric damage by a certain % to make it so that they're about equal to everyone else. My…
The only feedback I can really give on this is.. well... bad. Most of those challenges are what I do to keep myself entertained while I'm waiting for Gauntylgrim to open up and don't have time to hop into a foundry quest. Since there's not much I can say about something that, in my opinion, is nothing more than random…
You do realize that's like saying "well it wasn't very nice to be stabbed in the leg but at least it broke the monotony". If the event is lame then it's really better just to not have it at all, leaves a bad impression.
