Already is A LOT of encounters better than Sunburst, and that is true. Try to go with full melee team, and use it without divine (mistakes happens, even to best players), wish you luck, it might be amazing dungeon for rest of your team ;>
One more thing, just curious, did you tried Divine Searing Light now? It was skill, about what I ever forgot it exist. New mod, few tests - totally amazing. Withouth annoying knockback. And, for me - more useful, with better heals and also good dmg (what is less important).
Sunburst is still ok for me. It spreads Foresight (which I've feated with "Benefit of Foresight"), spreads High Prophet debuff and spreads weapon enchant debuff (obviously, in divine mode for routine fighting). On top of being an emergency button to save someone or knocking a mob off the map.
On the original topic of the new DC being bad for partys...no. It's awesome. I'm no longer just chaining AS and FF back to back like clockwork for nonstop group heals. It's much more engaging now. And we can actually kill stuff now! On top of tossing out buffs and debuffs like candy.
It would be helpful if you list the encounters you use in dungeons, and how you use them: e.g., nAS/dDG/dBoH/dBoH/eDG -- or whatever. I know it's situational, but I'm sure I'm not the only one still kind of confused about how/when to use normal vs. divine vs. empowered.
As a Righteous DO
Encounters: Divine Glow, Astral Shield, Healing Word
Spam normal and divine Divine Glow for buffs/debuffs and place down an empowered Astral Shield. That's pretty much it. I use Healing Word as a 'blanket heal' and occasionally use divine Astral Shield/Healing Word for a temp HP boost.
At-Wills: Astral Seal, Brand of the Sun (Dungeons) *You can use whatever for solo/dailies*
Combined with Divine Fortune, 3-4 Seals/Brands gains me full pips and allows me to focus on using encounters.
While you will be mostly focusing on using divine mode, don't forget to use the normal version of a skill before starting a rotation, let them go on CD while you spam their divine counter-part. Feel free to do a single divine version of each skill or spam a single one, they are really your bread and butter now.
I find very few skills are worth using empowered stacks on if you run with Astral Shield. Its damage reduction is invaluable, especially if you stack HP.
**Use 2 normal skills, spam 3 divine, use last skill as empowered, spam at-wills, repeat**
