Definitely something needs to be revamped. Rogues should not be the bane of tank classes.
it does. One can only wait until they fix it. I won't give up on my GWF. I love him on pvp and pve, and he does awesome on pvp against everything else, pretty balanced and fun. I just wish the devs would take the pvp part more seriously and ready. It took them a loooooooong time to "fix" gwf when it was op on mod 3. We can only wait I guess.
I kind of hate what they did to tr, not only that is broken, but in the past TRs were always that class that was made for skilled players. Saw the best skilled players play TR on PC, it is really frustrating they made it with the class. Now anyone can play it and do well as long have a little sense for the basics of pvp.

An honest question, and please don't take this out of context.
Is a GWF really a tank? I know that it is much, much harder to take down a GF than it is to take down a GWF. GFs seem tanky to me. GWF not so much.
I still feel that GWF needs a buff. I don't know if they are meant to be more an off-tank, or a bruiser type character, but they really seem kind of out of place. They do a little bit of a few different things, but seem to do none of them really well.
Full disclosure: I do not understand the GWF class at all, so anything I say is just based on my experience playing against them.
An honest question, and please don't take this out of context.

I believe in Sentinel spec they are meant to be an off tank and have HP boosting feats. They are lacking any sort of dodge or evasion abilities so it seems to me they are meant to be tanky to some degree.

Sentinel GWFs are tanks.
Unstoppable on that paragon tree absorbs pretty much 40~80% damage, and you heal hp everytime you unstoppable. I tank better than most tank GFs to be honest when I am running on sentinel tree.
Destroyer tree is DPS, but you don't sacrifice all the tankness given the fact GWFs have natural high DR/Defense and still have unstoppable. So I would say, a pvp destroyer is something in between DPS and TANK.
Instigator tree should not even exist on mod5. it doesn't tank as sentinel and it doesn't dps as destroyer. complete garbage
As a sentinel I can hold nodes a little better, but as a destroyer I kill a lot more without dying that much more. The problem is, even the tank tree sentinel is useless because TRs just get past all that extra DR GWFs have on sentinel (even if I stack 50% deflection and 47k hp on top of all that). i still get hit by crazy hits of up to 30k, and then part of it on shadow of demise finishes me off. If fighting sabouter, the shadow strike does almost the same thing overtime.
As sentinel I don't have problem at all dying for any class (takes long to kill too). As a Destroyer I can kill any class, and I die a little easier. It feels balanced fighting EVERYONE but TRs. well, because again, they ignore my tenacity/my dr, my unstoppable dr (unstoppable is the same thing as stealth is for TRs, you gotta use it when you fill a bar, etc so it is your class feature) and guess what, it is useless against TRs because they ignore it. More? we dont have dodges, so we cant even dodge shadow of demise, shocking execution, and etc. Also, our best CC skill is 18 seconds long and easy to dodge, and even if you hit a good tr with that, they will either instan rise or pop ITC, which basically is better than our unstoppable feature if you think, given the fact that trs have a stupid 75% deflection severity.
But again, I don't think the problem is lack of dodging etc. The class always did fine in the game because our DR and our unstoppable would make up for the lack of dodging. This is gone the minute you give a class features that bypass our only survival when we can't dodge or anything.
this pretty much shows it all. even if it is not the daily. shadow strike, sod, or lashing blade does the same thing. They hit us as if we were mobs. It is just GWFs feel more than the other classes because we have more cooldowns, less efficient CCs, and we don't have dodge to avoid the entire damage of those skills. Basically, no time to fight back not matter how skilled you are.
If we had all our boons, we would have more chance. On mod 5, the pvp build was sentinel stacking about 10k Power without compromising so much the survival stats. So come and get it and daring shouts are both AoE in sentinel tree, but depends on power to have base damage. So GWFs could fight trs better on mod 5. Except, that they nerfed this aspect on GWF on mod 6 lol.
I feel that I've done as much as I can, by way of knowledge in the game from helpful hints, to builds, to gear choices and my beginners guide for PvP in order to help the community get some more enjoyment out of the game and understand PvP as a whole.
Unfortunately, there will always be people making I quit threads, and Nerf this nerf that threads.
I'm going to give you a few pointers that if you actually read this, WILL help you fight against TR's. Understanding the Tip, and implementing it however is up to you.
1. Health. You want to play PvP and do good with any class? You need high health. If you go into PvP with 20k health, expect to get crushed. By bad players, and especially good players. Health is the utmost important stat in this game, hands down. I personally have just under 29k health, and I am doing my best to upgrade my Radiants for more, I suggest you do the same.
2. Defense VS Deflect - Defense is important, to a point. Deflect is much more important. For example, if you have 50% defense, and 5% deflect, you ARE going to get hit hard, why? Because your defense can be crapped on with debuffs, and it WILL be, especially if you are fighting multiple players. Deflect however, cannot be negated. The only encounter in this game(that I know of), that ignores Deflect is Shadow of Demise(TR). I have gone back and fourth over the course of 2 years not using the Math(as its confusing in NW), and instead played by "feel". What I have come up with, is having atleast 25% Defense, then stacking the HAMSTER out of Deflect. Personally on my TR, I have 27% defense and 47.8% deflect, and when I finish my profound set I will have roughly 53% deflect. Having 60% deflect(random number for sake of discussion), and 5% Defense, you are going to get crushed. Take what I say with a grain of salt, but I have over 2 years of knowledge in this game, playing CW, TR, GWF and HR at the highest lvl of PvP, and time and time again I have came back to the 25%defense, then stack Deflect as my basis for any character that I play, and it works very well.
3. CC, and CC immunity. Having Tenacity(PvP gear), is going to give you Innate defense bonus's for Control Effects, Crit Damage, and Overall Damage. Not having any of this, will get crushed. My recommendation is to purchase a full set of Grim armor, as its cheap and very very good gear, for any class.
TR specifically - Impossible to Catch is a utility encounter in the Master Infiltrator TR Tier. Out of stealth, it will break "most" CC effects(everything but Prone), and "Deflect" ALL incoming attacks as well as make them immune to further control effects for 3 seconds(if maxed, if there using it will be). ITC while stealthed, will do the same as above, but they will also gain a 50% defensive bonus. You cant miss it guys, the TR turns Blackish color when activated, and near solid black while used in Stealth. What this means, is STOP WASTING YOUR ENCOUNTERS ON THEM DURING IT!! I hear so many posts about OP TR's, then find out the TR is in ITC and I just have to /facepalm at the ignorance of some players. Go nuts on your at-wills, evade evade evade. If you cant understand the importance of this paragraph, you shouldn't be playing PvP.
Duelist Flurry - Is a very obvious at-will, that takes time to charge up, albeit not that much time. It looks like a "Flurry". It is just an at-will, but it is an insane damage at-will if used correctly, as it stacks on Bleeds up to 10 stacks. I constantly face people in PvP that think its a good idea to try and face tank me during this. For example, I have had 5-7k crit bleeds using this while in stealth(100% crit chance in stealth, means DF in stealth, if bleeds are stacked will ALL crit). Bad players, I don't even use encounters..I kill them solely with DF. End state? DONT stand still like a zombie and get wrecked by an easily avoidable at-will.
I wont go into anymore specific encounters as honestly I'm sure this entire thread will still fall on deaf ears. However, if you aren't listening to the game sounds when playing PvP, you will ALWAYS be at giant disadvantage. You will always hear a sound before the attack, and that holds true with every single class, and every single encounter in this game. Meaning, if fighting a TR for example 1 vs 1, it is very, very easy to dodge our encounters, if you just LISTEN. Hear the sound, dodge>congrats, you just dodged lashing, or deft, or Vengeance etc etc. Are you always going to be able to dodge everything? Obviously no, but understanding how is literally half the battle.
Mounts - Out of 20 PvP matches, I will one shot probably 50 people because they are sitting on their mount on a node.(I don't use the one shot build fyi)., and that is because when you are mounted you will take 100% of the damage on the first hit, as well as it will prone you. STOP SITTING ON YOUR MOUNT ON NODES! Your the first one I attack, and I always kill you, stop it...its bad, don't do it =P
Fighting in general - If you have blinders on when your fighting, especially in a large battle(multiples on multiples, think first cap on 2), then you are generally going to get One shot by some HAMSTER TR using the SoD glitch, because you are easy pickins. I never, ever fight anyone, without being able to see incoming paths. What I mean is while I am fighting, I still will keep eyes on incoming spawn point paths, and paths leading up to my node or wherever I am fighting. You HAVE to pay attention to your surroundings. You do realize that when any player of either team gets killed, it displays a very clear message in the middle of your screen. Why do I care Alysin Chains you ask? Well, if you are capping the enemys node, and you see an enemy team member die, you are a fool if you don't think the next place they are coming is for there home point. Again, pay attention. Understanding the battlefield completely plays a very huge part in my personal success in PvP.
If you come up on a TR capping your node with your buddies, or alone, and you end up chasing the TR away with very little health and you do the right thing by NOT chasing him, and instead cap your node please..please for the love of PvP, stop thinking the TR just bailed and ran away. I kill so many people like this, I have literally been chased off point with less than a bubble, and killed sometimes entire teams on the same node. Why? Because they all got on there **** mounts and thought the node was theirs. A good TR doesn't need a full health bar to fight, or kill you. Again, this goes back to Sight and sound, pay attention to the battlefield, and listen for the sounds and again..stop chillin on your mount on the nodes.
PvP Pots- Guess what? There not shady or cheap and skilless, if you don't use them...your a fool. I use the hell out of them and so should you. Your not a "cool" guy or some elitist by not using them, your just ignorant.
I could literally type a novel of the hints, strats and tips that I've acquired in my 2 years in this game, but ultimately its up to each person on how they play. If you actually read this far and implement even some of what I've said, you will start getting better in PvP.
Please remember that Skill IS the biggest factor in this game, gear next.
I personally have just under a 15k GS in PvP, and I use a Perfect Vorpal. I'm sorry, but even if you are twice as good as me, and you have 6k GS, you will never...ever win against me. Remember that, and don't get upset. Skill is the most important, but having a ridiculously low GS is never going to wind up good for you VS someone that insanely outranks you in gear. But please, stop using the "Wallet Warrior" comment HAMSTER. This games been out long enough for people to earn max gear, that's all rank 10's and perfect weapon and armor enchants. Don't get mad and use gear as an excuse of why you lost. If you know it, that's all that madders...no one else cares.
If you've read this far thanks! I hope that you've gotten atleast something from what I've said. I would much rather the PvP player base excel, instead of constantly sitting in the campfire.
Feel free to add me in game if you've got some questions that you think I can answer, I will do my best to help anyone out, no madder the affiliation.

If you're so good, then I wonder why you use the cheapest class in the game? I shouldn't have to try and mitigate the obvious advantages a TR has by being overly skilled and overly geared. It should be a matter of moves/counter-moves. A TR can run away with a smidge of life left. Can anyone else? No. Freaking stupid. No other class can, so what makes them so special? Can anyone else have an 'invincible for 3 seconds' move that breaks CC? No. Freaking stupid. NO OTHER CLASS CAN SO WHAT MAKES THEM SO SPECIAL.
Bottom line, a BAD TR is going to get wrecked, a decent TR will be great and a great TR is unstoppable. It's got little to do with 'mounts' and more to do with the overall cheapness of the class in itself. Too many ways for them to chase you or run away and stun you. As a DC I can slide like 5 ft. A CW I teleport like 5 ft. A GWF sprints. A TR flips like 10-15' and they use less stamina in one flip than I do in 2 ports on my CW. It's completely unfair.
Yeah, can I kill TR's? Sure, but if I get attacked first I'm done. If I am fighting someone else, I'm done. If I'm starting an ecounter with a TR he can stealth leap into me before an encounter is even cast- and I'm done. I have to literally catch a TR blindsided or in a fight to kill them and that's not the same with other classes.
They need to be nerfed, stamina should take more for every move and stealth should charge slower and be cut in the length of use. Their leap should be 20' not 30' and the invisibility should be popped by AOE attacks.
Yes I am butthurt because I got wrecked a billion times by TR's lol. I don't REALLY want all that nerfed, but can they at least make them a little less OP. Even a TINY bit would make a huge difference.

TR's are a strong class. A well played TR is a very strong class. 90% of TR's in Xbox one are not well played, or well built. They do well against other average players who are also not well built. Taking away the Shadow of Demise glitch will fix many of these problems.
I have never once said "I'm so good", so please lets not go there. I made a thread to try and give some insight as to why people are getting killed by TR's, as most of the population has no clue exactly what abilities and encounters do. They just see themselves getting killed and complain on the Forums.
GWF's and SW's are the only class's currently that have it the worst when fighting a skilled TR, especially if they are using the SoD glitch. That's a different topic all together.
A good CW and HR are absolutely hands down a TR's counter-class. If you don't build tanky as a CW and use a PvP build, then you are going to get crapped on. That's not the TR's fault, its yours.
I have plenty of CW friends that take giant dumps on 90% of TR's all day long. I definitely don't want to listen to your tears of how a CW or DC cant fight against a TR.
Like I said in my OP, "Understanding the tip and implementing it are up to you".
I recommend you make a thread on the CW Page and ask for some help.
Coming into this very helpful, informative thread telling me I'm playing a cheap class and crying all over the place is going to get you nowhere.

Oh blueberry have you even read up on rogues? Stop just saying need rogues cos it's boring and has no merit!? Button bash? Then you're a bad rogue if you do that, some people gear themselves to be powerful in PVP, did you ever think that may be happening? CW are probably the most op class in PVP tbh after all a good 15k gear score guy can own in PVP without any PVP gear! How do I know this? My mates do it!!! Clerics, oh my god they can heal themselves and their teams why should that be allowed!!! Hunters!! Oh why have they got so many CC spells I'm constantly being rooted by them they must be OP ...... Sound familiar!? Lots of classes have powers it's all about how they are used and who you are up against, stop complaining about OP rogues and learn how to counter them!!

CW OP lol. Gezz. some people really afraid of their piercing tenacity skills being nerfed.
These tips are great for the casual pvp player looking to up their game a bit, but the fact that TR's are grossly broken isn't exactly deniable.
Bad TR's get destroyed obviously, but that's the fault of the bad player behind the controller; the class itself is just ridiculous, and this is coming from a scoundrel (arguably the least broken spec of the TR, and that's saying something).
Skill makes a bigger difference than gear most of the time, yes, but when you give a rogue 16k+ GS and a horrifically broken spec (cough MI perma stealth cough), the game just becomes much less fun at other player's expense. Put 2-3 in one game and you've successfully cheesed your way to a win without any real effort. That, to me, is what will be pvp's undoing.
A revamp of the TR is necessary given the current state of the class.
CW's are OP! Point in the name and as I just said I have mates with no PVP gear owning in PVP! How is that any different from a rogue? CW's can 'control' massive areas and do ridiculous amounts of damage! Clerics can spend half the game healing themselves and their team! Why should they be able to do so much healing? Oh wait cos they're clerics .... And why can CW's control so much of an area oh wait I'm getting it now! I'm not afraid of anything getting nerfed I don't use piercing skills lol! My point is the amount of complaining about rogues by casual gamers who just want to own straight away in PVP and then cry when they can't, they don't take the time to find out how to play their own class in PVP and don't find out how to deal with others, I don't use the 2 current glitches for rogues as I don't see the point it's not gonna make me any better, playing more is. I suggest a lot of people remember this is an MMORPG and is designed for the long term not short, grind it out, get better gear, and learn how to play in PVP and you won't struggle against rogues Anymore!
As a pure heals DC, I get to face a lot of TR's. They can be killed and can definitely be held at bay until some DPS arrives at 2..where I'll be...holding off a few of you..lol

A large crowd however will always ask for Nerfs, whether it be a TR, or a CW, or a DC etc etc. Those people will never get better at PvP with those attitudes and fill the forums with mindless "I quit" and "Nerf this" threads.

CW OP lol. Gezz. some people really afraid of their piercing tenacity skills being nerfed.
DENIAL
