  • When the game finally does come out that all of us D&D players do really like can you imagine the gold rush that will be. Every time a new game is released I keep hoping this will be it. Every time it is FAIL. Maybe the next one.
  • No WoTC are still that greedy. Just ask the guys that are trying to make BG3. They want to use the 2nd edition rules but WoTC is making it impossible to do so.
  • This is not good for WoTC. They wanted this game to be a flagship for the 4.0 ruleset. This game was to inspire D&D players to rush out and buy up the 4th edition rule set and revive the D&D pen and paper game. They were counting on a big cash flow to come in when this game launched. Instead we have a lot of push back. D&D…
  • I can explain some of it. WoTC own the D&D franchise. Every time Cryptic wants to change a game mechanic away from a 4.0 rule they have to get it approved. The rule set 4.0 was designed for mmo play style. It gets away from core concepts of D&D. So some of what you want just can not happen even if cyptic wanted to do it,…
  • Yep they should be scratching their a*s when standing idle! Eww....
  • Some players like to explore, but most are into power leveling. The mmo community is really not the exploring type. Mostly power gamers.
  • Just do not make an assumption that they are THE minority. They may be the current minority of the current mmo world only because the current mmo world has not met their wants. I consider them to be the silent majority that every so often comes out and tries this or that and leaves dissapointed. That does not make that…
  • Actually I am playing BG1 and BG2. Tried this, tried DDO, and liked neither. I can not wait for BG3 or BG next to be released. That is where these D&D players will go that dislike this game.
  • I gree with the OP as well. This is not the D&D experience I was hoping for. Hear that Wizards of the coast! This is for people that like WoW or GW2 and want to try a different combat system. In my perfect D&D game would be multiple groups of (DM and up to 6 players) running in a persistent world with a world player run…
