We really need a new mailbox in Well of Dragons...
I want just to show you our timers...
i'll use 11a.m as an example
11:00 ~ 11:25 Tiamat Time
11:25 ~ 11:45 *BLACK HOLE THAT TELEPORTS YOU TO PROTECTOR* or simply daily quests.
11:45 ~ 11:55 Dragonic Heralds
11:55 ~ 12:00 See the Tiamat's Door until next Tiamat
With a new mailbox in Well of Dragons (there is a nice spot near vampire's house) we can really earn a lot of time to do something in the new zone... like heroic encountes or something like that!
That's all fine and well, but do you have any idea what a metallic dragon charges for carrying mail? And I don't see a pigeon carrying a full body armor either. Wings do not a Hedwig make.
What about Swallows?
Maybe two of them?
Carrying it together?
On a line?
Held under the Dorsal Guiding Feathers?
...........Because SOMEONE had to do it..................
'Wen considered the nature of time and understood that the universe is, instant by instant, recreated anew. Therefore, he understood, there is in truth no past, only a memory of the past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. Therefore, he said, the only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.' Terry Pratchet The Thief Of Time

A dev during one of their meetings: Oh I got an amazing idea and the community will love it! let's release a new artifact which will create a portal for an adventurous mailman, at legendary lvl the mailman will read your email and even ask you for a confirmation when you send an email "Are you sure you want to send this email to...? If you send it to the wrong player, you will never get back your items", he can also mass delete all your messages and ofc you will be able to withdraw whatever you receive by email.
Please deliver the mail to the door where the infernal beast from the nine hells is rising.
Thank you,
X
PS I don't mean my mother-in-laws house.
Dear Patron,
This presents a safety hazard. The previous carrier often complained of noxious fumes, a slippery walkway, as well as frequent electrocution, corrosion, and rampant combustion. The previous carrier was also bitten five times, in one delivery instance. The pepper spray we are provided does not work in this particular situation, it merely infuriates the creature. We are experiencing problems negotiating the use of metallic dragons with management, it seems their vet bills are too expensive, and there is no current method to safely remove their droppings from our loading dock.
Please put a box at the end of the driveway, thank you.

Even the 'The Primitive Screwheads' of the old west (U.S.) had the pony express. In this world of enslaved imps and Magic Mouths, we can't figure out mail routing? If Kevin Costner can do it (Postman,) it should be null perspiration for our beloved Lord Protector.
Edit.. I'd bet gold rilks to doohickeys that Terry Pratchett would have no problem at all sorting this out.

Yes, but would unleashing Mustrum Ridcully on the poor, unsuspecting Mages of the Forgotten Realms really be worth it?
I mean, what happens when he decides that my Warlock is "UNHYGIENIC"?!?!
I shudder to think...........

LOL~ Point taken, but between Elminster and (* am I mixing worlds?) tinkerer gnomes, you'd think they would come up with something..
Neverwinter post couriers are just a bunch of lazy cowards
We need mailboxes all over the world map - not just all of them concentrated in one place.
Well, all right we have 1 in IWD (hurray) but come on expand already!
The auctioneers should also think about opening their departments worldwide [whistles...]

Yes, in that vein,...
Let's have that fine chap at the auction house take a look at things.... He seems to have figured out a way to get items delivered from adventurers anywhere in Faerun. Surely, he could show those chaps at the Post what for. We can't be sticking to old ways just for the sake of being old, you know. This is the Century of the Fruit Bat. Must be keeping up with the times, mustn't we?

If we're going to talk about how likely it would be to get mail delivered around the world in Faerûn in order to argue for or against having mailboxes/couriers in zones outside Protector's Enclave or even Neverwinter itself, we should first look at how it is now.
These mailboxes are tiny and there's only two of them in Protector's Enclave. They can magically send and receive any size item, animals, monsters, and even real people of any gender and race! Not only that but they can send and receive these for any individual in the Realms at the same time with scores of other individuals!
Then there's that Courier... shifty fella... somehow he stands there and is always there, always...there. He has some sort of magical means to do the same thing as the mailboxes! I mean, where does he put them or get them from!? He surely cannot be mortal... perhaps a magical automaton.. that needs some study, yes... hmmm
Oh yes, anyway... with all that in mind, I think it would be quite probable to have these same magical devices placed in safe areas around Faerûn. Indeed. Might want to keep that Courier in the City though... academic research and all.
Zeb, there are at least five mailboxes in PE, including the one in the garden rooftop.
The only ones I could recall was the one up by the Temple of Tyr and the one by Corial Street Gate, oh yes, one outside Moonstone Mask and one inside the VIP area. I did forget about the upper garden area too. That just shows how common these can be reproduced! There's even the one in the Summer Festival area! Then we have the one in Caer-Konig and another in Twilight Tor as well.

SSHH! Xarzith'dos Recycling Company doesn't make mailmen golems. He probably has a Bag of Holding combined with a Sigil Portalling Rune.
Argueably though if the mailbox can be found in Icewind there's a possibility one got placed in Well of Dragons for all those important notes the Harpers, Emerald Enclave, and the like exchange. Mind you the fiddly fey magic never allowed one in Sharandar.
I think Eleminster is using the weave for chronomancy enough nearby Mystra is saying no to a mailbox at the moment.

Omfg this thread is making me laugh I am sure we could set up some inter planer mail delivery system to safely transportour items between zones, I mean, why would we not be able to afford to stabalise a portal solely for the conveniance of collecting our post If that fails I am sure we can bribe elminster to set up a delivery system for us, I mean seriously, for him it can't be as difficult as turning back time which he manages to do ~81 times/hour, in every different instance of tiamat's temple. Although, maybe cair coning and protectors enclave are living entities and mailboxes as well as courriers are BoP...they managed to get a hold of all of those which are available and use them, thus the technology is now bound. Who knows...as obviously the art of creating such wonderous technology is now long lost...
