to the people who do this im ranting at you. why do you do it? to feel top dog cause you literally payed to win? i mean whats so much fun about it. i overgear my character but im not putting vorpals and plaguefires on myne i stopped that cause i thought it was far beyond op. i just use dragon bone so im not constantly switching out weapons. i can actually put enchantments in it. im just tired of not having fair matching cause some people have a problem with fair games. and to the mods please dont take this down though i wasnt entirely nice i was making a legitimate point here.
It is a progression based game. Why throw away your progression when you want to try something new? Especially considering you probably will never reach close to the maximum potential on one character with how steep progression is in this game it would be silly not to make use of what you have already earned.
1 simple reason:
"My poopdeck goes deeper than yours."
That's PvP when you can buy yourself 3 years worth of playing efforts at the touch of a button.
Most overgearing PvEers (should) know better and if they overgear it's much slower due to the 3 years worth of playtime required to catch up with someone's wallet. And the 3 years haven't passed yet.
Other than that, vorpals and the like are nothing more than an easy and cheap way to increase your dps, and it's something everyone should consider, not just the elites. Only the elites have perfects where the rest makes do with lessers.
i mean i agree with you and i get it. BUT and its a big but. why trash new players around so much that you dont have anyone to play with later?
I have no idea what the issue is here. I try to get the best highest gear I can get. That's one of the main objectives of the game. I don't pay for them but I have no problem with someone who does. When I get epic or legendary gear I have put in a lot of time and effort getting them or the ADs to buy Them on the TH. Why would I not do that? and as far as "FAIR" matches in PVP, although I do not PVP much, why would anyone not get the best gear that's available? That makes you more powerful and able to beat more difficult opponents. Why would I go into a match "undergeared". That would be stupid. The whole game is centered around winning the best gear. Maybe I'm missing something but it sounds like someone whining cause they get beat all the time.
That's easy enough.
First, and most importantly, they don't control who they fight. Trust me, if they could do that, the only overgeared PvPer you'd meet is a bored one looking for a challenge.
Of course there's also a loud but small group who simply enjoys the sport of hunting newbies. It's usually (but not always) those you see twinking through low level PvP with R10 and perfects.
People pay to have fun like that. So games provide it. That attitude made LoL to the success it has become.
Personally I'd call it an illness at some level, but hey, who am I to judge? I'm just a nubbie after all.
yeah i agree with you. and the people this post was directed at was the ones with r10s. but its still sad.

The reason I would do it is because when I PvP on a new account it usually doesn't take long before I'm being placed against others using high end enchants or premades. If the PvP community in this game had a strong sense of honor or fair play when it came to PvP, I wouldn't mind having it all unslotted and dealing with the rare individual that may decide not to abide by it. Unfortunately it is the opposite here.
Also, I hate PvE, so I do tend to do PvP occasionally when leveling a new character. It is not because I want to beat people who cant compete. It is because I want to be in a competitive environment while still progressing my character rather than just making countless mindless artificial displays disappear.

When people do that they have only one thing in mind: is to win -- be better and as you said, stay on top. Period.

1. When you have played out one or more classes (reached level 60, played out all the end game content and maxed your character) and start a new class, you want to continue enjoying what you've earned. So you twink your new character with the stuff you gained on your old character.
2. In pvp, you want to compete. Which means (given #1) you are going to make yourself as competitive as possible. That way it is a fair fight when you run up against others who do the same.
3. The game allows this, encourages it. If you want to play a game that facilitates your concept of fair play, you should play a game that facilitates your concept of fair play rather than playing one that does not and then calling out those who play by the rules of the game.
I enjoy using the fruit of my labors. Those labors being making a character for every new class and getting them all geared up fairly well and getting all their leadership to lvl 20 so I've got a good surplus of AD and enchants to share around.
When the Paladin hits live server, it'll be a Dragonborn (bought the pack half with Zen earned from AD in-game and half from $) with the Slayer accessory 3 piece set, Dragonslayer Ring, rank 7 enchants for every slot as I get the gear that has them, Red Dragon Heart artifact and all the current class artifacts to choose from, and a Radiance Ioun stone thanks to that 1k Zen promo back when.
But I don't do it for PvP, I do it to plow through the PvE content to get to lvl 60 in a hurry.

Because I'm an adult who makes my own money, and if I choose to spend it here or wherever I want, I don't need yours or anyone's permission to do so. It's as simple as that.
because when i do something i try to do it the best way i can.
especially if i m having fun while trying.
it's not a matter of "i must" "i should" "i need"

Closing this up now. Let's not have threads that delineate what others like or dislike. Worry more about how one plays and less about how others play and all will be well. To each their own.
