How do I become a community moderator?

I'd love the joys of being able to read half of an OP, then decide it doesn't suit my opinion or "isn't productive". I'm assuming they don't get paid?

Just FYI: Opinions cannot be finitely measured. Facts typically can. Therefore, saying "This thread isn't productive anymore. Nope, not one bit." with no evidence of this is opinion. People can bicker all they like in general discussion. It's what forums are for. Show that you've actually done your job and prove there's absolutely NO WAY the forum could be productive to members of the community and devs alike.

I guess suggesting how one should go about their job is unproductive though. I'm sorry for wasting all y'all's time.

    To answer you question:

    Someone higher up must think you're able and willing to spin-doctor criticism and make sure that we all use a language they think the avarage 9-year-old amerikkkan would not find offensive while he's watching cops enforcing apardheit.

    Knowing that i'm right, im looking forward for the layer-404-tomb for this post or the entire thread :D

    imho its more about that 9yo kids parents than the kid himself :D though i wont start about those parents, last time i said what i think of them i got 1000 year ban on another forum :D

    i found this post to be very constructive and very knowledgeable and now im gonna spend money on the game NOT.

    i think we are safe a bit longer, mods seem to be from NA and its between 3 and 7 am there :D

    I'd really like to know whats in them for doing this. Cant be love so it must be either passion or money :D

    passion for being a selfrighteous dbag ? :D though it seems to be improving, its much better now than it was a few month ago and i havent noticed any issues lately

    How to become community moderator? Especially on several different game forums, like some of "our" moderators?

    Just have a "kapo" syndrome: you're always right and you must show your power in virtual world, cos in real world you mean less than a poo.

    I've gotten to know more then a few forum mod's over the years. People like Cuppajo who was with City of Heroes for many a year. There is definitely more constructive ways and less constructive ways of moderating the forums so that they stay a place where you wouldn't mind your 9 year old coming and posting about the game he's playing. Now that being said moderation on the forums here seem to be more about taking out anything bad said about Neverwinter so that if new people check the forums here, they wont see anything overly bad therefor will sign up and end up putting money in the game before they realize what the game is.

    Now, opinions aside about whether Neverwinter sucks or not. If you people are truely this dissatisfied with the game. There are better places to post that then here. (And this is the part that will definitely get this post and thread deleted) Let Wizards know, I have...

    Also there are plenty of online mags dedicated to MMO's that would love to hear your opinion. That will without a doubt get more notice brought to your issues then posting here, a place where your comments get censured and removed before a single dev can even glimpse it.

    With the upcomming M6 fixes there will be also forum fix. "Community Moderator" will be finally renamed to "Cryptic´s Lapdog".

    Now as for Moderator qualifications:
    Firstly you will need a good CV - doesn't matter who's it is, just get one from the web.
    Secondly in your online application, you must delete most of the questions as being inappropriate.
    In fact, it is most effective if you just put your name on a blank page, everything else deleted.

    Some pseudo-military service in questionable conflicts may also help to fill out the paragraph on being socially active.

    And the jobs yours!

    Just play nice and respect the mods. They are bound by the rules, which are VERY lengthy, and yes, open to interpretation.

    They do not have an easy job and generally make good decisions about thread locks and deletes - but they are not perfect, nor are any of you, nor I. :)
