i have a suggestion about this, instead of making a new artifact belt
why not make the previously belt to be upgradable till rank 100.
example after you reach rank 60 you will choose what kind of belt do you like
till you reach rank 100. this will help you to do AD sink also this way
those poor players who already have a belt dont suffer much specially to those
with legendary belt. think about it carefully some players here just have a belt and now your
trying to add another belt which is better than the old artifact belt.
me i just bought my belt 2 weeks ago and try to upgrade it to epic (purple)
then i heard that some changes in mod 5 is already in preview so i try to chek.
and when i saw the new artifact belt i was like omg?
this isnt right right?
why is it a problem if new artifact belts come out? I understand You may be suffering from buyers remorse, but the fact remains, as they add more variety, more people are going to have access and more people will enjoy the added content.
Lol sorry to say I doubt they will alter their plans , if anything the new set has just become even more essential if you want to be Mr BiS because the System designer has just told us he plans to give the new artifact belts even better stat allocation than they had before XD
The base ability scores given by the new artifact belts could use some changes to better cover the classes.
Would something like this address y'alls concerns?
Lathander - CON, DEX unchanged
Seldarine - CHA, DEX (WIS switched out for DEX)
Black Ice - INT, CHA (WIS switched out for CHA)
Imperial - STR, WIS (DEX switched out for WIS)
This gives each class a belt that hits 2 of their three primary/secondary stats.
this wont be a problem if they would allow us to use the current artifact belt to refine the new belt = to the same amount of the old belt refine points
my conscern is when they release artifact mainhand and belt, i notice until now only a few player manage to make it both legendary. now they goind to release 4 parts mainhand, offhand, necklace and belt. how much time will they give us to make those 4 parts legendary? sry about making this thread i dont know when but this is to fast they should make it slowly
if they change this or not, im happy i say what i want to say
This just shows that the refinement system is a problem and that those saying, oh you should use stacks of rp you should take many months or years to upgrade it are wrong because by the time you get it legendary that way, it will be outclassed by something else meaning you have to do it all over again.
Well I know one thing , I was getting really pissed off never getting a artifact belt drop during module four but now I must say I am kind of glad I didn't , if I had put all the effort and AD into leveling one just to see the Black ice set released just a couple of months later I would have flipped lmfao.
Taking in consideration the way of resources it takes to reach a level 60 legendary i cant even imagine the amount of life time (better than resources) it will take to reach level 100...
Its a good idea but to do it they should remake the refine system of this artifacts to something more easy to achieve if you are not one of the whales. As it is now is too much.
i bought my artifact belt(str) 2.9mil ago. and i upgrade it to epic(purple) and i use 1mil above. and now i saw new belt with good effects and parts combo. now i dont know what to do i put all my AD in my belt im ruined

Or, that if you HAD taken it slow, you wouldn't have dropped all of that RP into the current belt and you would have some AD / RP left over for this new belt that is coming out.

I'd be surprised if anyone or at least most 'taking it slow' had RP left over.

Take slow what?!?
You need the Artifact belt and weapon legendary to unlock the slots on them if you PvP.
There is no "taking it slow" and "dropping what you have" (which is NOTHING, you need the AH).
Or, that if you HAD taken it slow, you wouldn't have dropped all of that RP into the current belt and you would have some AD / RP left over for this new belt that is coming out.
And what if you were one of the ones that paid 8m AD for the earlier expensive belts because demand was high? Either way if you were refining rp for months manually you would've wasted your time.
And what if you were one of the ones that paid 8m AD for the earlier expensive belts because demand was high?
Then you're a sucker. If you have 8 million AD to spend on one single piece of gear, then spending millions on refining clearly isn't much of an issue either.

So your logic is that it's ok to screw people over as long as they can afford it (which is a big generalisation btw).

This is called "milking".
They showed the artifact equipments and you showed that you can afford it, doesn't matter how much it costs, just to have it before anyone else. Now they're milking you, and you can't do much but to accept it or leave.
You can try to change their minds by suggesting stuff, but IMO it's useless, just like most suggestions in F2P games.

To be fair to either, grinding and progression is a big part of mmos, albeit it's becoming rather forced in this game, and those having been around long enough can already see this trend and expected the screw over a mile away.
Well I'm sorry. No single piece of gear in this game is worth 8 million AD, I don't care how "artifact-y" it is.
Even CN weapons back in the day sold for no more than 2-3 million tops.
If you paid 8 million for an artifact belt right when they first came out, then what you really bought was a status symbol of being among the first to have an OP piece of gear. And you are a sucker for vastly overpaying for that piece of equipment. Cryptic didn't screw you over, you screwed yourself over.
Depends on how you look at it. If you look at it from a publisher's PoV, there's something to sell in a new box, new reasons for players to grind forever and maybe buy it after all etc. It's all about making money to them.
From a (paying) player's PoV it's a pure ripp-off. They've spent god-knows-what amount of time or money on getting it legendary, only for it to become obsolete a month later. They'd think all this new gear is following up on each other way too fast and this could upset them. This could even result in players not buying these boxes anymore out of fear of it happening again. But there will always be players who want BiS and want it instantly, so money will come in regardless. Players who didn't buy the belt directly "just" wasted a crapload of refining points, but I could well imagine they'd feel pretty much the same as the people who bought the belt.
Your suggestion would please a lot of players, but it would also decrease sales. Therefor I don't see it happen.
I do agree with ya on that XD
Show the dev's that money tho.

dude everyone is very excited about the necklace and offhand artifact.
about the belt, the excitement turns into disappointment.
lots of player here just starting to get/buy the belt. some just bought it days ago or week because we only know that this coming mod 5 they will release offhand and necklace. and not belt. nor mainhand
this is so lame
Its like Microsoft, you never get the first revision. I'm in no rush, by the time I finally get around to getting a belt. I expect them to be common enough that you can buy them for a little bit of slightly used navel lint. Of course, by that time there will most likely be better belts. But like first generation electronics and software, i'm content to let those with deep pockets explore those murky waters first.

Usually there is yes, though in this game its not so enticing. For example most DCs are using t1, I'm still using my t2 hv set. I'm less against new gear as some of the rest since I want something to work on even if we outgear content already. However to add bonuses to belts which already exist as artifacts that require a significant investment not long after the first ones were introduced is a little too much of a middle finger to the players. Thankfully I was a cheapskate and got a 1m wisdom belt and only levelled it to epic. I could've afforded better, but I felt it cost way too much.

Well that's what happens when they're both very desirable and in such short supply. You do realise that CN weapons drop every single run and you at the best estimate get a belt once in a hundred runs. Consider that the average now is ~200k for an ancient piece or so. In 100 CN runs that's 20M AD. Divide that by 5 and you have 4M that you personally would average at on a greed/split run. Personally I don't bother with CN anymore since it's too cheap, but in that case you're guarenteed to get a belt in probably less runs than otherwise even though CN is old and hence devalued whereas the belts are new and in demand.
Not only that but you realise that artifact items are much better than any other gear right? It doesn't really compare. The belts are still about 4m AD for the more highly sought after which is still a high amount to invest for something pretty much outclassed in 1 modules time. There's not really been any real hurt in any other module for replacing gear, but for those that did, I kind of feel bad for them. You however are fine with people bled dry.
tl;dr: Yes they are worth that much, the drop rate allows them to be. If you don't have one, you're only left behind.
Well I didn't get an artifact belt, and now I don't plan to until mod 5. So I guess I've been "left behind", but it hasn't affected my gameplay or my enjoyment of the game.
I am not one to rush immediately to get the newest shinies. If you do, you wind up overpaying. Which is what happened to you, it appears.

This right here. You win the internet. We know with every modular release there is going to be something new, something flashy. The old stuff will hit the AH super cheap, that is when You buy and enjoy!
At least you guys didn't try 4 times to get an artifact weapon and get it to epic while you don't plan on using for mod 5. stealth depletion using at wills ftw

Again, you probably don't know how things go around in this game.
At this point, if you wanna have a decent chance to win against good premades (not guaranteed.), you need 5 legendaries.
People had to buy and refine these artifacts sooner than later, or not play PvP an entire Module besides pug level.
what you really bought was a status symbol of being among the first to have an OP piece of gear.
No it's not a symbol.
It is part of our builds. It is only and only EFFICIENCY. Not bragging up, and not staying AFK in PE to show your armored pony.
This is a matter of NECESSITY. I don't care if I get 1st, 2nd or 100th some 1000110001 code on some remote server. I do it not because I like it, I did it because I want to win and give my team as best chance as possible.
I would get most of the reasoning in this thread if they simply continued to hand out new artifact gear other than weapons and belts again. This is redundant and feels not well thought through.
I nearly bough an artifact belt from AH but then when i come to think of it, what if when after i buy the belt and i went eLoL and it drop a BoP one. That would be a waste of lots of AD..so i decided to take things slow and farm from it. Yea so far i got no luck on it but i got no prob with that. Sometimes u have to go with the flow to enjoy the game. It will be pointless to play ( and full of remorse ) if u takes things too fast. I mean what u gonna do after u get all ur stuff? at most u will enjoy ur full item for a week or two then u will get bored as ....
after doing countless dungeons we relax ourself chatting with friends etc..
aside from chatting we do pvp to test our skills. buying and upgrading belts doesnt mean
we want to reach end game gear. fighting someone with belt is in advatage. then after
investing millions of ad they plan to make another types of belt which is better than the previous belt.
as i notice those who said its fine, its ok, go with the flow, are the one who dont have belt atm.
i dont think you can still say that if you already bhave your belt and spend millions of AD
for artifact weapon i dont care if they make new or not because its cheap in campaign
this thread is for artifact belt that ruins many players. not everyone is as rich as you are
