I concur with everything you wrote. The whole Gnomes being gone thing is absolutely moronic. I DMed FR in 2nd ed. rules and never bought any later rules afterwards :) I had it tweaked where I wanted it.

Alignments were the best part of the game. In a fantasy world, evil is evil and good is good. You don't have to focus on moral and philosophical discussions after every battle because evil is evil, and good is good. Without alignments, what are you going to do with those baby goblins? I justy wish we still had gnomes. You can play every type of elf that they can think of. Even dwarves used to be of different subtypes. Halflings were subtypes at one time. Why did Wizards of the coast kill the gnome? the deep gnome?

To allow for a fair "greed only" run, please allow everyone to pick "greed only" from their character portrait. Once EVERYONE picks greed only, then it is "greed only" for everyone in that instance of the dungeon. This will disable the "need" button. Never do a greed only run. Until that loot method can be locked and controlled by the whole party, then you are being gullable. I never do greed runs.
