One must be DPS and other Heal but I really cant work out which is which. I dont pvp much but most of my gameplay I solo but when I do join group I like to feel useful. I solo most of the time so any help with setup which path is better suited would be appreciated.
Anointed Champion is designed specifically for Party (Group) play in PVE, and possibly some PvP benefit - that Paragon focusses on buffing party members and whatnot. It is the "add-on" Paragon (DO was the original). And the Paragon-specific stuff focuses on supporting allies, rather than your self.

DO has a slight edge in solo DPS content but is a perfectly competent healer/buffer when called on to do so in a party. They don't have access to all the buffs the AC does and get more damaging abilities instead, but they do get all the most important buff spells.
I have not played any Module 5 content yet, but most of this still holds true:
I'd say DO for DPS, AC for Healer.
A DO makes a very good Solo Play and Party Play/PvP debuffer/buffer/damage dealer (not as high DPS and the other classes), and my Dwarven DO Battle Berserker War Priest of Clanggeddin is MUCH closer to his Triple Kill target and already has all the other 9 Achievements.
The DO can also take feats to boost Healing and Buffs and do perfectly well as a Healer build and still have the Paragon powers for DoT, dps etc.
But the AC just does not make such a good debuffer/damage dealer as the DO. But DOES make a better Party Play and PvP Healer/Buffer due to the Paragon powers and feats.
The AC Healer build also relies heavily on having a party that knows what they are doing. My 15k AC Radiant Healer is almost defenseless against ANY other equally geared class with an equally skilled player and also against 9k CWs. If there is no GF/GWF/HR plus an SW/CW standing with her to deal the dps in PvP while she heals and buffs, she just cannot do her job, which is to help the others do THEIR job better. For solo play, I just swap Astral Shield for Daunting Light.
My Tiefling AC Radiant healer of Amaunator has 12/75 Double Kills and 2/40 Triple kills. And I have done FAR more PvP with her than my Dwarven DO. She bought Grim Faithful and then Profound Faithful and several Artifacts. She is my FIRST character.
My Dwarven DO Battler Berserker has done far LESS PvP, did not buy any Grim gear at all and went straight to Profound as he was doing fine with Grand Templar gear and needs only a handful of Kills to complete the 10th Achievement. He is my TWELVTH character.
So he has outpaced the AC in PvP by about 2:1, because he CAN defend himself 1 on 1. He does not heal as well, but if your party deserts you because they think dying on the Enemy base is a better strategy than Holding Mid Base and winning the match, you cannot out-heal incoming damage anyway, whatever build you have. So debuffing the enemy while buffing himself and dealing more damage means that he CAN kill other classes.
But against a good team, you will get targeted by at least 4 of the enemy to the exclusion of all else until you are dead, as a good healer seems to be regarded as an essential first kill.
With Module 5, this polarisation may be more extreme at the upper echelon of the specialisations while closing the gap in between at the same time. Instead of being tied to specific, named Powers, Feats now increase damage of DoTs, or increase healing of HoTs, or change the power of buffs and debuffs and so have more general application. But I have to find out what does what before I go back into the Arena, and that will take some time.
Astral Shield adding Temp hp instead of Regeneration is a crock, though. The first build I tried with my AC was to maximise all Temp hp from all sources, with Powers, Passives and Feats, and after being level 60 for a few weeks I respeced several times as it was just not working as well as I'd hoped.
Forcing essential Powers to add Temp hp instead of direct healing or regeneration is one of those "what WERE they thinking?" moments for me...
By the way, for an AC Healer, you will want to stack Power, Recovery, Defence and Critical Strike.
My Tiefling (Profound Faithful gear, mostly Faithful tree) also has STR 17, CON 14, DEX 14, INT 20, WIS 20, CHA 22.
For a DO Battle Cleric, you'll want to stack Power, Critical Strike, Defence and Armour Penetration.
My Dwarf (Profound Righteous gear, Virtuous/Righteous feats) also has STR 21, CON 17, DEX 14, INT 15, WIS 24, CHA 16.
My second character, I tried to make an AC Battle Cleric Dwarf, but it did not seem to work out well. He's only got Grim Righteous gear and stats of STR 20, CON 13, DEX 13, INT 13, WIS 27, CHA 16.
All stats include the Camp Fire +1 bonus.

Thank you very much appreciate comments as I now have a better understanding.
the difference is small
exaltation and prophecy of doom are both unusable
I find myself using the anointed army daily bit more after they nerf the rest. but I guess DO use the hammer more as well
the class feature are not useful any more
anointed holy symbol doesn't stack with other temp HP, and DO class features are not that great
the main difference is the at will
BOB have great divinity gain, buff and very nice feat in T2
BOS do decent damage and i guess have nice divinity as well
