I am reading a LOT of negativity in this thread. Despite a very promising often desired expansion being released soon, people are already shooting it down as something that will suck or be one-sided towards PvP players. How about we enjoy the clip and just wait for the release isntead of judging the book because of the cover.

Well, feedback is good prior to any launch. Hopefully the devs listen and can salvage a Module before launch, rather than having to deal with another Mod 6 fiasco.
Yup, its as if we bought what we thought was a home (with our attention, time and for many, money) but instead it was a hotel room, and mod 6 was checkout day.

Well I hope they start taking feedback more seriously and stop the hidden paywalls and P2W aspects. Its not hard to go out and see examples of how better f2p mmo's are doing it. Otherwise this game will go the way of Champions. And that game is a sad state of affairs.
Maybe first some balance for all classes and later strongholds etc?;p i think players would be far more satisfied from balanced pvp than trying to storm 20 people vs 5 paladins? just saying...:f
You know we're been given very little information on this. It's deeply amusing to me that everyone's getting all bent out of shape over how they think this will work, especially since everyone getting upset is essentially making up a worst case scenario and just running with it.

Hey folks! More information will be coming out soon, but I can clear a few things up about Strongholds at launch.
1) PvP will be consensual and opt-in.
2) There will be both PvP and PvE elements of gameplay. There are facets of your stronghold that will be advanced by PvE and some that will be enhanced by PvP.

Sure, this week they had changes scheduled and something came up. Life happens, I'm fine waiting a week, the sky isn't falling, hell hasn't erupted onto earth, etc.

Balance is relative to point of view. That's why there can be only strength and weakness which in some situations may lead to huge unbalance.

Here's the problem.
If you don't want a big fail like The icwindale "PVP open aera" you need to be moore rewardful about he PVP part.
When i started the mod 3 with the open pvp area i knew very quickly that it will turn in a desert, the rewards were so poor and time consuming for nothing considering the way to obtain that following the pve part.
If you still plan to release the champions's league with champion token earned in classic domination or GG, you should seriously think about a guild's league with guild tokens to earn from the stronghold pvp part if you really want to give a competitive side to this new feature and a long term purpose.
So the conclusion is simple, if there are no real rewards or poor rewards for the PVP side will turn in a desert quicly exactely like icewindale, even the Big pvp guilds will loose interest about that due to the lack of potential opponents.

Bloody brilliant. Gotta give the PVPers some love (none since IWD) and for folks like me who ain't got time fo' dat, a strong PVE path to excellence and greater glory. If I know our pals at Cryptic, there will be some shortcuts and circumventions of the grind available thru the Zen store, but then, devs gotta eat, too. I might not have to recruit for my bizarre little guild after all...
