at 45 minutes past the hour, on every instance, 5 chromatic dragon heralds get murdered in under 5 minutes... the longest part of the process is the horse race to get to each of them.
With 20 players now that we are seeing gear levels of 15k+ as a common occurrence none of the dragons are remotely challenging. This is downright insulting to D&D, and frankly no fun whatsover.
Also it's next to impossible to get a great success on the dragons, they simply don't have enough HPs.
Each of the dragons in the game needs to have their hitpoints increased by a factor of at least 10 and their dps trebled.
They made the same mistake with the well of dragons that they made with the whispering caverns and rothe valley , too many players and not enough HP , they need to lock down the instance so that once 15 - 20 players are in it no more can enter , even if invited and add a bit of HP to the dragons , some instances today had 30 - 35 players in them.
To be fair, they are being murdered by the best and most able people in the realms.
Its not like its a rabble of level 1 adventurers here. We players are supposed to be people ready, willing, and geared enough that confronting the very dragon god herself isn't seen as an impossible task. The 5 heralds are simply just a warm up exercise. If they cant be beaten soundly, then obviously, the team willing to confront the dragon queen herself isn't ready for it.
And plaguefire seems to stack more than 3 times :O

I find it odd that five Black Ice wraiths are more likely to kill me than
anything short of a dragon in the Well of Dragons. (And that's with full ice armor.)
I would guess Tiamat will be very difficult, and honestly it should be the hardest
boss ever, but the rest of it needs to be more difficult. I should not be easily soloing
with a 16k CW.
I recall the Dragon Invasion Event dragons being much tougher... but perhaps its was
the level and number of players. I'd like to see it boosted to that level of difficulty
for groups of 16k+ers.
Not every module should be accessible to anyone 60th level.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

While the dragons are melting danged fast and the magical rainbow mount parade is kinda hilarious (I guess it's like GG PvP but I've never done that), IWD has steeper requirements for entry than the Well of Dragons, so they can't make it as tough. Any fresh 60 with 10k GS can waltz right in, as it doesn't require completion of any prior campaign tasks.

That does seem odd. Dragons, much less at the gateway to the goddess of them all - ruler of
an entire plane of Hell - maybe should cast spells or something.

Would be fun if a group of like 50 elite mobs would swarm up once the dragon is engaged, then nobody would be ninjia beating the dragon and there would be more excitment beating the dragon
Maybe they should make the dragons adjust to the number of players in their vicinity? The more players the more HP, damage, etc. Make the dragon's stats increase for every player that joins the fight, but don't let them decrease if players leave.
Currently it is ridicilous how fast they are defeated. Sometimes I can hardly get off a second encounter rotation. That is not fun.
Maybe solution is to force team formation. Or like ktembo said, make them scale.
Personally, I like the idea of 'you formed a team, go ahead and fight!' vs standing around waiting for something to happen and 30000 dudes spawning in to farm.
Put a portal in the camp. And people wanting to do it can stand there and try to make teams. Easy.
Regarding great success - I've never gotten anything valuable when I score it, but all three belts dropped were without great success.
I have received stupid useless numbers of blue dragon bone junk. (Main hand has weapon ench slot.)
And tons of dragon cult clothes. Only got them from Great Successes. But I never got anything exciting from same.
I have yet to get a belt or anything else that anyone is after.
(I know this thread is about dragon heralds. But there is no reason to think that the RNG/Reward system will be any different. There is very little new in this mod.. it is just re-skinned stuff, done for no other purpose than to meet a contractual obligation. At least they TRIED to fix a couple of hurting classes. TR is better and so is DC. Unfortunately, the things that are better will be nerfed to uselessness, as soon as everyone has respecced into the new setup. And as has already been shown, people just trying to make reasonable decisions will be called exploiters by dorks who couldn't think their way out of a wet paper bag...)
I agree that dragons should be much harder to kill but I think it will calm down a bit once the initial excitement fades so there will be fewer players in each instance.
And I have to say I love the crazy race to the dragons, especially as I stubbornly stick with my rank 1 pig mount. I usually manage to get there in time, but if I don't it doesn't really matter lol.
go try to kill vilithrax / venfitar now, early in the morning you can go and solo dragon, no people in the instance.
No interest in soloing them. Just want to play as intended (as opposed to having 12 or 15 extra players. ) Besides.. I have to wake up and go to work in 35 minutes. LOL
Gratz on soloing the five coloured dragon bosses with your 16k CW. I certainly can't with my Melee fighter.
My CW can stand against those dragons solo - hit, run, hit, dodge, but no way can he get in enough damage to kill a dragon in any sensible timeframe. And if he stupidly aggro's a mob round the fringes he just has to run or die.

That is a really good idea. +1

This because frankly the mobs spawning to those other HEs seem to be insanely thick skinned for what is to be a 3-5 (medium) HE.
