I'm amazed that people still sticking around with the lack of pvp updates, on the reddit forums w/e the cryptic guy was said "there's no plans to add more to the pvp side of the game atm, but maybe in the future." To me i found there was alot of people pvping at the beginning.... with the lack of pvp updates its prob the reason why is not popular anymore.
Pvp makes money... making maps doesn't cost alot, you can even just get the community involved making them, so you're not taking much time from the devs...

Alot of this could easily be solved by actually having multiple entries into pvp based on class averages, tenacity percentages , weapon/armour enchant levels.

You take a class average, take a average tenacity picture and a average weapon level snapshot every 60 days.

Then take the 20% above and below each the class and put them into separate queues.

Queue A, then would belong to the newest or most casual 60's , they could either continue to improve and move up or stay where they are.
Queue B would then belong to the class averages, no chasing fairy rainbows, thrones and every legendary artifact known to man, you can stay at the average level or
Queue C , the BiS crowed , the top percantage, multiple 9,10 ranked enchants, a few legendaries at least , all the boons and every potion known to man.

WITH The ABOVE set up EVERYONE wins, you are much closer to your own grouping then you ever were before. IS it perfect? No, of course not, BUT its much more perfect then it is now.

I once pvped hundreds of matches a week, had profound gear on 5 different classes, got a vanguard on all of them, had a blast between end of Mod 1 and middle of mod 3ish give or take. Start of Mod 4 I gave up, I cant chase the power creeping any longer. It just ridiculous now, you get into matches with poeple 5-6 k gear score above you, even if you have 15-18k on your classes, you get steamrolled in seconds.

If you separate the queues and put actual groups of people together, It would encourage growth, right now you just cant get into pvp , due to the extreme nature of the power creeping any longer. A new 60 is just a ant ready to be crushed over and over.

3 queues, 3 leaderboards. Casual , Expert and Pro. Everyone wins!

A new metric is needed absolutely, from which to make separate pvp ques and so forth. The problem is, there are just not enough people (playing pvp at least). You have this truly massive scale of power with relatively very few actual people on that scale. ELO is probably the single best thing the devs ever came out with to achieve parity in pvp matches. The problem is, the more it is "turned up" the longer the wait for ques. The more it is "turned down" (less parity) the shorter the wait.

Most problems in pvp can be attributed mainly to not enough players. To me, the solution for that is a big push to expand pvp content, more maps more types of pvp, tourneys...so on. This thing could be a pvp monster if they tried.

They said in that AMA they spend dev time where the metrics say the money is coming from. So PvP doesn't make them the money you think it does.
I wasted five million AD promoting the Foundry.

In the end, I think gaming is really evolving in two separate directions: a growing, expanding cutting edge large population pvp direction, and more of a single player pve direction. Neverwinter hesitates at those cross roads and in trying to please everyone is pleasing none. My humble opinion.

Mod 3 and the time just preceding its release was supposed to be the big pvp effort. We got open world pvp, elo, leaderboards....really a great effort. But totally misdirected. Instead of elo we should have guild ques and pugs, period. Instead of just leaderboards we should have got a pug leaderboard and a guild tourny system. Instead of IWD pvp we should have gotten two more domination maps and a new pvp game (not the limited open world pvp of iwd). Separate ques based on guild/pugs works with a smaller player base (where elo does not) because pugging is more casual and has enough incentive for pve players to try it while the guild player base is smaller but wayy more organized socially and capable of coordinating times to play. Hindsight is always 20/20 but what I just said there was said well before the release of mod 3.

Obviously their "data" shows that players LOVE doing dailies. Otherwise, why would they have spent the last 5 modules focusing on dailies?

PVP needs to go away and be a separate game imo.
Agreed pvp is complete BS. Hell I have top gear and get 2 shotted by certain classes. If it wasnt for Astral diamonds I wouldnt play pvp at all. completley worthless part of game. Its flavor of the month or aggravation. I play ranger get owned alot . That toon is the most well geared. I play my rouge and kick the HAMSTER out of people and its no fun. Useless playing a cleric at all. They could fix it but either to lazy, not enough coders or hope people get pissed and buy the flavor of the month. Simple solution is a better pairing system based on gear score. If they have rank 10 everything tough sheet you cannot play against a freash 60. And they can add hit caps. dumb as hell when a GS 20 can dam near one shot a 16gs. Guess it dont matter tho. most people leave after 1 year anyways. They get bored with a grind and nothing to fall back on like pvp

You want to know the real reason class balance is out of whack?
IT IS because certain players cannot adapt and find ways to win vs certain classes, so they cry.
Also we have tons of people that would rather be silent about bugs so they can abuse them.
The players make the game and the players break the game.
MANY people that complain here never even tested on preview shard....
Imagine that.....

Whoever tells me that balance is the players fault seriously needs to chill.

I also kinda dislike all these PVP (whining) threads, because a) they suck, b) are repetitive and c) severely interfere with constructive feedback. But in the end the devs first and foremost look at their data, hold meetings, test stuff on their internal server and, yes, might consider player feedback. I would highly doubt they notice much more than what's transferred by the class advocates, posted in the official preview feedback threads and brought to attention by the community staff though.

It's hyperbole, the devs don't change a gazillion things that are being cried about, but when they do, of course it's because other classes lobbied for a nerf. Nah. In the end it's the devs decision and they have to be held accountable. Not a random whiner that's posting here.

On topic: I generally think the game has to settle a bit, in all areas. They are putting out new content in lightspeed, also due to contractually dependencies, and forget to balance/overhaul/tweak old stuff.
