FIFA World Cup Discussion

Hey all, noticed that there wasn't a thread here about the World Cup that is going on right now, so just thought I'd make a thread for general discussion and such. What are some of y'alls favorite teams? Personally my favorites are USA ('Merica!) and Germany, I also harbor a disliking for the Netherlands for some reason (probably the last Championship game in 2010).

Anyways, discuss away!

P.S. For those of you who don't know, the USA knockout round is tomorrow (7/1/14) at 1:00 PM Eastern Standard against Belgium!

Seems a pretty balanced World Cup, no clear-cut favorites as all teams are struggling to get past "minnows" apparently.

I'd probably wager on Brazil to win it because of the "host factor", but beyond that, it can go any way.

I know what you mean, the Germany game yesterday was crazy! Both USA and Belgium are hobbled, although Belgium has had more time to rest.

Oh and the Menausse curse is real. So hot and humid there.

The US-Belgium game was pretty crazy - it looked like the US almost had it for a few minutes. Both teams did great.

Also, Tim Howard. That is all.

Yea, Tim Howard... I'm sorry we let you down :(

We had several opportunities late in regulation that were squandered, but still proud the fact that we survived the "group of death"

I was in awe when Germany literally humiliated Brazil.

Brazil looked like some street kids playing soccer against professionals... dear god.

I was glad to see Klose got a goal, as I have been waiting the past few matches.
