Changing EQ appearance

I have noticed that this is a rather restrictive thing in Neverwinter. Has there been any discussion on if this might ever become less restrictive?
I.e. can a TR change their weapon to look like a bow or a symbol if they wanted?

And I was wondering if there was ever a reason given for forcing each class to ONLY look like /that/ class and not allowing a greater degree of customization?

Also if there are new appearance items to be added, and we ever get to use a non-classed (i.e. a priest getting to use a bow appearance) I vote for the dragon cult's weapons. Green girl's bow anyone? ;)

    A TR stabbing someone with a bow would look strange to say the least. But I would like to see some more customization, maybe through transmute items? I don't really have any good ideas, but it'd be nice to see some more customization as to what kind of weapon we can hold. Right now Fighters (both kinds) seem to be the only one that has multiple types of weapons, and even then they are mostly swords.

    Good point about the melee attacks using a ranged weapon. So maybe allow only ranged for ranged, but open up the melee more? Granted a TR using two massive battleaxes might be a bit much as well. lol

    Feh, plenty of TR event skins look like massive battleaxes to my eye anyway.

    Every class has their own attack animations. Using different class skins would be... strange, at best.

    When Rangers were being tested, they used shields for melee battles........which was cool!!! :cool:
