Auction hous and bidding question

Why do Auctions become closed to bidding when there is only like 1 min left?

The whole point of Auctions is so that the price goes up.
Technically an Auction is 'closed' when the timer runs out. So why is it closed before that?

    About this... I have a problem..
    How is possible that someone is able to bid AFTER this "1min limit" ???
    I saw my bid surpassed 20-30sec before the auction end... without any chance to bid again!!

    Is this a bug? an exploit? please fix this!

    I was baffled with this mechanic myself once I started playing Neverwinter, however that's the way it is. I doubt they will change it.

    Its just the worst auction house system you will see in any game. Its slow, buggy and really dosent serve its purpose on the bidding like you say

    It was a fix to keep last moment exploitation from happening through the Gateway and in-game simultaneously. For further details, you'd need to write a support ticket and see if they'd tell you. Which I doubt.
