These guys, they just can't win. Give grand rewards and everyone groans that the economy is ruined forever, that they have more rough AD than they can ever refine, that their precious precious dragon eggs are worthless now, etc. But tone it down and everyone cries nerf.

I would just like BtA pantaloons, please thanks.

Tried the normal battle for the bridge skirmish yesterday, out of curiosity, and that thing used to kick some butts, but now mobs barely do scratches on armors, and if you make them really angry they start giving hugs. Like, nerfed into mediocrity, to use OP's words.

heh well unless you tried it with a lower level character, it may be a little different when you're geared to the max nowadays.

I keep thinking thats going to be what the CTA is like this time around. add about 5k-6k more Gear score and a ton of Shar and Dread boons and suddenly... well things get much easier hehe.

I'm pretty sure they greatly reduced the number of adds during the final fight. The first time I did that skirmish there were tons of Archons spawning. Now they only seem to spawn at intervals and even then in small numbers. That first time was pre-mod2 when 60s couldn't get in. I ran a CW through it. I died three times before we won and I didn't get Living Dead by a long shot. I think the winner was at 6 or 7. My WK rogue did it after mod2 (obviously) and more recently I ran a HR. The TR didn't die at all and the HR only get sent back to the campfire once. Neither was at level 60 when they ran the skirmish either.

No doubt it's quite easy for capped peeps nowadays , I know it was quite a challenge the first time I ran it though xD , it'll be interesting to see how well it scales for the lower levels and I'm liking how the pet looks so I'll probably go for it , I wonder if the pet will be in the store or whether we will be back to spamming it and praying to RNG , either way at least it's a fairly small and fast skirmish.

Not sure if there is any lore about the bridge, but it's always amusing to see a bridge leads to nowhere but a dead end.

Cool! I like CTAs! The rewards are often (not always) cool.. I'm going to really enjoy running this even if it IS a bit repetitive for rewards.

Wait wait, wait..whats this? HAMSTER! ANOTHER 4 DAY CTA EVENT? HAMSTER, guess I won't get to enjoy the CTA event after all, I live in the Real world and have a real job, my employer requires my presence at the job. Once again the CTA will fall within my work week, by the time my weekend rolls around the CTA will have ended :(

WOULD YOU PLEASE PLAN THE CTA AROUND THE REAL WORLD? MAKE THEM 7 DAYS FOR CRIPES SAKES!

There is a whole segment of us players that don't get to run the CTA and enjoy content for the simple lack of scheduling! The last CTA that I got to experience more than a few runs was the pit fight one way back last yr. and that was simply due to luck of me being on holiday.

What is the possible reason extending CTAs by 3 days that could be negative? They are temporary skirmishes (based on existing skirmishes) opened to all player lvls for different and unique rewards. So you let them run 3 days more than before..big woopty.

lol That's a good point. I'm not so sure about the lore (if there is any) but it goes absolutely nowhere.

I agree that it may be good to extend the CTA event to a week long event. Besides giving everyone a chance to play it and hopefully get what they are after, it -might- (I really don't know, but maybe,) help to spread the server load a little and help with the lag and other issues that come with it. I mean honestly, if I know it's going to be around for a week (especially if it's two weekends,) then I won't feel the need to play it over and over on opening day.

There may be some reason, not apparent to me, for keeping it short. But I think it should be at least considered.

Also, just from a player standpoint..

I have gotten the drop I wanted on the very first run before. Other times, I ran it for 6 hours a day for 2 or 3 days and never got it. Most times, I just got burned out on it after the first day and couldn't play it anymore. I'd love to be able to take a break from it and come back without feeling like I might be throwing away my chances.

Its the same bridge that you have to cross on the main Hotenow region. Between Heartleaf's grove and the Historians camp. The skirmish is just a closed off version of it, so players cant wander to far. You actually start the skirmish from the historians side and fight your way back to the grove.

The lore is pretty simple and explained by Geologist Darney. The giants have managed to capture the bridge. You have to take it back, or the expedition will doomed.

A lot of people (particularly those who work in retail) work during the weekend and have their days off during the week.

Actually, this CTA is on a weekend.

Or like me, work in the healthcare field and work rotational shifts like 4 days on 2 days off 6 on 2 off. You can imagine how rarely I'm going to get to play a "weekend" event with shifts like that :), even more so when I'm quite often asked to fill in or work OT since the healthcare field is replete with labor shortages.

Or like other fields were they work well in excess of 8h shifts like 10 or 12 (once again healthcare quite often work 10 hr more per shift) or the military that work erratic "work weeks" with long and extended hours (10 or more).

If they would extend the CTA to 24 hr x 7 days, somewhere in that time frame, almost everyone of every professional background would be able to squeeze in a "weekend".

It's the Firecross Bridge that separates the early part of the Mt. Hotenow map (entryway through Heartleaf's Garden) from the middle part of the map where the Survey Camp is. The spawn point is the survey camp, so for some reason the attackers are coming from the wrong side. Bonus because you can get the queue from the dwarf in Heartleaf's area, which is where the giants are coming from.

But basically they just lifted part of the questing map and capped off a few areas as being inaccessible, like most of the skirmishes.

Not to mention it is Easter weekend, and many people that may want to play it will be spending time with their families etc. Probably not the best timing for it, but it is what it is.
