pig companion is now bind on pickup?

bought a pig just now planning on reselling it later, and it's character bound for no reason, contrary to what the store tooltip says.

    First of all, the filename "pigbop" made me snort coffee, and it's all your fault. Visions of a Muppets cover of Hanson, with pigs.

    Secondly, there seems to be a widespread problem with things being BoP when they shouldn't be, right now. You are not alone. I know this is scant consolation, as there's no indication if/when it will be fixed.. but it's not just you.

    The big question: Are they going to "fix" this by unbinding the pigs, or by fixing the info to say "BoP" ?

    (and I sold all the remaining pigs I had collected last year just before the summer festival started, as I expected the market to be flooded with pigs and the price would drop...instead it went way up.....*sigh*)
    Hoping for improvements...

    I bought a pig BEFORE the patch. It said "binds on equip" but it was "binds on pickup" (@attachments). Now I know the issue. Nevertheless I want Support to compensate players that also bought the pig companion before patch. We´re talking about investing a lot of time and money probably, into the game. This was a serious error made by the responsable team members.

    Also wrote a support ticket on the website aswell. Became this answer:

    Sent a bug report in game yesterday and also called for GM.
    Want this situation cleared even if I am aware of the fact that there are/were bigger problems in the game.

    Well, I just made a costly mistake! I double checked the vendor and saw that the pig companion was BOE...so, hoping it to be a good investment to make a little AD, I used almost 200 Trade-bars to acquire enough Favors of Sune to purchase the pig companion. When it arrived in my inventory, it was bound to me! It's false advertising and I want my trade bars back!!

    I was planning to get one pig companion and pass it around alts for collection, keeping it eventually on my lowbie, but now I won't even bother grinding for it. Making it BoP at 4200 petals cost is just absurd. Another chapter of "How we ruin the event people liked" by Cryptic.

    i'd like a refund or an unbind as well, considering those petals took me several days of annoying as hell grinding, but i doubt it will happen.

    gwah, now that you said it, i can't get the mental picture and song out of my mind... consider us even.

    Just adding my two cents. I got one pig companion earlier for myself which I intended to keep and use. Worked hard to buy a second one in order to sell it, after thinking I had confirmed that was possible by looking up the pig companion in the AH and seeing some there for sale by other players. But when I bought my second pig it wouldn't let me list it for sale. Now I understand that those listed must have been saved from last year, but it was VERY misleading. And now I have two pigs bound to the same character. Useless! And all those hours wasted! Add my vote to the call for unbinding these pigs.

    The bug report form is not for discussions. In any case, this has been a known issue and the bug that affected item's tool-tips in certain vendors has been corrected.
