New PVP Gear

Anyone else as disappointed with the new top-tier pvp gear as me? Always nice to hover over new pieces and see all red numbers under "changes if equipped" (but with tenacity!).

The weapons don't have set bonuses either - sweet! I was very excited when I logged in this evening - something to look forward to. Now, I couldn't care less - again.

Yep another useless waste of time, full of bugs "update" instead of doing something productive like making new PvP maps and modes. They trying to apease the Crybabys again by putting nerf padding on every1 so noobs dont cry when they get 3 shotted by a rotation. Oh well no1 will be playing this much longer anyway with new MMOs coming soon in 2014.

It kinda hurts my pockets to change all the enchants on my PvE gear to my PvP gear.

This is the only thing I disliked. If you want to play both PvE and PvP you have to be rich.

At least it's only gold. Not like there's anything else to spend it on. The tedium of frequently swapping enchants would probably drive me nuts, though. My PvP characters are going to be semi-retired from running dungeons, I think. Sure, you can do pretty much any content in any gear if you know how to do it, but the temptation to swap for the optimal load-out would be strong :P
    Sacrilege - Warlock
    Contagion - Cleric
    Testament - Wizard
    Pestilence - Ranger
    Dominion - Paladin

I wasn't expecting the new PvP gear to be worth buying, and it looks like I got exactly what I expected.

I dont understand all that QQ about the pvp patch. I find the changes are awesome. From the 6 matches I played so far no one was leaving and it was very balanced and alot fun to play. No one got rolled over either in the new gear.

    +1 to the devs ;-)
    Suggestions to improve NW:
    - Dualspec
    - Better rewarding foundry and foundry pvp maps
    - Custom PvP leagues with leaderboards instead of the current 'matchmaking'.
    - Armory
    - make jumping cost stamina (to reduce hopping in pvp)

play more and meet people with the new gear. its ridiculous. it should be a very nice patch, but cryptic RUINED it with those trash pvp gear.

Edit: Oh and you don't understand? See my post above your and see a lot of numbered reasons to hate those "new equips". Then if there is any lie there plz tell me.

Almost all people I met had the new gear. It is alot better now, fights last much longer. I get the impression that most people who previously were used to faceroll over others with 2-3 combos are those who are now QQing here.

Ok lets respond to your points in more detail:
    starbigamo wrote: »
it simply ruined the game for me, i could spend a whole day explaining why it is bad in every single aspect but i will just number some.

    1) its IMBA, already people that had the gaunt set is owning the people that didn't have it. i will need several days to make my gaunt set again then months to make a full set if i am stupid enough to keep playing.
You had the chance to get it before patch by yourself. And there is still the vendor to trade old gear for the new one. If you didnt tooked that chance than you have indeed to work for it. Nothing wrong with that.
    starbigamo wrote: »
    2) lets buy more bags just to carry pvp gear around!
No one forces you to keep both pve and pvp gear. I have always enough bag space free for both sets with just one bag of holding. Not a big deal imo.
    starbigamo wrote: »
    3) my char isn't my char anymore. now he will get a whole diferent full outfit to change from one gamemode to the other.
That is a matter of personal taste. I find it very nice to have two sets available to give me a different look from time to time, as in real life :)
    starbigamo wrote: »
    4) killed one of the main sale points of neverwinter for me and all my friends that play that WAS exactly the possibility to get powerful by playing the game, not just geting exploited by GWF and TR abusing in PVP.

    5) Splited the game on 2.
I am not sure what you meant here. But I agree that class balances still need work on. However this doesnt have anything to do with the new gear.
    starbigamo wrote: »
    6) Want to make a nice enchants for both of your sets? Here you go spending hundreds of dolars again to make nice enchants.
Nothing wrong with that either. If you want to have best gear in both worlds, expect to work for it twice as someone who focuses on only one thing.
    starbigamo wrote: »
    7) the difference in power of a full geared pvp set to a pve set is mountrous, i have a full dps 16k GF that can barely damage a freaking CW in t2 PVP set. when a char first reach level 60 it had far more conditions to play against high gear than now where it will just be exploited to death.
This just looks for me as you were used to faceroll CWs with 2-3 combos in stunlock before. Expect to have a longer fight now.
    starbigamo wrote: »
    8) the exact same builds that owned before patch still commands, GWF still is a killing AND tanking machine.
    see my comments to 4) & 5)
    starbigamo wrote: »
    9) Now Neverwinter is officially a P2W game, and you need to pay a lot! (and play GWF).
The situation is not different than before patch.

Profound is noted as tier 2 in the notes (or somewhere).

Also that would suck if the weapons did have a set bonus. CN seems to be the only viable way to make AD. I fear the day that'll be obsolete and the game becomes unfarmable with only blue drops.

I looked at the CW, DC and GF gear, all 3 have full t2 pvp (GG) gear. I wouldn't switch to any of the new sets on ANY of them.
Mostly because the DC and GF are heal and tank (PVE) spec and played 99% in PVE only, but even the CW which I do a lot of pvp on, don't see myself sacrificing power/crit/armor pen for tenacity, especially since it's 100% usless in PVE.

All of the pve people are complaining now that they cant dominate in pvp as easy as before. I fail to realize why they think that people that just want to pvp should have to pve all day to get the best gear. Pve is the only real source of good AD to upgrade enchants as it is. If the pve people want to pve so bad just queue for a dungeons instead of a domination. This armor does not hurt pve at all.

I think separation of PvP from PvE is a good thing. PvE-oriented equipment? Check! PvP-oriented equipment? Check! Now we can start to have PvP balancing that doesn't affect PvE and vice-versa.

What do we still need? Of course, we need powers and feats (or just powers) to have separate PvE and PvP effects, so that the classes themselves can be balanced in PvP without trashing anyone's PvE effectiveness (or, again, vice-versa).

For the people who are complaining about enchants, do you really need more than R6? Unless you've been running R9/R10 this whole time, R7/R8 aren't that different from R6. Skill should be able to make up that tiny little difference and if it can't, then you've been relying on your gear too much anyway and need to learn your class.

For the record, I'm posting as a PvE-oriented player who was smart enough to complete their PvP set before the patch and is delighted by the new changes.

I got all my PVP gear by doing.... PVE.

I was just surprised to see the disappointing stats on the new gear. They clearly said they would be adding Tenacity stats to existing PVP gear - that's not what they did. They added a bunch of new gear, and allow us to swap over to it. Sorry but at least on the CW which is where I do most of my PVP (my HR isn't quite ready yet) there's no way I'd trash my Champion Mage gear. If he was exclusively a PVP char, maybe. But he's specced for AoE control, ie epic dungeons.

Champion set is ok for PvE, but it is not optimal. No reason to keep the Champion set for PvE, get something better.

    Congrats, you are super smart!

And new players? New level 60 always had some problems at least before they could do some dungeons and get some basic equip, now to get pvp gear they need to get spanked non stop.

And no i still make my usual 11/1 kill ratio as usual, i just am not looking exclusively to myself.

Game is done for RIP neverwinter.

I have to LOL a moment at your "RIP Neverwinter" as if the game is only PvP. It was added as an afterthought and it would survive just fine if they removed it outright.

To answer your question about "new players", there are leveling-bracket PvP blues for sale at the Glory vendor. You did notice that, right? They aren't purples, but they'll get you through until you can earn your purples.

That being said, leveling is ridiculously fast in Neverwinter and could probably stand to be slowed down... a lot.

I dont really get the point of Tenacity and the sets...
GWFs are even more OP than before, GFs became OP now too and what sux most about it... PERMA PRONE is still alive!! WTF!!!

Makes no sense to run against a team/pug with 3 Melees. The queue still sets up stupid pugs... pure ranged vs pure melees + dc...
happy birthday and hail the perma prone! The no-brainer-classes rule em all...

    9) No, some classes are just imbalanced compared to others. Paying has little to do with it.

    This way.

Sure, enchantments make no difference in pvp right? I will not even get started about horses. but different sets of enchants i know for a fact that make a huge difference. and to make a normal enchant here go 30 dolars, to make a better one you are done for! :)

I see a bunch of garbage in your inventory. Tons of it. Oh well, one man's trash is another man's treasure I guess.

As for enchants, no. Once you reach gear scores of 11k +, its the class, build and the player that matters a lot.
