well i was finaly having enough marks to get the bluefire shield from the cta on my lvl 35 gf.
and i was like oooh now let me look pretty. but then i found out that if i would use it now on my leveling shield it would destroy my bluefire shield. is this realy intended by cryptic. to use transmog only for high level BiS geared players? i'm fine with paying AD/gold for it. but destorying a event item that is there only for transmog sound like a stupid to me.

Why would you want to use a transmute on a item you going to outlevel and replace within a couple of hours/levels?

As long as you keep the item you transmuted, you can transmute the appearance later to a new item. The catch is you will then have to pay a nominal fee of AD.

    Example:

Shield 1 (your current shield) + Bluefire Shield (free transmute) = Shield 2

You later get a better shield: Shield 3

    Shield 3 + Shield 2 (Costs AD now) = Shield 4

that's what i wanted to ask for a long time, actually almost every cta.
so, just to be absolutely sure: in your example Shield 4 should be read as Shield 2 (in other words outlook of transmute itself)? you just need to pay 50k AD and you get the wanted item?

Yeah after you have used the first free transmute it would cost 51k AD ( on level 60 items) to transmute again.

Yep. In that example, Shield 4 would have the appearance of Shield 2, which was transmuted into the Bluefame Shield. As long as you keep the item that has the appearance of the original transmuted item, you can keep transmuting new items to look like it. You'll just have to pay beyond that first free transmute (if it's a free transmute item that is).

Make sure you transmute Shield 3 with Shield 2(the look you want), and not the other way round. :D:D
