At first I was excited to see it offered again. Then I saw it was a random chance from buying packs. Meh. Would have been happy to buy it from the store for straight zen.

It has always been obtained in this manner.

I doubt it will be a straight purchase any time soon, if ever.

Yep, it's a sales trick. Some incentive to buy a pack.
Fortunately I was going to buy one anyway since I desperately need some crafting tools and taking my chances with the random seems a better option than the AH prices.
Here's to hoping I get lucky, my new Guardian Fighter's cheer would probably echo throughout Neverwinter if he got one. :p

If you want one buy it on the AH - they're going for ~300k

A lot less than the 2,000,000 I paid just last week. :(

A question for anyone who has a Lv30 Lillend - Are they particularly useful in SCA? Some Companions are just better than others in SCA.

My cleric has one and uses it often in SCA. Helpful up to tier 6.

They are magic heavy (having it on all 4 of their dice) in SCA. So if you need that, I guess it is useful but when I do run SCA it is not one I typically take.

That is wrong. It has always been from profession packs. Aranea is the only companion that has ever come from Feywild lockboxes.

I fondly remember the very first time the Lillend was offered. I bought a few packs and got lucky on my 3rd. To the best of my knowledge my Lillend was the 3rd one ever posted on the AH. It sold for 6,900,000 AD. I hit the dang JACKPOT. It amuses me to know how lucky I got on that, and all the account wide stuff that I bought has been a great investment.

Sorry to ramble on, but that is one of my favorite NWO moments, lol.

Are you serious? 300K? That can't be...

I'll check when I get home, thanks for the notice :)

Buyouts have fallen under 500k, so 300k would still be more in the area of finding a very lucky undercut or sniping one with a low bid.

ZOMFG YES. Level 30 Lillend is probably my most power SCA Companion.

As dardove said that is incorrect.
Lillend companions have always been a random limited time reward from profession resource and asset packs. :)

Hmm I wonder what I should do, buy one from the AH for 444887 AD (currently) OR spend 432,016(currently) AD and get an Asset pack and MAYBE get one. Hmmmmmmm

whats so good about it anyways? i suppose passive bonus? cause theres very few needs for clerics ingame so a subpar healer companion driven by AI.. even less , imo.

Well it is a freebie but yeah the ah price does seem pretty low. Though I guess if more people actually wanted it they'd probably be higher in price.

You also have people who undercut by a low to try and make their sale look good and instead manage to completely destroy the market faster.

Example: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5673639/nwahdrop.jpg (may be removed at some point in the future)

For those that want the lillend for a status symbol/collection it's probably best to get it from the ah. If you were gonna buy asset packs anyway then there's no harm in that although I find it a waste of money. You can get buy quite well for solo content with just the common cleric anyway and for pve people usually dont have companions apart from augmented ones. Still I suspect the price may even fall cheaper as they have been doing so far.

I took advantage of the asset pack being on sale - some decent profession stuff and some trade bars, but sadly no Lillend. Might have to break down and buy one directly off the AH.

The original Lillend was obtained from the Feywild lockboxes.

The aranea was, not the lillend. I've been wanting to get an aranea, but I'm not coughing up 5M AD for one. Hopefully they'll become more available someday.

That said, my most "fun" companion is far and away the phase spider. I don't know why, but I just can't get enough of taking him to Sharandar and turning him loose on redcaps. At level 30 he can solo any individual redcap (albeit with T2 gear). There's just something evilly gleeful about isolating a redcap (like a witherer, hee, hee) and letting my spider turn the tables on him.

To get back on-topic, I have a lillend (paid 1.8M for it), and it's just...meh. She just isn't "fun" enough for me.

That doesn't mean that I hate redcaps, though. I'd love a loyal redcap minion (gah, there's that "m" word again). The most important aspect of any minion? Enthusiasm!

    (evil grin)

So is it at all possible to get one through the blessed profession pack by spending ardent coins instead of zen? Even though that's not specifically mentioned, seems like in all fairness it should be an option. But I don't know, hopefully it is, so I'm asking. Thanks.

So is the lillend even viable to be part of your 5 active companions?

I mean she's cheap now so it might be a cost/benefit thing that she gets included

She drops from Zen Market profession packs, not the Vault of Piety profession pack.

If you need a companion who can heal your party members at an acceptable degree, then she is the choice.

The effectiveness of her active bonus isn't very impressive. And if you need a personal healer, there are better choices.

How does she compare to the green Fawn (or perhaps more appropriately AD-wise) the blue fawn?

Fawn mainly heals owner, and is a better choice for ranged classes; Lillend mainly heals melee party members, and can also be an acceptable personal healer if owner is a melee.

I play ranged class (CW). In regards to healing me, Fawn is a lot better than Lillend. Fawn grants you Regeneration based on double amount (triple on epic) of its Power + Regeneration. And when it casts its healing circle, I teleport into the circle (if I need more heals) and my hp increases very fast.

As for Lillend, her single target healing heals you for 1.8% of your max hp. And her AoE healing requires you to stand close to the target (mob) so that's mainly for healing melee owner and melee party members.

There is a GF player posted his data about Lillend's healings. And I also replied some small bugs I found on her.

    Lillend versus Fawn:

In-game I like the Fawn better for my ranged characters, not so much for melee characters because the heal circle the fawn creates is really powerful (yes, *really* powerful). The Lillend does give a very strong heal, but it *feels* like (I'm not sure this is actually the case) she only throws her heals at me after the fighting has completed, where the freebie Cleric is constantly throwing heals at me while I'm fighting.

In SCA: the Fawn is really good, but the Lillend definitely edges out the Fawn - though I've only maxed the Fawn out to level 20, and my lillend is at level 30, so she kicks HAMSTER$ in SCA. I don;t know how the Angel will do (I expect to get mine in another 6 months or so because I haven't been invoking religiously (pun-intended, -cough-)).

Cleric in SCA: Not bad, well-rounded.
Fawn in SCA: As good or even better than most of my companions on any character in SCA
    Lillend in SCA: Stunning.
    Angel in SCA: ? 8/

Right now there is a flood in AH of Lillends with a lot of "want to sell *now*" posters, hence the crash in Lillend prices. There are something like 80 of them there now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the AH sniping drop the price down to 150k or less before the end of the month. However, if you plan to flip them, buy 'em up. Wait until the AH count drops and the pricing will creep back up to the 1.5/2-Million mark eventually.

any purple companion is the best for SCA, blues are ok too. greens lack the dice to get far on the epic challenge

For trash mob clearing my friends and I would joke the fawn was the MVP. It was quite funny to continually say thank you to an NPC.

The Fawn is like a miniature version of Astral Shield. If you see it walk in the circle and say thank you. It does quite a good job healing but it requires the players to be aware of the field of battle and go out of the way to take advantage of the effect.

Lillends on the other hand are really strong heals but you have to rely on the AI and that alone is a cringing situation to be in. The Lillend is by no means bad at healing. What it really comes down to between the two is whether you have "map awareness" and/or mind dealing with AI.

One thing I'll add to the fawn vs. lillend discussion is that the fawn tends to agro additional mobs more than the lillend in my experience. Since the fawn doesn't have an attack it will just run away from anything that attacks it, sometimes grabbing 2 or 3 additional groups of baddies as it flees (which can be a benefit if you're trying to round them up for aoe, but can be frustrating if you're not). The lillend will usually just stand in place and face her attacker, making it a little easier to control the battlefield.

Both are good. I prefer the lillend mostly for the coolness factor. As someone who plays the harp and keeps reptiles irl, it's the perfect companion for the briman :)
