I just hope if the server stays down long they find a way not to remove the celestial coins. Would suck having 7 characters at 6 days and not get to the 7th.

Ah, well, this explains why there was only one person from my guild online. And why I couldn't get back in after I decided to switch to an alt.
Neverwinter players are stubborn things....until you strip them down to bone. (Cursed players, my flowers, MINE!) Oh how I plotted their demise.
Except that, for some of us, this would PREVENT us from playing. The leveling is already too danged fast as it is.
Agreed.
Gamed MMOs since the first Neverwinter Nights, then DSO, then EQ...and onwards. I took advantage of the last x2; scratching my head as to why they would do it considering how easy it was the level up to begin with. Ended up half a dozen levels ahead with two characters and stopped since it made things too easy...waited until after it was over to continue playing. Could see increased drop rates for blues, or something similar, no more x2 exp...breaks more than it helps.
Gateway is down..HAMSTER..<gets supplies together for hubby's eventual withdrawl from crafting>
On a different note..hopefully this will fix the rubberbanding..I had to turn all of my effects off (for the first time ever) just to go into a dungeon. Yes..I love the pretty shiny things

Why is this a problem though. I mean getting to 60 isn't the end of the "grind"..far from it. All this does is allow players to experiment with alts and have options for grouping. The day of "yay I reached level 60 now there's nothing for me to do" are coming to an end. With campaign boons, gear farming, AA points (for all you EQ veterans out there)..reaching 60 is but the drop in the pond.

You know...it's funny...I've been playing MMO's since 1999 when EverQuest first came out. For 15 years now, every game I have ever played has had issues with their servers. To expect anything different is in its self ignorance. Their servers host a game that is free to play and made available to hundreds of thousands of people whom have the ability to play all at once...together...for free. How can you seriously expect compensation because their servers came down for a couple of hours? At least in this game they have someone responding and making a thread about what is going on...WoW never did...ever. EQ never did...ever. Any blizzard game ever created....never a thread. You should be thrilled that even though you have nothing to do with your lives until the server comes back up -they will come back up - and once again you will have a free game to spend countless hours playing.
In the old days companies used to give something for the little inconvenience, despite being not their fault. I lived with my parents, who were diplomats in Germany and there it was/still a habit to do that. I think 5000-10000 AD would be a nice gentleman gesture

The human race is a herd. Here we are, unique, eternal aspects of consciousness with an infinity of potential, and we have allowed ourselves to become an unthinking, unquestioning blob of conformity and uniformity. A herd. Once we concede to the herd mentality, we can be controlled and directed by a tiny few. And we are.

Exactly. Getting to 60 is fairly easy and quick, it's more a case of it takes as long as you want. Generally that's with your first character or the first of each class, after that you'll be very grateful it goes as quick as it does, frankly it could be quicker, this is specifically for players that have been here a long time. Honestly when you've multiple characters getting another alt to 60 could be alot quicker without complaint.
As above, 60 is merely the beginning the grind through Sharandar, Dread Ring and now IWD is immense, IWD grind has added ALOT of new content that will keep things going for a long time. Now imagine all that multiplied with however many characters you create. Funny thing is, they've already announced mod 4.
On this note, to any developers listening. I, as a customer, will PAY, very good money, for a significantly faster mount. I don't care if said mount is exempt from pvp, I just want it for pve, it would make my gaming experience incredibly less monotonous. 220% mount please? That'll half grinding time for me and i'd be a very happy customer
We can dream right?
Seriously though, big bucks for significantly faster mount. I think at this point in the games life, it's due. Just exclude it from pvp, that'll cut 99% of any complaints out.

I completely agree. I do wish, however, that they'd fix the launcher so it'd show red for the servers status. The one point with which I agree from another poster is doing something about the Celestial Coin problem. I've had a couple of outages that have cost me four or five of them. Thankfully, yesterday was day 7 for me on my toons and they're all set. But, I can see how that would be annoying, given the decreased drop rate of coalescent wards.

In the early days of EQ i remember Prexus being on downtime for at least 8 hours at a time about every 3 days or so. Add Dial-up Internet on top of that. lol. I'm grateful for the experience but i'm glad those days are long gone. Gamers today are spoiled.

People will complain about the price. People seem not to lack reasons to complain. If you defined "big bucks" some people would say, "sure, I'd pay that" and others would scream "play to win." (Even though it has nothing to do with that, at all) I'm still not sure what the difference is between a gold and purple mount, since they already introduced a new class. Seems like there's already a placeholder for it, just like turning people into animals from the witches in Sharandar is a prelude to Druids. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it will be, sadly.

you want 5-10k AD... run an instance when the game comes back up. A gentleman gesture?... I will tout the, this is a free game thing that's been said more than once. The fact that there are multiple people who think their life has been inconvenienced so much by the server being down is evidence you need this downtime. (clean your house, go outside and look at the world around you, have sex with your significant other/hand) Take a break and stop thinking that you deserve more for free than you already get. Being mad because someone outside the company pulled the servers offline just shows people how bad you are at processing information and fault. (they didn't do this to themselves.)

Heh. 56.6 and gathering the guild to go take on Vox.

This.
Especially since I cannot log onto the gateway and extend the time via sword coast...

You forget all the people that didn't have alts before, that are now required to have, in order to get the mod 3 artifacts.
All i want is to level an alt fast to get those.

There is a legendary giant beetle. Is it not superfast?
As for the servers issues, yes they may have been there already in older games like EQ but by then the admins were young and naive, they thought people would connect and enjoy the game. Nowadays, admins are aware of gold spammers, ddos-ers, peaks of connections after release of new mod. Thus they should also be better prepared than the admins from EQ.
