Hey everybody!
We'll be performing our scheduled maintenance tomorrow (2/13) at 7AM PST
(when is that in your time zone?).
Estimated downtime is 2 hours, but could be extended due to unforeseen circumstances.
Patch notes are available
here
Thanks!
Dwight

Is this done specifically to <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> people off or what the hell? <.<
+1mill this, rofl
I give them plenty of credit also. If there is a problem with the patch, they have put in extra hours to fix it and I've seen servers go down over 12 hours later with a fix for issues that came with a patch. Nothing is perfect, but they do put in extra time to try to get thing right promptly.
Also, lol prettycelt. I want to be able to do that so bad
I'm not really blaming them for the time they patch, I blame them for making us miss out on the DD every ******* time they do it. IF they could at least "pause" everything that happens in-game while the servers go down I'd be just fine with it. That way it would be fair for everyone.
Thanks for posting this link, but we've been linking to the patch notes threads within the maintenance thread for awhile now. What I'll do is discuss it with others to see if linking directly to the patch notes page is a better way to handle it. Either way, we've got this handled properly. Working as intended
currently there are two test shards up: mimic and owlbear. mimic has proposed changes on it for the upcoming pvp changes and owlbear has the build with weekly updates on it. all content on these test shards is subject to change before it goes live. and currently, the date of the pvp changes has not been announced yet.
Just wondering why you make a link race.
Your link leads me to
http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?1141-Patch-Notes
which leads me to
http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?606731-Patch-Notes-NW-10-20140128a-9
which then again directs me to
http://nw.perfectworld.com/news/?p=1096761
where I finally end up with the information I was looking for!
Would it hurt, when updating the post with "Update 1 (7:00 AM PST) Maintenance has begun. Thread updated with the Patch Notes."
to enter the correct URL to the news?
I just want to understand why you hide the good news behind a wall of links to follow.
the scheduled maintenance thread is created ahead of time to notify players of when to expect it here on the forums. a link is provided then to the patch notes sub-forum. when the new patch info is provided, a thread is created in that sub-forum pointing to where the patch notes have been posted on the website. it may not be a single click solution, but it's not really hidden.
And he is saying they should update the link when the patch notes are posted so it doesn't require following multiple links.
yet the current process seems to be internal procedure, whether that is for historical purposes or for whatever reason. as DwightMC stated, WAI.
And he was giving feedback on how it works for the players so that maybe it can be improved. Do you not understand how feedback works?
A link to a forum that contains a thread that contains a link to another page might be a little inefficient, i've seen lots of "why do you link a link to a link in another link?" threads popping out for a while as well (though they get deleted in minutes)
of course. it is my opinion however that it's being a bit nit picky.
I don't want to cause anyone any trouble here, but to say "Patch notes are available here" leads me to the conclusion that I get linked to the patch notes as such. Not to a sub-forum where all patch notes are listed since the dawn of time (which in this universe was 04-30-2013).
In the forum topic then there is a link to a news article, in which I can find the patch notes.
True would be "Link to the forum subsection where you can find the tread that contains the link to the patch notes".
But that would be way too complicated.
Having found and read the patch notes I want to express my delight and punch in my praises for fixing the sorting on the AH and get denied!
Am I the only one that is prohibited from posting there?
"Be the first to leave a comment on this page!"
You bet ... tried that, I am banned it seems. Maybe too many questions ... I should stop asking questions!
Oh, and least your helmets won't cut through your nose anymore!
