Double XP weekend interest seems quite limited for a game where you keep out-leveling content.
Quite the contrary - most of the content added happens at level 60, and with the continuing advancement system added, it means those rewards will come even faster. It'll also help in leveling those extra companions or alts you may want to bring up.

That's why I said limited : interesting for alts you don't want to get through the usual content, some companions ... And not much else.
Anyway I never been very interested in bonus xp periods for mmorpg : the content is usually tailored to a certain xp progression, and these promotions are setting this off. But in Neverwinter, the content is already off compared to xp progression, so ... Whatever.

Do we know if the double exp also applies to profession experience?
Not the "yellow" profession XP. Regular "purple" XP from leadership will count double, but probably only if collected in-game as Gateway professions don't typically event bonuses like this.... I don't completely remember from the last time they ran double XP; double AD was specifically excluded from Gateway.
well, i've (foolishly) started a new character to pvp with...have some fun, muck around with. But I'm leveling up every 1-2 matches...i'll be lvl 30 before i've earned my first trip kill at this rate.
Double XP weekend?
It was a generous thought...but please devs, don't do it again.
Had I not have one of each I would've appreciated the event since after the first time it's not really interesting until after level 60. Managed to get 9 more leadership armies though. Going to do another 1, though going to be too cheap to actually use assets minus for unlocking slots so it'll probably take longer that the 5 weeks that it took to get my sw to l20 leadership :c. Not sure it's going to be worth the effort though so not 100% sure I'll follow through.

That said ... some of the foundry quests pop almost 2 levels at a time. Crazy.
