For whatever reason, was messing w/ command line stuff like "ipconfig /renew" this morning.

Then could no longer log into NWO or STO using the standalone launchers (I had to stop using the ARC launcher months ago, when it too stopped recognizing my password).

Heck, I had to make this post via IE, as on FireFox I can't even "sign in" to the forums! (yet when I click on My Account (? or something) it automatically takes me into my account page -- meaning it auto-logs me in for that -- yet won't let me on the forum to post this)

ps. yes, I restarted the modem, restarted my computer, tried all that stuff.

I have no problem logging into [removed].

Should not be related. Not much else I can say, but ipconfig /release and /renew should have in no way shape or form effected Neverwinter. The only effect would have been to not have you connect at all to the internet if for some reason you couldn't get a new lease, but you're here.

Sounds like you are having issues with one, or more, of the following:
    Virus or Firewall issue
    Spyware, Malware, or Browser Hijack
A router relay station between you and your destination is having issues.
    Your ISP is having issues.

The Account Site is separate from the Forum Site, which is why logins are not shared between the two. The forms have been having intermittent "Zero Size Object" connection errors for over a month now, which might coincidentally explain your intermittent forum issues.

With your password issues, I'd really be worried about the security of your connection and/or machine(s). That's not something that "just happens" with no reason.

Yesterday, I was able to connect. The only other thing I did was delete ALL my cookies and passwords and 'start fresh.' But as mentioned here, the website and launcher connect separately, so don't see how that helped.

Perhaps it was just the connection error that was hitting me. Just to be safe, am going through and updating and running scans on all my protection software.

Ok listen. ipconfig isn't voodo it does very specific things. You can find information here. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ipconfig.mspx?mfr=true.
The only thing it does that could mess up a connection is make the connection have no ip address by sending the release command to the dhcp server in your router. IF YOU HAD DONE THAT AND THAT WAS THE PROBLEM YOU WOULD HAVE NO INTERNET WITH ANY PROGRAM. But even so, the problem would be fixed if you rebooted. This means you have a virus, or a misconfigured firewall / protection program. The problem has nothing to do with your use of ipconfig.

You respond as though I was still mentioning the ipconfig stuff. I hadn't.
