Woe to the fallen adventurer, trust betwixt the trickster's hands Given the choice of his demise, at the fate of a three sided dice Death from a single stare or at the breath of legends To find his mind melted by his new master's commands ? Thinking that a single of those creature would not suffice The adventurer scratched…
To me it'll always be this one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIbZ4wPntOM Especially the first ten or so seconds which really encompass the brutality of the Great Weapon Fighter.
Made it solo with my level 28 (now 32) Great Weapon Fighter. It actually went better than I expected but I'm pretty sure that my Cleric companion is going to ask for a raise because she got destroyed at least twice per fight. Next I'm going to try it on a Wizard and Cleric, should be challenging.
I think it has a lot to do with which edition you started to play or spent the most time with, honestly. Even though AD&D was messed up and overcomplicated in many ways, it still remains "my" D&D edition because it's the one I used when I discovered the PnP. Many people seem to have a hard time letting go, and I can…
I did your dungeon with my two brothers (as a Guardian myself and them both Rogues) and must say that I was quite astonished by the level of work you put into it. It is by no mean short (took us a good two hours and a half I think) but it is beautifully made, full of challenging and interesting fights and really clever in…
I mostly agree. I know that you cannot port the classes from the PnP without modifications but I really do not see any upside to what they did to the Great Weapon Fighter. He's now a fake Barbarian in semi-heavy armor, which means that the real Barbarian will probably suffer in its implementation later on.
Oh I have no doubt that they intend to implement most of the classic classes from the RPG in there but I doubt the Barbarian is at the top of their priority list, and I'm afraid they might try to give him a new gimmick to make him different from the GWF which stole all his moves.
Yeah I wouldn't hold my breath for the Barbarian since what they've known for in D&D (rage, damage reduction, fast battle movement and large life but no access to the best armor) has pretty much been given to the Great Weapon Fighter.
Give it a real role, right now it's too weak to be a real DPS or an off-tank and doesn't have the utility to justify its presence compared to other classes. Reduce their encounter cooldowns, a relentless fighter should not only have abilities with ~14-15s cooldowns. This could also help set them up as a steady DPS option…
Dragonborn would make sense as the first race to hit the store since it's probably going to be really popular amongst players who are new to D&D. Can't say I care that much about them or Warlocks though.
I'm hoping Archer Ranger and Battle Cleric are added first but it'll probably be Avenging Paladin or Two Blades Ranger since they usually are the most popular classes.
Unknown races would not fit D&D and might ruin immersion for some people (especially if they made them more powerful than core races like in Star Trek Online). As far are having only eight races so far, this is a free to play game and they need stuff to sell, we will probably get many more races to play over the years as…
