There is a particularly nasty issue with the mail system that I figured deserves a public warning.. Perhaps you all know already, but just in case, here you go.
Say you're selling two items in the auction house for 2k AD each.
One sells, and your mail icon starts glowing up top. You go to a mailbox to pick up your AD.
You click on the piece of mail titled "Item sold in the auction house." You hit the Take Items button.
You don't need this mail anymore, so you hit delete. The "Are you sure you want to delete this message?" window pops up.
That instant, your other item sells in the Auction House, and you click OK on the delete window for the previous message.
Your NEW MAIL, with AD on it, is instantly deleted.
Fortunately for me this only happened with a Man-At-Arms sale, not some massive Perfect Enchantment or anything, but I figured this should be announced and QUICKLY dealt with by developers. Would save a lot of time in the long run trying to resolve the undoubtedly massive amount of tickets submitted about this issue.

EDIT: P.S. The temporary solution is to never delete your mail, of course. But given the amount of trades I do, I'm gonna have a 1000-line mailbox in no time...
Of course, having a full-of-junk mailbox is not as large an issue as deleting (possibly) millions of AD in an instant with zero opportunity to react, but it's still an issue. If people want to delete their mail, they should be able to. Or, mail sent from the AH should simply auto-delete itself when all items/AD have been taken. Simple.
Really? I was under the impression that mail never disappeared. That's some positive news I suppose, but still doesn't deal with the insta-delete issue. Thanks for the reply.
Couldn't make a new topic and this was the closest. I just bought an item from the auction house. I received the mail, but I am unable to remove the item from the letter and put it in my inventory. Help would be appreciated.

You have to see the mail courier that is near the AH or one of the mailboxes in order to retrieve items from your mail.

For safe deletion of email clutter, leave yourself an empty buffer message at the top of your mailbox and delete below the buffer. Incoming messages will arrive above the buffer and be safe.

I mailed 10 Preservation Awards and 3 Mark of Potency to Duinix@duinixxx and it is not in the mail for the intended recipient or in this mail for this toon( account) . These items were just purchased by me thru the AH and the WB brokers. I have Mail from that account and just keep it in wue and hit reply to mail things back and forth with no previous problems

When it comes to in-game mail and sending items please make sure that you type the handle as well as the character name of the player you wish to send your message/item to so that it goes to the correct person. Think of your handle as being similar to the domain name of your real-world e-mail account. You will need to include @Handle in the mail message you are sending.
Please remember that mail cannot be sent between shards, so any mail that is sent to another shard will be lost for good.
While I would love to be able to restore your item, I am unfortunately unable to do so at this time. We make every effort to be able to verify and restore any loss. However due to various reasons this may not always be possible.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience and understanding!
At this point I have to ask you to push this ticket up further to a higher Echelon CSR. I have done this with no issue with using the reply from a previous mail from the other account . So at this point the form reply I have gotten is invalid and needs to be updated seeing how now there is only "1" shard. The form reply with this error on it suggests to me that there might be a little more attention to detail needed.
Now to see if they actually do something about the mail issue?

I recieved the exact same mail 2 weeks ago when I lost my Perfect Soulforged and Perfect Vorpal in the mail.
They're not even trying to help.

It should be fairly easy to fix, simply "stick" the focus with whatever mail you've selected...
