Server problems again?

Are they hAving server issues again? I played all day and no problems, now I'm getting SNR every few minutes, No it is not my ISP

    Many others are able to log in just fine. Please do perform a traceroute and nettest and post the results instead of blindly blaming the server without proof. This will also assist in determining where potential problems may lie.

    When we ask for these tests, we are not "blaming the user" or your ISP. We are simply asking for a snapshot of the route your data is taking from your PC to the server.

    It's the same for me. I was having the same problem. I tried restarting my router and all, even exiting the game and coming back. But when i exited the game and tried to come back it never let me play the game, its been going on for about an hour now. I can open the updater, but i cannot play the game.

    Again, no one is blaming you or your ISP for the issue. Latency and disconnection issues can be caused by something as simple as a regional snag, or a bad relay between points A and B that isn't even owned or controlled by your or Cryptic's ISP. This is why we ask for traceroutes and nettest results. It provides a snapshot of your route so that the IT team (or other tech-savvy posters) can determine if there are regional snags or bad relays and work from there.

    Please perform the tests outlined in this sticky in the first post.

    It is working fine for me, although I often enough see the issues you describe. Do the tests, if they are fine, they are fine... it tells where to look. Without posting the results of the tests, you are wasting your time because no one can help.

    I think you might have some loss going on.

    You have hops partially timing out all over the place, starting from hop 4 and continuing throughout (which is what the asterisks are indicating). I'd do what charonous suggested, as it's rather difficult to pinpoint much from that trace.

    I don't think the problem is at Cryptic's servers. You're getting total packet loss at hops 9 and 15....and 15 is a long time trouble spot that unfortunately Cogent seems unwilling or unable to address.

    For you, assuming you let it run and it stayed stuck like that. I think that only happens when the packet loss is so severe it can't calculate it. I'll try to look up more on it when it stalls out to be sure.

    There are two peoples test results here. Your indicate problems every where. If I had to make a swag, I'd say that in your area there are network problems and that they'll get repaired eventually. Your tracert indicated problems and pathping didn't even correctly run. That's my guess anyways.

    If my guess is right, and that something needs to be repaired only a short time as whoever controls things fixes it. Hours to a couple days absolute worst case scenario. Remember that is just my guess from how even the tests are erroring out on you.

    You have loss at hops 3, 7, and 11.

    3 is owned by comcast
    7 is cogentco which is it's own nightmare
    11 is also congentco

    3 is likely your isp having issues

    The cogent problems well there isn't a good solution. Cogent has been causing pretty much every game intermittent trouble with some customers. I'm sorry but I don't have a good solution there. It's pretty much a nightmare.

    Well ****, I was afraid of that. I was really hoping it could be something fixable. Oh well, is what it is.

    We had a comcast tech out yesterday that said we were getting a lot of interference from our neighbors line and supposedly fixed it. It does seem to have improved overall since then, but well. Comcast. What else needs to be said.

    Call comcast up again and give them that pathping with the loss on it. Getting that fixed will be step one. It's likely that that interference is causing the problem at hop 3. Just keep at them, I have comcast too and if you keep at them long enough it does get fixed.

    Call comcast up again and give them that pathping with the loss on it. Getting that fixed will be step one. It's likely that that interference is causing the problem at hop 3. Just keep at them, I have comcast too and if you keep at them long enough it does get fixed.
    I also have Comcast and have had them for over 10 years now. I agree. A lot of times, when those of us who know a thing or two on traceroutes, hops and generally just how the internet works call them up to complain, we're often met with it "not being their fault." But after complaining a few times, they either "see the issue" and fix it, or the issue mysteriously "goes away." All in all though, Comcast is the best choice right now in the US, when taking into account our current issue the bandwith throttling fiasco going on in some ISP and Bandwith providers.
