Every time I log in my paladin, I get this erroneous error message. Doesn't cause any problems other than that the accompanying audio effect annoys my ears.
Same thing happened with my husband's pally when I ran a cycle of invokes for him. Both are Justice. Mine Devotion and his Protection. If it's not a universal thing, I can try to figure out if it's something with feats or class features. I don't recall it happening for the entire lifespan of this character but it's so hard to say.
On a related note, I also get this "you must equip a weapon" error every time I inspect a paladin with any character who isn't a paladin.
that was happening to my pally every time I changed zones for awhile.. if I logged out and back in it would go away... then it just stopped happening, and I totally forgot about it till you just mentioned it... don't know of any way to fix it, or why it happens, but you're not alone...
just had another thought... do both your pallys have the same weapon equipped... maybe it has something to do with a particular weapon... obtw, you've helped me with a number of questions I've had, and that noise it makes when it gives that error message is ear shattering... :-)

That is a thought. They are both using the Mace of the Holy Knight from the ardent coin shop. I'll test a different weapon.

Foof, spoke too soon.
If I log the paladin in multiple times consecutively, I don't get the error. Happens only on initial log. In normal gameplay, I don't usually log out unless it's to log a different character, so I mistook the normal behavior for being able to blame it on the weapon.
Hmmm, i'm not sure if what I said was of any use at all, but if it was, i'm happy to help Beckylu.... you've helped me out more times than I can count... well ok, i'm sure I could count that high if I take my shoes off.... wiggles toes.... and no that is not my feet you smell, i'm making corned beef and cabbage for dinner :-)

Clever, clever. It is the Mace of the Holy Knight causing the issue. I equipped a different weapon and the sound was gone.
Of course, that does mean I'm fairly well stuck with it until I have a serviceable arti MH, but at least I know!
