What do the different Mark types do?

There are 3 different marks in the game: Power, Stability and Union. (I know that marks are used in upgrading enchantments / runestones and artifacts.)

Could someone please explain what the differences are between these 3 types are?

    They match the three kinds of artifacts.

    Also, all three kinds are used together for the upgrade stages of artifact gear.

    You can view all these with the ctrl+J collection interface.

    Thank you. Aside from the free artifact we get, I haven't found any others so that didn't occur to me :)
