Well if they want a AD sink, giving it stats as a bonus is a bad idea.
Suggestion: Give it something useful.
It's still somewhat worth it in some cases. 190 power for 700k or spend more than that from going from rank 9 to rank 10 radiant for 40 extra power. But yeah it is kind of boring. I wonder if they have used up all of their imagination...
As for monks coming, I think you're looking too much into it.

Any other companion with a none-stats bonus is worth more than 170power?

Depends some of them are situational, like some may not have much use for the defensive ones, care for threat changes, control bonus or resist or afford some of the better ones. Plus some people are stat *****s...

If they're going to introduce stat companions, power is the one people want, and the one they're going to upgrade too.
How many builds advocate an epic sellsword? (Quite a few.)
This is maybe the case as they will show up in the game on NPC and monsters first as with most of cryptic's stuff you just have to watch it. just look at the archer and warlock were NPC monsters first, the druid and paladin have been tested as well with the ghost paladin and other NPC's and the the whole fae area reeks of druid.
Since he clearly has animations for punching things, it would be fantastic if this is the start of hand-to-hand combat to introduce the monk class!
Using your title's logic I would expect the Druid would be next thanks to the Moonshae Druid companion which was released during a May 2014 skirmish event.

Well right now power adds roughly 1% base damage for every 166 addition points. So the dragonborn is roughly the same 1% additional base damage. Its just a matter of finding companions that do this and there are plenty that can add the equivalent of that 1% or more.
The Erynies of the SW pack add 5% crit severity, and the Dancing blade from the WB adds 3%. Either of these would do it. The laughing Skull adds 500 Power and 500 Recovery on the start of battle for 25secs... this probably does it too because many battles are over by the end of that time. Hunting Hawks can add up to 7% damage, Fire Archons up to 5% damage, and Galeb Duhrs up to 10% damage depending on your situation.
There are plenty of companions that do not add a simple stat bonus, in general, I find these much better than the pets that *only* add stats.

Where, I want to see it. I saw the official ToD trailer, it had only dragons and pug parties, no Celeste.
Where is this movie?
Thank you,
Almondum.
Yeah, that's as much of a monk as I am a pretty pink fairy of happiness.

How do you get that from a video with only 3 heroes in it?
