  • Currently it feels to me like the Warlock is not bad concerning survivability and damage output - at least when going solo. BUT there are some things that really feel wrong concerning the feats and powers. That is setting me up. There has been some good feedback here in the thread from people that keep playing the warlock,…
  • From my POV doing my feeling tests in Vanrakdoom the nerf of the magnitudes did not hurt as much as i expected on first noticing them. Maybe this is because Intelligence now delivers some magic damage bonus that compensates for this. After all i did not notice that much of a difference to before. Anyway i felt strongly…
  • @"noworries#8859" : I am sure others will approve that the current situation with Risky Investment and Executioners Gift may have been a nice try to increase Warlock self buffs but it still does not make any sense to do it this way. In the current state it makes no sense to chose anything else but on the other hand it…
  • Maybe it is to some extent misleading that a Warlock now officially may queue as a healer. I must admit that i don't have the numbers but only my feelings running Vanrakdoom with only the gear that you can pick up during leveling 70->80. I lack the experience from running many dungeons on preview so i can't say anything…
  • @schietindebux awesome dilligence (others too of course). Still amazed how you stay so passionate.
  • After spending quite some time with Hellbringer i checked out Soulweaver now in Vanrakdoom with lvl 80 mobs. For me that felt quite pleasing. Survivability felt good, there were some reasonable number on healing me and my companion and to my surprise i did not have the feeling that dps was really lower than with…
  • Seems that there has been changed/fixed something with the lvl 80 mobs in Vanrakdoom. Survivability is much better now with latest patch. I now can jump into them, cast Blades, cast Hellfire and cast Killing Flames without kissing the ground before ending that rotation. Even if i am probably alone with this opinion but i…
  • One thing that just comes to my mind concerning threat management: Could it make sense to give the soul puppet an AoE again as it was possible with Spirit Fire(?) before? Maybe as an extra when you choose Soul Desecration. Make that 20% extra damage an AoE that is distributed between all enemies in reach. Just to taunt…
  • Here are some things that i find really annoying when fighting lvl 80 mobs in Vanrakdoom: 1. Even if i try to evade an attack from a vampire with shadow slip i more often than not being CCed and kicked to the ground. Following attack from 1-2 vamp spawns right after --> dead. Those attacks are not avoidable. This is not…
  • Before the change to Fiery Bolt you could easily do Killing Flames (giving the curse) and then FB on the same target getting full AoE damage.
  • Has anyone already thought about the fact that the class features and i think some mount insignia bonuses will have diminishing impact on a build because they increase ratings by number and not by percent? With the better gear all these will have less and less influence on the absolute outcome. Probably it is a great thing…
  • @"noworries#8859" I still can't comprehend the whole thing with Fiery Bolt and Killing Flames. I can understand that KF is a measure to summon a soul puppet but from the damaging effect on single target we now have KF and the probably lightly better KF (FB). For me it would make far more sense to emphasize on the AoE…
  • Dear @schietindebux : I tried the augment only shortly because i was missing a companion for tanking (HB build). My impression was that my personal damage was noticeable bigger than with non-augment. Did not do much testing on this but it felt as if the bondings were on all the time plus that one selectable companion…
  • Hellfire ring will apply LC - no need for ACC here. I ran Vanrakdoom with Shadow Slip and NPNM and it worked fine for me. For survivability try using a healer or tank companion. I find the changes to the companion system really nice and from my point of view it makes absolut more sense for a DPS to have a healer/tank at…
  • Hi folks and thank you for being in this thread. Special thanks to @schietindebux who still seems to be very passionate about the Warlock and of course to @"noworries#8859" who gives me the feeling to really want to show us that he cares about the players that have chosen the Warlock. Old "fun brake" that i am i would like…
  • I fully agree that bug fixing and refactoring comes first. You don't want to maintain a project with an increasing amount of "technical debt" in it. Those bugs tend to pile up like a big wave of failure chasing you. If you look on non-gaming software you probably find a lot of tools that can help you in automizing the test…
  • Interesting thoughts but i ask myself "What sense does it make?". IMHO every class should have its dedicated job. Tank, Healer, DPS and Buffing. When looking at the queue system that is exactly what is recommend for a normal party - except "Buff" which is kind of undefined up to now and distributed to several other…
  • That would be really sad - after all i think he did a good job up to now.
  • I could only support the points that @schietindebux made. On top of that comes that certain things don't seem to work for warlocks as they do for GWF like the damage boost from certain weapon enchantments or interaction with AoC from paladins. It is annyoing seeing anytime a GWF doing more damage from prominence…
  • @schietindebux i usally find your comments quite competent and would like to ask what do you think about sacrificing MF and going for dark revelry in temptation tree instead. i currently have a "funlock" damnation build in the current mod where i did this hoping to buff the puppet with DR and i found it surprisingly nice.…
  • can anyone support my feeling that murderous flames only redistributes damage for AoE but does NOT give 30% extra damage?
  • Dear @"balanced#2849" , thank you very much for all of this. I am quite sure that damantion will get really powerfull with all those changes. Allowing the puppet to crit and giving it full buffs will be going to be amazing imho. I really thought that you had have forgotten us a bit, but it seems that you used the time…
  • I could imagine that @"balanced#2849" has to look at all the suggestions that were made and think about how he could incorporate all that stuff in his and the other developers vision of how to go further with the warlock. Further i still think that it is not only necessary to work at the warlock but to bring all classes to…
  • Hello @"balanced#2849" . Can it be that pillar of power puts a lesser curse on a target even if all consuming curse should not be active. Yesterday i was playing around and replaced ACC with no pity no mercy. Other passive power was flames of empowerment. I noticed that targets got lesser curse on them after they were hit…
  • Hello @"balanced#2849" probably you have very much to do with the release of mod 13 tomorrow. Nevertheless i would like to kindly ask you if you could give as an outlook of how you plan to proceed further. Or at least could you give us a date from when on we can expect some statements from your side?
  • My impression after reading several posts on this thread and probably some others is that the whole power share/buffing feats seem to be more a part of a problem this game has than part of a solution that makes this game more diverse and challenging. I think playing around with buffing on power that has already been buffed…
  • Don't want to argue about that - i did not make a screenshot so i am probably wrong :) Nevertheless from my understanding Daggers usually come early in the rotation of a GWF. Even if they do an amount of damage the primary purpose in my opinion is to start building up damage self buff. I think most GWF will go sth like…
  • Yesterday i did an eGWD with my 14k SW-SB (probably damnation loadout) and there was also a ~13k GWF in the party (public q) who had a trans terror on his weapon. We had some rather good buffs and got through the dungeon at a good speed. In the end the GWF did some seriously more damage than i did. I looked at the damage…
  • Of course his numbers only scratch at the surface but the general direction that his statement gives does point in the correct direction imho. If he only does 100% more damage than the dc that need not mean that he is doing sth wrong. Most or at least a lot of the damage a furylock deals comes from creeping death. If the…
