What is Sune the goddess of exactly?

Dear PWE/NWO Tech writers:

In this week's Zen-store discounts newsitem, did you intend to describe Sune as the goddess of beauty and tender "emotions" perhaps?

Because that's not what the blurb currently says.

Love, a fond player

PS: Last I checked, it was Selune who was the goddess of seamen.

Ahh so it's Sune who is to blame the morning after curry night , my 'emissions' are certainly tender to say the least.

She's also the goddess of pig-riding! A fun portfolio.

lol selune would not be happy to here that at all ... selune is the goddess of the moon unlike Artemis from Greek mythology she is literally the moon though i guess you could say she is the goddess of sea men(key being the space) since they use her light to guide them through the sea at night

Sune is the forgotten realms version of Aphrodite,... in pretty much all the particulars. She was REALLY dumbed down for summer festival. her priests should have been wearing courtesans outfits, and the cosmetic should have been reavealing rather than a hippy outfit. In actual lore her temples (and clerics) are houses of 'ill repute'.

*edit and just to be clear (and fair) BOTH her male and female clerics.

Ergo, "tender emissions" is totally appropriate, so please don't change the news post.

Best Freudian typo ever. You know there's someone at Cryptic cursing auto-correct about now.

Actually, though, come to think of it: I have a lot of difficulty reconciling the very selfish-sounding, shallow presentation of Sunite dogma ("beauty is more than skin deep, and if you're not attractive then you aren't worthwhile") first described in Faiths and Avatars with any notion of Sune having a Good alignment, chaotic or otherwise. 4th Edition doesn't detail Sune in this way, and in fact says that her priests are expected to engage in unselfish acts (rather than, say, primp 23 hours a day and make sure they look sexaaaaay) in order to stay in good standing with the church.

I get the impression that 4th Ed and NWO take a more broad, nuanced idea of Sune as a goddess of love and beauty than the old writeups would indicate.

In the FR books, priestesses of Sune offered special "services" for those coming to worship their god. Amazingly enough, a simple divine spell, Cure Disease, keep these gals free from nasty infections!
