Favor of Sune woes

Ok, this really needs explained to me. Now the summer festival lasts 14 days. So you have a chance to get 14 favors of Sune from the daily quest thing.

You need 15 favors to buy a pig.

What, how, what?

The last day according to the thing is tomorrow. So I'm going to come up 1 short no matter what I do. Since Trade bars are not tradeable, nor are the favors tradeable, I cannot gather them up to get a pig. Also, the favors are set to expire in 32 days. That's what it says according to my inventory space.

So why in the hell have this thing if there is no way to get the 1 thing I was working for?

There's another week or so for the Summer Festival's Height.

The summer festival height is on Thursday if I'm remembering right. So, you have 7 more day to get favors.

Hmm, the timer says otherwise. Fair enough. Is it just the 1 quest thing that stops tomorrow then?

They're effectively two separate events. So the current one will end and the other should begin. They overlap in the calendar.

You need only read the blog post about the Summer Festival to see how long it runs:

Event Begins: Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM (PDT)

Event Ends: Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM (PDT)

Aye, bioshrike explained it perfectly. Basically, look at your calendar and take note when the "Summer Festival" ends and when the "Summer Festival's Height" begins and ends. You have plenty of time and then some, to get a 15 token mount.

This is the single biggest point of confusion over these events (same goes for the Winter event).
I totally understand how/why this is actually 2 events, but it seems like plenty of people don't.

It would be really nice if the devs could find some way to, say, have the timer show the combined length instead of each one, it would really ease some confusion.

Now see, this is why I was ignoring the summer event. I noticed there was no way I could get 15 favors of sune without opening a bunch of lockboxes which I did not want to do right now. Since there was no way for me to do it (I thought) I spent all of them on flower petals and got me the DC mainhand transmute item. I really wish I had known this before the summer event started. Then I could have had that awesome horse I wanted. Oh well, I'll know next year.

It'd be nice if the news items/blogs that make it to the front page of the website were accessible in-game, so as to put an end to this type of confusion...

But you know, I actually will have 15 favors without buying any at the end of the two weeks. The first day for me was from 8 pm to 1pm next day when it resets and from there 14 more days.

*facepalm* I am such an idiot. I've been worrying about earning enough favors for a horse, even though I actually did read that post. Because when I got in-game and saw the event timer was 14 days, my mind went blank and I assumed I was just misremembering.

I even took part last year as well, but somehow I'd just completely forgotten about the Height of Midsummer event!

I got 15 coins this morning, I had 14 yesterday got up before work logged in visited the priestess and got my 15th. So yes you can get 15 coins if you did this daily. Although I did not realize I had another week myself ... so looks like I spent a bunch of time stressing for nothing. Although I am disappointed in that I have to wait another week for double RP weekend as I thought for some reason that was this weekend lol.

Well now... I just spent all my flowers because I'm a fool who didn't realize this. D'oh! Not only that, but I used up all my flowers for all my toons.

    See?
    Continually a problem.

Also, about once an hour, this whole topic comes up in the zone chat for the Festival.

Seems like people will obey the timer that's on their screen rather than actually check the calendar.
The timer should be updated to count both events together.

My wife was distraught that she only had 14 days to get 15 favors for the pig mount. She quit trying for it.

As a game player, and not a forum or blog reader, her only source of information is what the in-game timer said (14 days long). The calendar also doesn't mention that the summer festival quests are the same/overlap with the summer height quests.

When I tell her that she actually could have gotten the pig mount, she may just rage quit. GG Cryptic.
    Where'd my blinky-blinky path go?

Or just make it a habit to check the various blog posts or news section of the main page:

They really should use the popup-on-login mechanic to display these things in-game...

They could've said Event Ends --/--/--, and used the 3 week date. Then just announced
the bonus petals week in the blog. Confusion fixed.
