Why does the info in my clipboard keep getting changed while playing NW?

I don't have Ctrl + C as a short cut in any of the NW UI commands and I know I'm not selecting anything while in the game and pressing Ctrl + C. It's rather difficult for the data stored in the computers clipboard to change but it keeps happening and only while playing NW.

don't select anything with a right-click in the chat window and the problem will be history.

Happens to me a lot when I am swapping character to mail and organize stuff. I'll copy my @handle and then when I get to the next character and go to paste, many times a single (seemingly random) letter will be pasted instead. Even letters that aren't in my @handle.

This is part of the behavior of the chat log. Anything you highlight in your chat log is automatically copied to your clipboard. This is true of all Cryptic Games.

Ah, wow. I never knew that! Thanks. I'll be more careful where I put my cursor in the future and see if it still happens. However, I don't recall ever touching chat when I am character hopping like that.

However, that is great to know for
when I do need to copy something in chat. As I always select and hold down the right mouse button then CTRL+C before releasing the mouse button, for when you release the mouse button when selecting text, it deselects the text. So I just assumed I needed to keep it highlighted until I copy it.

I was so frustrated when I first started playing! Haha. Anything I highlighted was gone before I could hit ctrl+c! It just seemed so weird that they haven't fixed such a blatant bug... then one day I accidentally discovered the truth and I was face-palming for days after... :D

If I may suggest, I think it would be best to let the users know of this handy behaviour... I myself grew frustrated of pressing Ctrl+C before letting go the left mouse button and tought it was bug :)
Maybe it's written somewhere but users really miss this info :)
(along with other UI helpful things like unstacking items in the inventory, mail navigation through directional arrows... acknowledging popups with enter [it would be of help to enable that in professions, btw] )

Copying that automatically is good and all but I'm not doing any of that. I'm not doing things with chat, or mailing anything and it still changes the contents in my clipboard....
