Received ingame msg: "Pick up mimic tamer", but it's not there!

Three times now when starting a brand new character, I have received an ingame message stating, "Pick up your mimic tamer at the (whatever his title is, the Gift guy) across the Hall of Justice from Sergeant Knox." But he doesn't have one!! If you don't get a free one, why have I received the message 3 times? But if I am supposed to get a free one, why doesn't the designated merchant have it?

Has anyone else received this message and not been able to pick up their gift?

    Then why does the message direct me specifically to PICK UP at that merchant? That makes it very confusing.

    I haven't really paid close attention to the text used on all these messages relating to promo codes, but they do use the same boilerplate.

    Subject line is the prize that came with the code, and then I believe the message directs you to pick up your prizes from the reward claim vendor (items may also be attached to the mail), but doesn't reference specifics because the same text is used for account unlock companions and fashion hats, and for the account unlocks that are just a title and come with a single pack of consumables (which you do have to see the vendor to collect, since you can only claim that once).

    But yeah, Mimic Tamer is just a title, not a companion. The claimable item from this particular code was a potion pack you very likely used on your first character.
