HRs are getting buffed in module 4 so I think it is safe to say that the devs have everything in control.
Don't worry.
To clarify: survibability getting nerfed, erm, killability getting buffed. So, come mod 4, we won't be facetanking 1 on 3+ anymore, but we will be killing you a lot quicker, with a little luck. So worry, but only a bit.
Don't know...got in a match yesterday. Have to say, the HR was from page 1 of the ranking and most likely BiS gear and full tank build+ rank 10 radiants...
Now, i usually take down with my GWF most players easily, and usually can hold my own even against BiS players from other classes and, even if they outgear me, at least take down their health quite a bit.
Well, we got against this HR 2v1-3v1 and we could at best take down his hp to 30%, yet he would consistently self heal more than a Module 1 sentinel. It didn't even work to do not hit him while he was during forest meditation. And he still got enough damage to take us down.
Don't know how things are in end game right now, may be full tank sentinels can last a lot and tank, but if these are BiS HRs, i think that right now it's just the same as it was with old sentinels in module 1. Which means, send another HR or a ultra tanky DC/ GWF/ Perma TR to stall him.
What crossed my mind while fighting him was "it's stronger than the old sentinels".
Page 1 of rankings is also full of HRs, so i think they are the strongest PvP class right now...
So you admit you have no issue with any class even if they have BIS unless its an HR, whereas in the GWF discussion you acted differently.
No. What you can read there is
1) I take down most players easily---> my attack power and experience are enough to take down enemies. I'm a destroyer, hybrid, strong attack. Which does not mean i can beat anyone or any class. It's a statement about my attack power. You also can read it as "i don't deal chip damage". Which does not mean i am also immortal or super-tanky. I usually can't tank 2+ enemies with comparable GS.
2) I can hold my own even against BiS players---> which does not mean i win. It means i can keep busy players that are considered well geared and experienced.
Now, only in your head it sounded like some kind of "admission". While it's just a statement to say that i'm not a newbie scrub with a 10k GS. I'm a 15k GWF with 1 year of PvP experience and even if i'm not the strongest, i know how to counter the other classes.
So it's unusual for me to take on a single enemy 3v1 and we all lose. The above HR could tank us all, keep healing AND kill us. Pretty much a very tanky BiS tank DC with the attack of a sentinel.
Now, please, could you try to actually understand what people write and stop making wrong assumptions? So we can avoid wasting time trying to explain you what is wrong in your trolling posts?

if u want to stalemate a HR, just make a tanky dc to follow that hr over the map.
Since hr's lack burst, they wont be able to take the dc down.
In pvp domination i seen a HR kill all 4 of the other players on my team on 1 node by himself and his hp didnt drop below 80% also my team all had 14-16k gs.
So many myths. I can kill similarly geared HRs (not all the time, which is fair) on my perma and GWF as well. Yes, they kill me on my CW, what's new about this.
So let me dispel the myths and the fear by giving some advice:
- HRs need to be burst down usually in one go. What this means is that you need some specific stuff to overcome their PvP set healing and meditation
- DC artifact helps immensely, because you can basically double daily them in a very short while, especially as a perma with lower DPS. To be honest though, only bad permas have low DPS, good ones know to flurry out of stealth. If you don't, learn it.
- HR has pretty much no CC immunity, besides fox shift (if anybody is close enough), Meditation (if it's up, every 40 seconds) and their shift. So, all it takes is a coordinated CW+GWF couple: Icy Rays, debuff, GWF combo-->HR almost dead or dead.
- as a GWF you need to understand that staying on Thorn Ward will shred you in time. Jump around it, wait for unstoppable, roar/takedown/IBS the HR and hope you will crit and they don't deflect. If you're geared, you can kill HRs quite easily and it's a matter of skill who wins.
- do NOT spam at wills while they are on 100% deflect mode Meditation. They will heal even more because of their set. Wow, now you know why they healed to full, because pugs spammed their stuff on them... Do not touch meditation unless you know you have something up that can kill the HR if they are low, even while deflected. I can only think of an Ice Knife during Eye of the Storm proc, if the HR is really low, or GWF IBS, but you need to get lucky and crit.
- as usual, do not waste 3 people on one HR. If he is really tanky and good, you need someone to stall him - a good DC or perma should do.
- if you have a good DPS couple with a bit of a brain, they should go clear the HR fast. I'd say CW/GWF is ideal at this job.
In the end, HR is still quite OP (but not as OP as these tears-topics made it to be), mostly because people do not understand the class:
now, i don't really know anything about that class, just started one cause let me join the pain train
Also some classes such as a CW or a GF are quite badly equipped to deal with HRs alone.
But these topics are made by people with bad specs, without BiS gear, when they meet top tier, full rank 10 HRs with the whole arsenal of elixirs on them.
Why are you expecting to kill such players on your rank 7s/PvE specs? Get to their level first, and learn about the other class, practice against them, and then come back.

Also, we don't even know what class he is and what his spec (PVE or PVP) is, so why go on about him expecting to kill people with his rank 7 PVE toon?

Thanks for feedback. Just a few notes:
- i was not hitting him during meditation. May be the TR fighting with me was. Still, he was self-healing quite fast even when out of meditation...
- i burst damage exactly with roar-takedown-IBS and usually try to time Destroyer Purpose damage buff with the brust rotation. Still, he was very very tanky, like you'd expect from a top-tier PvP toon.
Few CWs use ray of enfleebement. He for sure outgeared us (i'm on GBarkshield/ PlagueFire and rank 8/ 7's, Dread legion weapon set and rank 1 PvP set for the healing 4 set bonus), but still...Could probably do it with some debuffs, but it still felt tankier than same level GWFs and TRs...as i said, more like a very tanky tank DC. Barkshield also can help them absorb burst damage. Obviously, he was an halfling.
My strategy so far has been to burst damage and avoid hitting them during meditation. May be the gear difference was too much.

Fair enough.
This is however not the first topic about this subject. They are quite obviously created by people that have no idea about PvP, by their own admission. Is this your typical geared PvPer? Or some PvEer that goes in for the AD reward, sees some monster TR/GWF/HR and comes to the forums to ask cry about it?
A geared, knowledgeable PvPer would not bother creating such topics. They would present him in a bad light. A geared PvPer would rather research ways to deal with the challenge that an HR poses.
And we already know that the HR PvP set is getting nerfed in the next module, together with one of the things I hate most from HRs, Constricting Arrow.
You have to understand I agree HRs are a bit OP (but so are GWFs and TRs), what I dislike is the "I don't know anything about this class they're so OP though!" attitude.
Oh yeah, they will. Clerics got the heal nerfed, remember?
Still HR is the easiest enemy for my DC, even GFs cause more troubles. HRs have no burst, prones (they actually do, but it more a self-stun) or sustained high damage (8k Split Shot hits anyone?). DC is the best class to counter them on a node.
M6 almost drains your soul given how boring it is. (c) joocycuzzzzzz

For a little while, yes. But eventually you'll get beat down unless its a very undergeared HR.

For a GWF is really hard to take down the equally geared HR, since it relies on the LUCK of high crits, and u have to be very carefull when going to use encounters, since hr got CA and a lot of dodges, that can mess ur rotation...
And even if u do these crits, sometimes it's not enough...
I can beat most HR easy but only because they dont know there class well. The HR in pvp does require a lot of skill but once learned well they are very OP. I had a long fight with a HR with only 11k gs.....he got me to half hp, I was very surprised lol it took long and I cant believe that he only had 11k gs, if that was any other class with that gs I would have killed them in 2 seconds.

Yes, this is true. This is why I said I can kill HRs on GWF, while also mentioning not all the time. If you would kill the HR all the time, then your class would be hugely OP compared to it. If you can kill the HR but the HR can kill you as well, and it is a hard fight for both sides, I would say:

Yup they are really hard to kill, i once dueled against a gf with like 14kgs+ with a HR with 10,5k gs, and managed to kill the gf slowly, since the gf burst damage is very low, and even for a low gs HR it was able to regen up.

This is balanced.
Well, maybe a bit balanced for now, but HR still have the upper hand.
I play both these classes(hr,gwf) on pvp, and i think that in a 1 vs 1 situation HR vs GWF its like 70% chance of win for HR vs 30% chance of win for GWF....
But for the coming mod... well things going to change drastically i guess, since gwf nerfed to the ground.

These are just general suggestions.
A CW and a GWF will burn down any class. Double-daily on any character is devastating. By the way, these are based on module 3 HRs, not module 4.
And about double dailies, I think we can agree Cleric artifact is way too good.
Compared to all the others yes, its very OP. I see gwf using it a lot with there daily that can hit 20k or more and they get 2 hits off with this artifact so its deadly lol.
In pvp domination i seen a HR kill all 4 of the other players on my team on 1 node by himself and his hp didnt drop below 80% also my team all had 14-16k gs.
The same HR also cured cancer while sitting on a node. And it is rumored he lives in Area 51 and shot Kennedy with his bow.
Fact is: if 3 people with 16k gs couldnt bring down an HR, these people are just bad. Period.
Even against two very good players u dont have a chance as a equally geared and skilled HR.
But as long as people dont know anything about the class (19 out of 20 people I encounter still attack me while meditating btw) these whine threads will come up.
And the statements of gwfs are the funniest ones. Used to killing everything with buttonsmashing its hard for gwfs nowadays to realize: "oh man, I have to think and time my powers and actually have to avoid some ****"
Are HR the strongest class atm? Yes. Are they a little OP? Yes they are.
But most babycry-threads doesnt even mention the real issue why HR are so strong now. These threads just display how mindless people are playing pvp.

Well I'm not saying the team I was with was amazing players but that doesn't matter, they had good gs and that means some decent stats so 4 players all hitting 1 guy and only getting him down by 20% hp is very bad....no other class could have done this apart from a perma TR so the fact that a HR can and without stealth is a little OP.
I'm a gf and I know how to fight a HR. I dont attack when they use there meditation and I know how to defend against most skills and the right time to attack but that still will not allow me to win against a HR with skill and equal gs no matter what I do.
I enjoy the challenge though. Being a gf is hard in pvp but I always love fighting gwf and HR. They are both a stronger class by far but when I win, I know its down to just skill.

that wasn't the point of my thread
yes i said they seem crazy
yes i admit i don't know anything about the HR class as i just started playing again
my goal was to understand what can be done about it, as i posted at the end of my OP
anyway,
so they heal off your hits when they're in "meditation"? what does meditation look like? when they're crouched in a ball? it's weird cause i still saw him heal to full when we left him alone
and as far as dodges/cc immunities, it seems like they mitigate a lot or are immune to a lot, keyword seems

QQ here QQ there but do you guys even read the patchnotes for **** sake?
HRs are doing what they are doing for a overpowered bonus set that heals EVERY TIME THEY DEFLECT 700 hp IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT HEALING DEPRESSION and they have a feat to INCREASE THE HEALING of 20%.
FOREST MEDITATION gives 100% deflect. do your math.
now the nerf already on the preview shard:
-BONUS SET: now obeys healing depression and has 2 seconds internal cooldown with 50% chance to proc. PRETTY HARD EH?
-NO MORE 20% healing feat.
Compensations:
-WAY MORE damages if archery
OR
-STRONG HEALS for combat but SPLATTED IN 15 SECONDS. Damage reduced for combat player.

I did not complain about HR at all i just said they are overpowered compared to other classes atm, thats just feedback on the thread and its the truth, i could lie and say they arent but whats the point ?
And yes i have read the updates for mod 4 so what ? it wont change much as i have tested it and HR are still very strong.

what's "healing depression"? is that an in-game term or did you come up with it? haha
so right now they heal 700 hp anytime they deflect (without cooldown), with that bonus set? what's the set called?
after mod 4, they get a 2 second cooldown on the heal and only 50% chance for it to proc?

Thank you.
if u want to stalemate a HR, just make a tanky dc to follow that hr over the map.
Since hr's lack burst, they wont be able to take the dc down.

Oh yeah, they will. Clerics got the heal nerfed, remember?

Also some classes such as a CW or a GF are quite badly equipped to deal with HRs alone.
But these topics are made by people with bad specs, without BiS gear, when they meet top tier, full rank 10 HRs with the whole arsenal of elixirs on them.
Why are you expecting to kill such players on your rank 7s/PvE specs? Get to their level first, and learn about the other class, practice against them, and then come back.

The OP did not even do or say any of what you are implying. He simply noticed a class causing more trouble than a GWF, in his experience, and asked about it. No need to have a go.
Still HR is the easiest enemy for my DC, even GFs cause more troubles. HRs have no burst, prones (they actually do, but it more a self-stun) or sustained high damage (8k Split Shot hits anyone?). DC is the best class to counter them on a node.
For a little while, yes. But eventually you'll get beat down unless its a very undergeared HR.
Ancient Warriors Guild
No, not normally...
If the Dc know what he is doing, then he can stall on 1 vs 1 situations against the hr, even if the HR is pretty good.
For a GWF is really hard to take down the equally geared HR, since it relies on the LUCK of high crits, and u have to be very carefull when going to use encounters, since hr got CA and a lot of dodges, that can mess ur rotation...
And even if u do these crits, sometimes it's not enough...
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Yes, this is true. This is why I said I can kill HRs on GWF, while also mentioning not all the time. If you would kill the HR all the time, then your class would be hugely OP compared to it. If you can kill the HR but the HR can kill you as well, and it is a hard fight for both sides, I would say:
This is balanced.
Yup they are really hard to kill, i once dueled against a gf with like 14kgs+ with a HR with 10,5k gs, and managed to kill the gf slowly, since the gf burst damage is very low, and even for a low gs HR it was able to regen up.
Compared to all the others yes, its very OP. I see gwf using it a lot with there daily that can hit 20k or more and they get 2 hits off with this artifact so its deadly lol.

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
that wasn't the point of my thread
yes i said they seem crazy
yes i admit i don't know anything about the HR class as i just started playing again
my goal was to understand what can be done about it, as i posted at the end of my OP
anyway,
so they heal off your hits when they're in "meditation"? what does meditation look like? when they're crouched in a ball? it's weird cause i still saw him heal to full when we left him alone
and as far as dodges/cc immunities, it seems like they mitigate a lot or are immune to a lot, keyword seems
i'm a 14.5k GWF in pvp gear for reference
Damage reduced for combat player.
no copy pasterino
I did not complain about HR at all i just said they are overpowered compared to other classes atm, thats just feedback on the thread and its the truth, i could lie and say they arent but whats the point ?
And yes i have read the updates for mod 4 so what ? it wont change much as i have tested it and HR are still very strong.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
what's "healing depression"? is that an in-game term or did you come up with it? haha
so right now they heal 700 hp anytime they deflect (without cooldown), with that bonus set? what's the set called?
after mod 4, they get a 2 second cooldown on the heal and only 50% chance for it to proc?
do i have that right
