Have you disabled desktop composition on the game's executable? When you start up Neverwinter does all the Windows 7 Aero glassy windows stuff stay on? If so disable that first. EVERYONE should know and do this.

Sounds like it might be a feature in some respects. Hard to create a bunch of characters and send spam mail out then delete the character if the respective mail piece is deleted with the character. Next time get your items before deleting something.
