I searched the forums but could not find anything to answer this question of what companions are best for a GWF.
I am interested in knowing what companions are best for my main class but would definitely like to hear best companions for any class. I think there was a thread on CW companions recently that was pretty good.
Currently I have:
I. Stone
Sylph
Dire Wolf
Helmite Paladin Ghost - CTA Drop
Swashbuckler - CTA Drop
I was thinking about getting maybe:
Skeletal Dog - 190 Life Steal
Dancing Blade - 3% Crit Severity
Wild Hunt Rider - 2% to increase damage
I appreciate any help you all on the forums can give. Also, please feel free to post any thoughts on any best for - class companions.

I use:
Upgraded Ioun Stone (purple)
Rust Monster (purple)
Blacksmith (blue)
Renegade Evoker (green)
Wererat Thief (blue)
If I had choices, I'd replace the Wererat Thief with a Lightfoot Companion (blue base, upgraded to purple) and replace the Renegade Evoker with the Snow Leopard (Green Base, upgraded to purple).
Stone of Might has been the better choice for GWF's to min/max. However the new chicken augment seems to be the preferred option when it is released during the Mysterious Egg event June 5th. If you want to stack other stats using Black Ice gear at T3.
As it stands, a GWF can outrun me even with the Profound run speed effect: Encounter Powers slow the target by 5% - stacks 3 times, all the movement boons + the first pvp movement boon, rank 7 darks, and the 10% slow from Purple Ioun Stone.

Are you just looking for active bonuses? If so, Brobora's got a good list.
Didn't they change the active on the Dancing Blade?
Sylph (Sometimes I swap Sylph for renegade evoker but I find less prone time more useful)
Galeb Dur
Wild Hunt Rider (Didn't proc that often at green, but at purple seems more often)
Floaty Crit Blade
Might Stone (could change to chicken because chicken)
Sylph (Sometimes I swap Sylph for renegade evoker but I find less prone time more useful)
Galeb Dur
Wild Hunt Rider (Didn't proc that often at green, but at purple seems more often)
Floaty Crit Blade
Might Stone (could change to chicken because chicken)
^ Awesome dude is awesome
The Jagged Dancing only affects companions, Although I did think the Wonderous Bazaar Dancing Blade was 5%.... for some reason....

My lineup:
Stone of Might
Dire Wolf
Rust Monster
Acolyte of Kelemvor
Cave Bear (only at basic green quality)
I actually have the skeletal dog too but no room for it. I know my choices aren't maxed out for DPS, but they're what I have and work pretty well. I think my guy has a solid mix of damage and survivability.
Edit: The wolf and acolyte are actually both equipped to sometimes have out summoned as well. Because that's fun.
I bought the Skeletal dog thinking I could remove my rank 7 Life Steal enchants and replace them with defense or Hit Points. I am at 1425 Life Steal atm, just over 10%. I was going to activate him, but I see some really good suggestions here.
I was even thinking of leveling the Sellsword and raising him to purple. I like the idea of 300 power for 1.5 million. A rank 10 radiant is millions more.
I wasn't sure if there was a cap on life steal. I have read most GWF keep it at 10%.
Life is full of drains, I prefer to be a fountain

I must be a theorycrafter then because I upgraded my Sellsword to purple. I'm also running as Sent and needed a bit of a damage boost.
Currently running:
Sellsword (purple)
Ioun Stone of Radiance (Purple)
Skeletal Dog (Blue)
Cave Bear (Green)
Dire Wolf (Purple)
Just bought the bear and need to upgrade it. Don't plan on using the Skeletal Dog or Dire Wolf in the long term. Looking to replace the Dire Wolf with maybe a Dread Warrior (again I'm sentinel) and the Skeletal Dog with either the crit severity blade or some dual stat pet. I prefer the dual stat pets since they have more overall stats, but the stat combos are usually medioce. There was one power/crit companion that I drooled over (drow assassin?) and it was part of that promo where you had to throw money at the zen market for multiple days in a row and he was the final reward for buying everything on every day (I didn't have the resources at the time to do that, and in a straight Zen buy with $ it was incredibly pricey).

These are good options:
Sellsword - 300 power. (1.8% increase in damage).
Fire Archon - Increase your dmg 5% to enemies which HP is below 30% (good synergy with executioner's style now).
Dancing blade - 5% crit sev.
Ioun stone of radiance/might (3 offensive slots for extra power).
Renegade Evoker gave me good results in CN but you have to go in front and take as much dmg as possible.
Galeb Duhr isn't really a good option, you are not going to be around with low hp or at least that's not supposed to happen, 8% more dmg when you have 20% HP isn't really good.
Wild Hunt Rider seems to be good but only for CWs due to the way how steal time works.
These companions are for PvE, you will find others more useful for OPvP.

Renegade Evoker is probably the best easy to obtain / cheap choice. at green, it basically gives you 2% more overall damage in a typical damage run, more if you upgrade it. Blacksmith is also good, but fairly expensive. Rust Monster is not a bad choice either and is the cheapest purple companion on the market right now.
side note: managed to kill a CW in open pvp off evoker and blacksmith procs alone. It is hilariously op in open pvp.

GWF theorycrafters who stack power do this often.
