I expect problems....

Module 4 will go live today. I am going to predict at least one "showstopper" issue, a few major ones, and a whole bunch of minor ones. In my opinion, Module 4 just isn't ready or well enough tested yet.

However, before everyone rushes to blame Cryptic, please have some patience. They are obliged to release this today - it's not like the earlier modules where they could push the release day back if they needed. The release date for Module 4 is imposed on them by WotC.

So - there will be issues - maybe the Dragonborn packs will not be delivered or have some major problems - maybe the SWs will be broken in some ways or some bug introduced when the CW/HR/GF/GFW changes were made that will make some class powers OP or unusable. Maybe the new HEs, dungeon or skirmish will have issues - I don't know yet...I am just absolutely certain there will be problems somewhere.

Now, I am going to predict an "emergency" patch within 4 days to fix the biggest issue - whatever that turns out to be, and a bunch of the other issues will get fixed over the next few weeks.

Have patience - but do not be surprised if there are more bugs now than when previous modules were released - there simply has not been enough time to test everything, and a bunch of things have been changed right up to the last minute.

It is really hard to release software by an externally imposed deadline when you have limited resources.

So, be patient, and don't scream too loudly on the forums when you find the inevitable bugs ;)
Hoping for improvements...

More like a player thats seen a few modules launched.

The amount of downtime due to "scheduled" maintenance has increased with each module due to things being rushed out the door. Lagwind dale was indeed cursed by a huge number of issues that should have been sorted before the game left testing such as the invisible mobs and diabolically bad lag and rubberbanding.

Hopefully with a solid deadline hanging over them they didn't remove too many folk from the module to join the team designated to killing off the economy. This whole dragon thing is reusing levelling zones so that should have saved some time as long as they didn't break stuff for the sake of it.

There are issues forever MMO-wise. Bugs are always expected.

The main issue here isn't that there will be bugs or exploits, but the fact that there might be a huge wipe and all time spent in the game will be for nothing. And that wasn't the first time happening, it existed prior to the "deadline". And it became a common practice in the gaming world recently to simply release an unfinished project and slowly tinkering with it by patches, DLCs et cetera, without much stress to begin with.

I'll share a little piece of wisdom I learned 15+ years ago when first playing MMO's..

    Patch Day
    First Rule of Patch Day
    Don't Play on Patch Day

    :)

HA! Unfortunately we're all worse than a room full of addicts who wouldn't obey a rule like that if our sobriety wholly depended on it!

It is true that they have some kind of contract obligation with WotC, and Mod4 is bound to be released today.

But knowing they had a fixed release date that can't be moved back, they should have scaled down the amount of content to be released accordingly. There is too much in this release, and most of it won't be working for sure on day 1 (several gamebreaking bugs are still present on Preview).

I agree first week is best for drops then they tend to scale them back.

I can't think of a single bug in the latest Preview release that could be described as 'gamebreaking'.

But we haven't seen all that is to be released today - the Dragonborn and the pack, for example. There is also the possibility of a last-minute fix having unexpected side-effects.

My whole point is really that people should be prepared for bugs ... probably more bugs than on the day of release of the other packs.....and people should just relax, and give them time to fix the issues.
    Hoping for improvements...

If I may, allow me to summarize:

This should be fantastic. If it's not anything other than mind-blowingly amazing, that's cool as a) it's patch day, b) they will fix it (once you report it clearly), and c) we should all be here to have fun anyway.

This is, of course, true. But I was responding to the poster who claimed there were "several gamebreaking bugs" on Preview. This is simply not the case.

Actually they have a pretty good record when it comes to the Module rollouts. Sure there were bugs, but their launch days usually have nothing gamebreaking.

Caturday, Stonerday and Resonatorday were outside of major launches.

Just because Neverwinter has had even worse exploits doesn't mean that launch day exploits are okay. Nightmareday (LuckyDay?) and BoEArtifactDay aren't exactly reassuring. Also the Devs were warned about LuckyNightmareDay many, many times before it went live. Even worse entire guilds who knew about the unfixed bug made 100 million AD or more each on NightmareDay and were actually congratulated for it....

    Subscription would rule!

If you want to be competitive in PVP mostly, but it applies to PVE too, with the new artifact armors especially, you need to open the pocket wide, sometimes wider than a paying game and monthly fee would get rid of the many bad behaving persons too, not all, but many.

Since the last exploit and it's "makers" and spammers are still running around in the game- listen to zone chat-, prices are so high for average players and players from not so wealthy countries, that a fix monthly fee would be better, than seeing the prices go higher every day and the market manipulators not punished.

And quite a bit was done there, just not everything. As others have said part of the reason Mod4 is coming out today, fully clothed or not, is from a WotC mandated marketting push for the whole "Tyranny of Dragons" line. There will almost certainly be issues carried over from the Preview server, maybe even some new ones, but once things get running smoothly it looks like it'll be a lot of fun.
