Now I see what you were asking. Yeah, the Strong Grasping roots become Thorned roots, but they still benefit from the Ancient root Feat. Otherwise, it would be a useless Feat in the trapper tree.

Rain of Arrows / Rain of Swords is a bad choice for a HR Trapper. Rain of Swords is very GOOD for a Combat HR because the bleed effect allows Flurry to proc over and over. The funny thing about HR is the class can be tailored to play completely differently based on your paragon, feats, and encounters.
