Temple of Tiamat: The respawn location is now at the campfire instead of the door.
Items and Economy
Ghost Paladin companion is now classified as a Defender. No other changes were made.
Hearts of the Dragon may now be used to refine artifacts (except the Heart of the Red Dragon).
Imperial Dragon Cloak is now bound when purchased with Linu's Favor from the Tyranny of Dragons Campaign store.
User Interface
The Guild Mail tab is now functional again as well as restoring the 'Guild Mail' permission in Guild Settings.
Performance and Stability
Graphics memory texture has received and update and will now start to throttle the size of requested textures after texture memory reaches a certain size based on your system. This will decrease the visual fidelity of textures when in high load areas and increase overall performance and smoothness. In addition, it should reduce the amount of client crashes that can occur due to out of memory issues.
Any news about the "PvP surprise"? Its been several weeks now since you said that its coming next week. And we are kinda waiting for it week after week. Just let us know so we dont anticipate that much

Outstanding!
Might I suggest a further addition? How about always preloading tiny (8x8) grayscale/single-color textures so that when texture memory gets really critical, it always falls back to one with a "close" color until more texture memory can be freed. That could potentially eliminate crashes due to inadequate texture memory. Yesterday I had one of those crashes in the middle of a Tiamat fight, and when I got back in, wound up in a different (bugged) instance. I'd gladly take loss of fidelity over a crash any day, especially since my laptop already has the best video card it can support (so I can't upgrade it further).

I can't wait to test this
Is the /reduce_mip setting still neccessary after these changes?

Oh, signs of life in 2015, yay!
The above is interesting. I wonder if there isn't some sort of leak that needs killing too, as I get the texture issues really frequently, on a card with 3GB of dedicated memory, when running in only 1920x1200. However, I suppose the throttling will help mitigate this anyway- even before you find a putative leak.
Glad you're working on this, though. It's a real pain when PvP explodes into squares and you can't see what you're doing- snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

This sounds like this will increase performance rather than quality if I am not mistaken?
I actually have the opposite problem, I never experience frame rate drops, crashes or the slightest flicker of stability even with a 4K monitor.
Instead I experience a horribly slow graphics load times and it feels like the client dumps texture information the first chance it gets in order to improve performance, stability...etc...which I don't need it to.
For instance my Perfect Bilethorn is more often a jumble of shiny squares than bubbling poison. After it loads if it is taken off the screen (for instance opening an interface which blocks the view of my character) it will take at least 15-30 seconds to reload the texture even in low graphic demand situations.
I would absolutely love being able to not have graphic data dumped from the RAM so quickly. I have plenty to spare and would love to play the game seeing animations rather than the electric light show I currently experience.
Firstly, please do not make SW FoTM ever, just a few small tweaks to make them competitive.
Secondly, grind, that what is keeps people interested in PVE, rewards for effort put in. Killing in PVP should be the same, grind them down and you get a kill, you earned it.
Thirdy, short term gains are always that, short term. Makes sure when you are doing your $$ profit calculations you keep this in mind. The people spending money on FoTM OP toons will quickly loose interest and find another game to play if/when things are more equal, and things need to be more equal soon or the old guard will move on.

From what i have read so far this an nvidia issue, doesn't happen on ATI, could be wrong.
I have an nvidia GTX770 and graphics atm are terrible, and other people i know only have these graphics problems with nvidia cards on NW but not the other games they play.
Pressing ESC multiple times fixes the squares but not the sky on the ground.
Eventually the ground sorts itself out, but really detracts from game play.
is there a possibility to upgrade the passive companion slot space? i can't buy new slots and there are plenty companions i wanna bind to my character.
p.s. nice update, thank you

I have the same card and have experienced the same problems. The ironic part is that I bought this card because the game recommended it at the time and I wanted good video performance. I'm very happy to see this addressed and am looking forward to seeing if it resolves the issues

Nope, plenty of AMD users have complained about dancing squares, I think quite a large percentage of the playerbase will get some use from this change, if it works.

Aye. ATI Radeon HD 7770 here and I get the 8-bit style, my little-pony land, transcending reality graphic issues too. Tried both DX9ex and DX11, happens on both.
Do we know if this graphics change fixes the graphical texture issues that we've all been experiencing recently, EverQuest I's graphics look better than my neverwinter graphics currently, and that's saying something...
I only get these graphical issues in Icewind Dale and PE (and in PE usually only around the manycoins bank). I'm running dual 660ti's. (with 16gb system ram and 4gb vram). Posting in the hopes it helps.

Jewelcrafting is still on game, haven't checked Gateway lately(no time). As for the graphics, I noticed this often happens when STO and NWO servers are overcrowded, which at times of events is natural.

I haven't checked the Preview shard, but Jewelcrafting is working fine for me in the live game, and on the preview Gateway and Live Gateway.

or was that the same like "next week you guys will get a PVP surprise" and no surprise at all.
