So this is my third day out here and I still have not been able to open the end chest, Yes I know you need a key , When I talk to the little leprican, he will only sell me a key. but he says don't worry first one is free, and if you complete the something or something about a key quest you get a free one daily, I believe this is broke because I have yet to run a key quest to unlock this.. so what is the point of running out here if I can get any gear ? And yes i could but a key but to do so daily I would be broke fast, between buying pots every day I never have more than a coulple of gold
In order to get a free key you need to complete all 3 quests in that area and accept the quest for the dungeon - Gnarlroot Caves, Witch Fen or Celendane.
You need to run the three daily quests in any of the three sharandar zones ( all three in one zone) then when you hand in all three quests to complete them a new key quest will unlock , take that then go to the little key guy and he will give you a key that can open a chest in any of the sharandar lairs , the guy explains this if you read what he says.

hmm so today willbe the third day out here and ofcourse I run every thing that is asked of me, I just finsished nail tooth for the second time in two day neither time have I gottena daily key.. and do these quest repeat every couple days?

It is working fine, it is as the folks above me said. I have used it every day for the last week, today included, with no problem. Also note.. it's one free key per day across all three areas.. so if you get the one in the swamps, you won't get the one in the first area.
Oh yeah.. for that area, to get the key, you must be holding the quest 'The Root of the Problem." (It almost sounds as if you are doing the quest THEN trying to get the key??)

This is the usual set up - get the fey crystal quest from the lady in the main area; go to 1st area and do the 3 quests from the people there. When you turn in all 3, one of them will pop with another quest for the "dungeon" - Root of the Problem being the one in the 1st area. When you go to the entrance the leprechaun should now have an exclamation mark over his head indicating he has a quest for you. Talk to him and he'll give you the free key.

this is what I have done every time.. and all he does is want to sell me a key ... but he says never mind the first one is free.. I have never got a free key , he says if you complete the key quest you will get a free one daily? I must of missed something.. Im screwed

Doomking.. tomorrow, go there. Get one quest from each person (three total.) Finish them and turn them in. Then talk to Pelendethas Everstride and get quest 'Root of the problem.' Then squeeze the leprechaun's head til he gives you a key. THEN go into the cave.
I think you got out of sync... by not collecting the key the first time or something.
Then there will be an item in his dialog 'Have a Key!'

Do all your quest turns ins. Talk again to the head questgiver in the area and you will receive a lair quest. Then talk to the leprechaun. He should have the free key quest. Only then do you enter the lair. The leprechaun cannot give you a free key if you have already competed the lair quest.
You can obtain a free key every day without doing dailies if you have an active lair quest... not completed and ready to turn in, but actively incomplete. This is easy enough to do if you're not running the lairs, but also manageable once you've got access to more than one of them. Just only do Gnarlroot and never enter Witch Fen or whatever.

Do you know about channel legit? Its a place for people who like to run things without exploits and cheating. They also could give three figs mostly about gear score, they will give you advice and help run t1 DD's with you if you need some.
Gear score is most important to compete in pvp, then has limited value returns in some t2s or t 2.5s , but they will not put a stress on it, if your running a t2 at 12.5, they are not going to auto reject you. you will also find people in a similiar situation as yourself.
Also, I would be doing both Sharandar and Dread Ring at the same time and if your not doing that.

yep have done Dread ring every day also, and i recieved anice set of armour from one of the end chests that came in a bag of goodies, I wish they did the same thing in sharandar this key thing is just silly so many didffrent keys and currency? just boggles the mind
To get the key from the leprechaun you have to press "F" to talk, and then you either READ or press "2" to initiate the key dialogue.
If you only press "1" you get taken to the shop interface.
Maybe this helps!

As pointed out you need to run the 3 quests. I have also found you can get a key by joining a group which allows you to get the key without having to do the quests.
In addition it seems you can get multiple keys if you accept the quest in one area and just pick up the key in another every day, I had like 5 in my inventory once from getting the quest daily but not actually running the dungeon, then I proceeded to run Celedaine tower multiple times, still no dog companion though.

yeah this is what i have done i get 1 free key a day without haveing to do the 3 initial quests i have managed to save up 30 keys now over the course of a month i usually dont do the runs anyway so i suppose ill just keep saving and when mod 4 drops ill do the runs for the shards at the end.
If you have the quest for any of the three lairs in the zone then any of the three leprechauns will give you a key. Since all the leprechauns have the exact same quest, you only get one key a day from them, even if you clear all three zones.
Note that since you just have to be on the quest for one of the lairs, you don't actually have to do that lair, the only advantage of completing the proper lair is the xp reward for the quest turn in. So if you sit on the uncompleted quest you can grab a key every day, the keys stack, without having to complete any of the quests...not so useful anymore, but pre-Dread Ring it made some sense to farm the lairs in Sharandar.

It still does. Shards are shards. It's something to do when out of other things to do, with a predictable reward and possibility for bonus (savage items.)
