There are ALOT of things in Neverwinter that we would all like to fix. I put down three EASY things to implement (I guess Easy is relative) however that would not take much time to do, that would really go a LONG way in the community on BOTH the PVE and PVP sides of the fence.
1) Remove the Pay-Wall by granting ALL EXP earned to RP on any Artifact Equipment.
- Artifacts would be optional, but artifact equipment has LONG be touted as the "Pay Wall" that creates a massive divide between the player base. There is NO way to really "farm" RP in game so players are forced to buy RP, or as we see very commonly, bots are used.
HOW THIS WOULD WORK:
- Pretty simple really. Any and all EXP earned while having an artifact equipment piece equipped, gets that "overflow" EXP to count as RP. Most quests at 60 grant something like 4k EXP, so even doing 20 quests a DAY equiv of EXP would still take atleast about 40 days + to get an artifact to max rank (Assuming about 3M total needed). This seems reasonable to me and players who want to expedite the process can pay for zen and buy RP to speed it up.
HOW TO MONETIZE THIS:
I get the objection, remove the "pay for RP" and how will Neverwinter make money? Easily. You can monetize the RATE at which you earn RP from EXP.
An easy adaption to this idea is to SPLIT EXP->RP based on the number of artifact equipment equipped. Have 4 pieces equipped, earn 4k EXP EACH item earns 1k RP. You can offer items that will offer FULL EXP to ANY/ALL Arti Equip equipped for a limited duration. Say 500 zen for a 24 hour consumable.
Another way to do this would be continue to offer EXP boosters, RP boosters as well. You can STILL offer pure RP stones too. This just opens up more avenues for players to achieve what is locked behind a pay wall right now.
Also this re-introduces old modules and recycles them since players may want to take advantage of those dailies for the EXP->RP.
Also, events that offer double EXP are now extra rewarding to players at lvl 60 who wont really have any benefit right now.
Double RP events can either work with this EXP system OR just apply to stones which would still be profitable. If NW wants to make bank again, THIS is how they will move forward.
This removes the divide between players and allows people to actually PLAY to get gear in the game. But still PAY to speed up the process drastically.
HINT: Players want to feel like their dollars spent in game actually MEAN something. Getting 50k RP for RL Cash DOESNT get you anything (unlike a mount where you can ride it, or cosmetic where you can SEE it). You spend $ once and your item may not even be better than before either, so why would you spend RL $?
This way you can SEE the buff, you can take advantage of it by PLAYING, and your reward is EXTRA RP from the EXP!
2) Take the existing T1 dungeons and create a harder version.
- Currently there is NO difficult PVE content. It would be pretty easy to take those "heroic" dungeons and make them "legendary dungeons" by adding another 10-15 levels to the NPCs inside there. Players are able to get massive GS now and before 12-14k GS back pre-mod 1 was good, now players are over 20k and could easily tackle things 10+ levels above them.
HOW THIS WOULD WORK:
ALL you do is add another 10-15 levels on the monsters in the T1 dungeons, so it will ALL scale upwards and become much more difficult.
You do need incentive to play, so just as you are creating a new "Drow PVP sets" you can take the old T1 armors, add overload slots to those and beef those sets up quite a bit to be on par with the Drow PVP sets (stat point wise). This gives incentive, takes very little work.
Dungeons are already PRE-MADE and this will last the PVE community a LONG time having REAL challenging content to face.
3) Take Pieces of both Sharandar and Dread Ring and turn them into PVP maps.
- We have been playing the SAME two maps for a year and a half now. YOu already have GOOD areas built that would suffice for PVP maps in both Sharandar AND Dread Ring.
HOW THIS WOULD WORK:
You have areas that are the perfet size/shape/layout ALREADY built for PVP but just inside those bigger maps and have PVE mobs in them.
All you would need to do is copy and paste that smaller area inside Mod 1 and mod 2 but paste into an isolated area then throw them in the Que system. Heck, you dont even need to add domination if you dont want.
EASY possible gametypes could be a "deathmatch" where its "first team to 50 kills" or even something like a SINGLE node domination. This could be a node 2x the size of normal nodes. I could see both being VERY popular.
Worst case, there are TONS of areas on both mod 1 and mod 2 that would make AWESOME PVP maps, just run through the campaign on your mount with that in mind and youll see! Copy/Paste DONE. No QC needed there!!!
These are THREE EASY fixes to the game, that would not take a TON of coding time or DEV time at all, but would go a LONG way in giving players what they would like to see in the game:
1) Removing the paywall
2) Better challenging PVE content with rewards
3) More PVP content.
The right to command is earned through duty, the privilege of rank is service.

Love the ideas, but especially #1 is most likely to never happen.
Artifacts should level with you and never be fed in a endless grinding system with a terrible UI inherited from the Champions Online fusion system (that actually worked and should not have been modified in the first place!).
All feedback about the amount RP needed is currently not player friendly was ignored before and I see no recent news indicating otherwise.
Going further on #3 -- it doesn't even have to be from just Sharandar or Dread Ring, I'd love to be able to PvP on any of the existing maps if it meant getting a much needed change from Hotenow Domination and Rivenscar Ruins. A deathmatch in Protector's Enclave would be a lot of fun!
Perhaps more realistically, they could also just turn the two PvP zones from Icewind Pass and Dwarven Valley into maps that are que-able for PvP. This would be even less work since the nodes are already set up and the zones were designed with PvP in mind.

Ahhhh.. New PvP maps, if only...
I remember some people long ago actually went through the trouble of creating maps in the foundry - they were ignored.
I new game type would be even better though. New game types will help to kill the current meta gameplay. Deathmatch is a terrible game mode though and deff doesn't belong in a class based PvP system. CTF, Objective Capture, Onslaught, Conquest, Resource Domination, plenty of better choices that can be legitimately competitive,
I like 1 and 3, but realistically, don't see one ever being implemented. It is a business, and as such, they've found a method by which to squeeze money from their player base.

#1 is REALLY needed TBH, this gives all players ways to get that gear by playing. Also creates incentive to revisit old campaigns to do the dailies there as they now get RP for doing those, so youll see ALOT of players repeating content for that EXP credit.
Also something to note is that you dont get the mainhand arti-weapon until end of module 4, so even if you do get EXP->RP that just means doing all of module 4 just to go back and re-do all the dailies again for that EXP just to help level the dang thing.
Honestly this would be a TON of fun and maybe even get more sales since more people will see the "end" in sight on this and possibly willing to drop some cash to speed it up.
Is it really hard to make maps or something? The foundry people get a lot done so the lack of maps is weird.
As for the rp. They probably have it in their heads that all the money that was going towards the botters was lost sales for them. That's total fantasy like saying every pirated game is a lost sale rather than a consequence of pricing/inconvenience of purchase (no one wants to use origin/uplay/arc). So basically we need to wait for them to figure out people aren't going to buy 92 blood rubies to level each artifacts. Or maybe enough total idiots in the pvp arms race will. Assuming they don't they need to figure out what to do once they don't see a surge in sales. Probably guild gear from guild housing. What won't they steal from sto? A functioning pvp system hue hue hue not even kidding.
Pve is crippled a long time now. Legendary dungeons have been asked for plenty. Dunno. They could provide content in sto. Not here though.
i m still trying to figure out what i will be doing after unlocking the offhand on my second toon.
upgrade it maybe?
how??
it's not like a care about not being able to farm RP, i can buy them with zen you know...but how to farm zen if there are no ways to farm ADs???
wasting 3k $ is a big NO NO
or....30 tiamats runs for another 1.5% critical severity??? is not going to happen

Well personally I dont think PVP maps are hard to make, every comment we have got on the subject from a DEV is that it takes alot of time and quality control - which just seems laughable to me TBH.
They also said NO to foundry PVP because they didnt want to split the PVP community. Which has some merits but its a cop out IMO. Basically them saying "we know our content sucks, so we dont want you to create your own or noone will play ours"
And I agree, giving players a way to earn RP in game isnt taking away sales. What they need to do is revisit their pricing. If they want sales its REALLY simple:
1) Make EXP-> RP as mentioned here
2) Look at how LONG it takes to complete say 3-4 quests. Call it 10-15 minutes? Then assign a PRICE to skip that 15 minutes of gameplay. Call it $1-2? Since Zen is 500:1 typically. You buy 2000 for $20, so:
$1-2 = 100-200 zen so a 10k RP stone should cost 100 zen. BOOM. Also things purchased in the zen store should be BOA (also something brought up before).
But NOW youll have people who are willing to FARM in game maybe 1/2 - 2/3rds of an artifact equipment and then drop maybe $30-40 into the game to get it the rest of the way. I know id LOVE to support a game where I could do that. Id actually SUPPORT the game this way. Rather than feel like they are trying to STEAL my money with how much RL $ it takes to level an item to max.
I'm not suggesting they use player made maps I just mind it comical that they can't throw something, anything together and after they've given us the map making tools and given that its obvious that its not that hard its even baffling. And lol on the quality level excuse. The current maps are so incredibly basic. They are probably correct on the population but at the same time that just makes their lack of effort more disgusting.
Pricing they're gone for the whales. That's just who cryptic are. I doubt they uturn on that. Like we have a gear reset coming sooner rather than later. If you played their other games or know people who have you know that's in the mail. I'll be curious to see what that's like when it arrives and will the monetisation be less vampire squid like.

Well whats REALLY silly is this is a casual MMO that should be geared towards casual players (aka the players who would casually throw $20 at the game). For things like Mounts, it makes sense. Its a big impact to your game to spend $20 to get that added movement that will last for the rest of your gaming life in NW. But how much does $20 get you in RP? Its a JOKE!
Also to fix the Foundry issue, they could easily just make Foundry PVP ONLY available during the Foundry hour. I mean its a wasted hour already, this would give people a way to play HOW they want in PVP during that hour, also give premades and easy way to que up on a certain map at a certain time for almost a guaranteed game.
You can also monetize EXP->RP system. For example, you can refine only one item at a time. To unlock another one it'll cost you 1k ZEN. You could probably increase EXP->RP rate via ZEN, let's say, basic 1:1 would become 1:1.5 for 1k ZEN. Or something like, you can only refine via EXP up to green, to get the access to blue you'll have to pay 500 ZEN, to purple - another 500 etc. Just need to adjust prices as I threw them randomly.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz
If PvE is that easy, why is there always so many "lfg" in chat for any normal PvE lair? Why not do it alone if PvE is just that easy?
Or maybe people say it's easy because they're not accustomed to actually do the quests alone.
Perhaps what we already have up to the new module can stay that way in difficulty - let those who wanna do it do it, alone or not.
But the new content coming, including this new module we're still waiting for to work properly should really be different in more ways than just one, as in difficulty. Besides, the majority of people aren't brandishing the best equipment and rank 10 enchants or five epic companions, and the difficulty for lone players is just about fine.

Oh I know it's a good and fair idea it's just I believe it goes against the pay model of the game, which is desperation. NWO isn't the worst f2p model I've seen by far but it's also not a very good one.
I believe for this same reason there will never be GS Tier based PvP queue, when you think the only reason X players won is because of gear you're more willing to buy it, or quit, either way F2p games work like restaurants, they want you in, pay some money and get you out to make bandwidth room for more customers. People who want to stay 2 hours with 1 cup of coffee aren't the ideal customers.
The artifact weapon is prolly the easiest champagne aside from Dread Ring, you can get it far before you complete the others, esp since you can start before lvl 60.
Well this is exactly what I was thinking too. Rather than JUST offering RP stones in the zen market now, you could offer XP boosters.
Or another idea is to make it so if you have multiple Arti-Equip on, it SPLITS the EXP between the items. So if you want to power 1 item fast, youll ONLY equip that one. Have 4 equipped per-se and each only gets 1k from a 4k Quest.
You can have EXP boosters, RP "Boosters", Consumables that enable FULL EXP->RP for 2 items, or 3 ETC....
I mean allowing this idea opens up ALOT of ways to monetize it. Seeing as this is the direction the game continues to go. It only makes sense to start turning THIS into a microxaction.
The pay model they have now makes no sense.... You can buy how much RP for how much RL? And where does that get you? NOWHERE!
Give a SLOW in game way to achieve that item, THEN give a way to BOOST that in game. Events like double RP weekend, you could be at a 1EXP:2RP rate! Or double EXP weekend would be a boost as well!
I mean it literally is a FAR superior model to what it is now.

Id just like to quote this as I think this also rings true. Both OW Dom maps are already built for it, just swapping those into Domination Que + remove the NPCs would be AWESOME as well. Very simple and easy to do. Cant imagine this taking too much time at ALL to implement.
Id LOVE a change of pace as currently I just cant bring myself to play. With the Paywall, lack of PVE content and lack of PVP content its just frustrating.
Hopefully they listen!

This would give us PvPer more incentive to participate in PvE
I would also like to see new PvP maps more detailed, real areas with buildings, trees etc. For instance, a gear on GG PvP nodes allows some tricky plays, imagine a couple of trees on PvP domination node, or a node inside of two-storied house. May be some triggers that would fire a barrage of missiles on a certain area which would help to clear it, or an allied NPC like Amusud.

I've always been puzzled about how XP, the basis of D&D, is fundamentally useless in NW, except for the first 1-2 weeks of getting your character to lvl 60. They added the overflow experience thing, but apart from the occasional peridot, it is hardly useful (an average of 60 quests to get a peridot or 2 r4 enchantments, and maybe a power point).
Cryptic made the various XP types matter in STO, they should do the same for NW!

I agree. In the past, with less "twink gear" and no "exp boosters" and people rarely had even rank 8 enchants, it took much longer to hit max level.
Now with all those things like the ancient weapons, max enchants, exp boosters, getting to level 60 takes mere hours.
Whats silly is there is SO dailies, which are not THAT bad, but the WORST thing about wanting to level up new characters is the Ad required now to get artifacts up to par just to be able to compete.
You can work on multiple boons at once, and get those with decent ease, but the artifact equipment and ALL the AD it takes to level those is insane.
I really hope they visit this to make EXP convert to RP somehow.

...or, like me you gave up pvp, even have pretty much only doing that for months. I used to have blast with hundreds of matches between 4-5 classes a week, but alas they did the following.
- The game is no longer alt friendly, it is now a very alt unfriendly game, apparently their market studies must show them , people with one character give more to a game, I cant figure that out, but that's what they are aiming for.
- Power creeping has gone through the roof and unless you are willing to spend all of your AD on one toon alone, forget it.
- new players have the worst, the amount of actual AD you need to level 4-5 artifact pieces to legendary is insane, just forget it, move to a different game, thats the best suggestion I have.
- There is simply no way anyone in thier right mind would "EVER" possible buy the blood rubies from the zen store, the return of investment is terrible. It should be AT least 250k for the price they are selling it at.
- Yet somehow, people still buy junk , go figure.
THE # one complaint at the moment is RP for me, RP , then RP.. then tiamat bugging out would be forth..

Im right there with ya.
Up to module 2 I had 3 characters with all about rank 8 enchants. Had zero problems in pvp since ALL there was were a small 300ish point value difference between my characters and BIS characters. Easily could compete and DID.
Module 2 brought artifacts -> Condensed down to TWO rank 9 characters to keep up with artifacts/AD supply as well as now BIS characters could get alot more stats than someone who wasnt.
Module 3 i could keep about two characters.
Module 4 with artifact equip killed it for me. I had to sell it all and condense to 1 character and STILL only afforded orange belt, and had to settle with a Purple weapon.
Again, still keeping the "point spread" narrow between full BIS and myself.
Module 5 though, I have not even logged because it costs too much AD to get good gear.
As you mentioned hte power creep is UNREAL. Looking at the Tier 1->Tier 2 difference, is PEANUTS compared to an orange artifact belt versus a higher "tier" epic belt. Its just silly HOW much that upgrade gives in stats.
This has causes the GS on BIS players over 20k easily back when 12-13k Pre mod 1 was not bad.
But back to the beginning, it ALL stems from "casual" players or even "alts" un able to keep up with the BIS items even through PLAYING the game. Its only those that pay or exploit that really can keep up. Which is why there has been so many issues of bots/exploits in the game.
The time it takes to get these things is unreal, so people try and find shortcuts.

Or imagine a 5v5 with just ONE node in the middle, thats maybe 2x larger than an average node.
5v5 single node domination, more "KOTH" type of game. Basically every respawn mimics that initial "rush" at mid where its 5v5.

That, IMO, would be amazing!
