You can do it right now: Star Trek Online "Fleet Starbases". Will work the same way. They're fun and can really engage a flee..., er Guild.

What - apart from even more grinding - does building/having the Stronghold bring... ...like, as bonus???

Or: What's in it the guild / for me as guild member???

We don't know yet if it's fun.

I am having most distressing ideas that the primary thing that people will be able to donate to their guild will be refinement points....

Of course. They have to do something to make the game harder. And then they'll have to raise the cap to 80...

Boon, I assume. Something like you do something for the Stronghold as a task of a campaign, you get some tokens/points/medal/whatever. Without enough tokens/points/medal/whatever, you can get a boon.

Similar to getting a coffer in WoD and donate it.

all i saw was "archer tower" in PvP.

We have attacking mount already, so I wouldn`t get suprised in getting the turrets like this:

Hopefully the guild assaults are something that has to be queued for, i.e. not forcing pve guilds to participate. As for the rewards, the options are pretty extreme. Check out DDO Airships for an idea. Could be some, none or all of these: boons, vendors, storage (wouldn't count on it since bags seem to be quite profitable).

I think we need to be able to access mini-games within the guild. How about unlocking the twilight run from the winter event, being able to have guild water fights, ice fishing for RP while waiting in queues. :-)

Let's hope yes. Fleet starbases have saved STO's life for 2 years at least. It was the best addition to STO.

I think that's a bit over zealous belief, as I don't see fleet starbases that useful. They added a few things but required a lot of work to get to. Starships pretty much answered most of it, and outside of super strict fleets that required regular meetings I don't see the fleet starbase being that big of a deal in STO.

Amen to that, they're papering over the cracks in NWO with this hoping it'll deflect alot of heat from FUBAR 6. Originality aint Cryptic's strong suit.
