Anyone seen the u-turn by Valve?

Turns out some companies are capable of listening to their customers and making appropriate changes...

We are talking about Valve here. Just compare pvp in DOTA and "pvp aka pay-to-win" in Neverwinter and see the difference.

Also actions speak louder than words indeed : Here we have a company taking actions and actually rolling back within days of community negative feedback instead of talking words ie sending out a message about "we heard you ... we are looking into it"

That's what companies who care about the end product they deliver do.

Listen to what their customers say regarding their product.

The math is quite simple... Happy Customers Using any service = Revenue

I mentioned it in a post.. Seeing as Skyrim Mods are UGC, I thought it pertained to our current Foundry quagmire.

Although I don't think you can draw direct conclusions from what happened there to what should happen here, but I see your point.

Cryptic was fully aware that raising the difficulty by a notch or two would make the least skilled players angry and leaving the game. Valve was only expecting to make its customers happy by selling a new product they thought interesting. There's a huge difference between a store and running a MMO.

I don't care if you're selling cars, houses, or internet entertainment, when 83% of your customers are dissatisfied with a recent product change it's time to take notice and take decisive and timely action.

The issue is that people didn't like mod 6 for a large variety of reasons. I could vote that I didn't like mod 6 for the grind and time it takes to reach lvl 70, even if I liked the other changes. What is irritating is that there's a handful of terrible players with no gaming skills at all using this poll to push their own agenda, ie massive nerfs to pve across the board, when it's clear that it's probably a lot more complex than that.

Let me tell you a little story.

I got all the seals of the elements I needed for the T1 set using my draconic templar + dread legion combo set and spamming ELOL.
Didn't change the set till I got all items of the full T1 set.
I was 1st or second in dmg output in almost all of them.

A dodge here, a dodge there, wait till someone else gets aggro 1st then dish out a crapload of dmg, mobs gone, dungeon cleared.

I'm still crying...because I know if too many people leave, the game will die...and I don't want the game to die.

I don't consider myself a pro gamer, not even average, maybe I'm what you call a "terrible" but what I want when I play a game, is what a game is supposed to do for me, make me feel like "hey! this is fun!" and entertain me.
That final part in particular is lost...especially the stuff I could do solo and kill some time having "fun"
The fun is gone. and that's why people are crying all over the forum.

Entering a zone fearing that some random mob who got aggroed by sum1 else may turn on while having your back turned to it (aka you didn't know it lost aggro from the other player and it's onto you now) and one shot you out of the blue ( Well of dragons, a good number of times) ain't exactly my idea of having fun.

Maybe if the changes wheren't so imbalanced, it would be much more bearable but for example I'm personally tired of getting killed every time I pull aggro at the 1st mini boss in elol...as soon as I start my combo it's :

    1spear (69K hp) soulforged
arcane shift - jump - Pot
(someone else gets aggro at this point if I get lucky and my Plague isn't still burning or I'm done by the 2nd)
    Start dpsing again
    Spear- dead- call for help
    Get revived
    Dps-arcane shift
    Spear
    DEAD

This little ritual has become so repeatable that leaves me thinking I only have two options
    a) not dps at all....
    b) do as much as I can before I die (he kills me by the above ritual EVERY TIME which is now iboring me to tears to know)
and hope my teammates kill him.

And please don't start telling me that the rest of the team is HAMSTER etc etc.
I've played with some great tanks, but for some reason as soon as the damage starts they somehow can't maintain aggro
Is it another glitch/Bug ? I don't know but I'm really tired of it.

Sorry but I can't call this entertainment OR fun and apparently so do a great number of people.

Also, on the so called "elitists", they have to start using their brain a bit more and start siding with the ones that have objections to what has happened with this Mod.

If the game can't keep new players at all and many old "casual" players leave, it means there will soon be no game at all out of the lack or revenue.
It's not like it has never happened before...and oddly under the same formula....that's what bugs me the most...
