Recently decided to come back to Neverwinter and want to try a warlock. Can I get some general advice on leveling a human warlock? (build, gear, companions) Thanks in advance.

are you into pve or pvp?

what do you want to achieve? Maximal DPS? Hybrid survival and DPS? Support role?

Just to level up and learn the class. I have no idea what role I want to play endgame yet.

After looking over the trees, I think I want to try out Damnation for leveling.

bump, would also like to know..

all guides are aimed at level 70 and there is not much info on good leveling builds
currently level 67 and having a hard time in spinward rise...

would be nice if you could list a build along with the encounters

I answered earlier I think something went wrong with the forums updating.

    Reposting what I said earlier..

It will be easier for you to level up using the soulbinder damnation paragon path. The soul puppet will soak a little bit of damage for you and while doing so you're soul sparks will make you much harder to kill, making solo content much easier to deal with.

    Encounters PvE
Warlock's bargain, staple move in your set, fast cast high damage, reflection and self healing. a top choice for pve. The point to This spell is not only it's high utility but ALSO it's curse that is not consumed by powers. Think creatively and use that to your advantage!
Soul Scorch: Highest single target damage spell warlocks have access to
Dreadtheft: Excellent trash clearer, high DPS

The above 3 is what I use for dungeon clearing, for bosses I switch to killing flame. I play a soulbinder fury because I like it better than damnation, I'm reluctant to play it because of the many bugs in the tree (including the massive damage puppet bug)

Harrowstorm is a decent method of building sparks, but I barely ever use it. As for level'ing encounters most of them are trash, stick to killing flame dreadtheft + something.

if you still have a hard time in solo PvE, get your hands on a good leader companion like protection angel, it'll help alot.
    Cheers

I use Harrow storm - SS - DT for trash , always, since its fastest way to build up sparks, and sparks are needed in every moment
    1. to deal damage and second to use dust-to-dust effectivley - no sparks poor damage since no TT every mobgroup
WB generates not much sparks, DT does, but HS is way faster normally
if your crit chance is high enough it may be that you can skip it but you need a very high crit chance to build up sparks in fast time, every 6 sparks is one soul scorch, so one critting HS and you have the bar full in 2-3 seconds sometimes, only works that way on mobgroups
on single target I take WB + SS + KF/HG you could even try HS with good crit chance every tick generates a spark
40-50% of damage is done by TT in my case, and TT is despite nerf a very powerfull daily in game

thank you for your reply denvald :)

it was exactly what I was running, perhaps spinward is a little difficult for a sw, oh well.

Ensorcelled Mulhorand is the new stuff that levels to 70. Exists for all classes.

If you have 150 ardent coins, those weapons also scale to 70 and are BoE.

No ardent coins for me. I'll check out the mulhorand gear.
